Utah “Karen” Yanks Down Woman’s Skirt And Reports Her To Police, Ends Up Charged With Battery

A “Karen” from Utah, USA, who was exposed in a viral TikTok video that has since been taken down for pulling down a teenager’s mini skirt because it was “too short,” was charged with sexual battery.

In a viral clip filmed in a St. George Japanese steakhouse called Sakura, the entitled woman was filmed in a confrontation with a group of girls after allegedly pulling down one of their pieces of clothing.

Highlights
  • A woman from Utah was charged with sexual battery for pulling down a teenager's skirt.
  • The incident occurred in a St. George Japanese steakhouse over the alleged victim's skirt length.
  • The woman was identified as 48-year-old Ida Ann Lorenzo.

The angered restaurant-goer, who has since been identified as 48-year-old Ida Ann Lorenzo, threatened the alleged victim, saying if she had “to watch [her] *ss cheeks hanging out again” and see her pubic hair, she would call Child Protective Services.

A 48-year-old Utah Woman confronted a teen girl in a St. George Japanese steakhouse called Sakura over the length of her skirt

Lorenzo said she planned to pursue the girls for indecent exposure, LBC reported. Moreover, the victim’s friends reportedly made it clear that she was over 18, stressing Lorenzo shouldn’t touch her.

But the tables quickly turned for Lorenzo, who has since been labeled a Karen, as she is currently facing a charge of sexual battery, according to court papers.

The woman, who works for Utah’s Attorney General, was later released after initially being arrested on Wednesday (April 24) and held in custody at Washington County Corrections.

Lorenzo took the matter to police herself, saying the teen’s skirt was “hiked above her vagina and butt,” LBC reported.

Additionally, she reportedly told law enforcement that she pulled the skirt down because there were children present.

CC Snow, who witnessed the scene and happened to be the friend of the alleged victim who had uploaded the original viral TikTok video, shared her version of the incident earlier this week.

Taking to TikTok again, she recalled in a video: “She comes up to my friend and reaches under her skirt, yanks it down and then squeezes her sides, because she is wearing a crop top, and says, ‘You’re probably underage, you probably shouldn’t be wearing that.’”

CC further explained that in the restaurant, there were high school dances and “tons of dance groups, tons of people.”

The TikToker reflected: “Would you just imply that you think she’s a minor, and you just assaulted her?”

“I would tell your friend to go file a police report and press charges then file a complaint with her employer that way it’s done legally,” a TikTok user commented.

Another person wrote: “People and their audacity. you don’t touch a females skirt period! sexual assault charge. that is completely not okay.”

A separate individual chimed in: “This is SA. Insane. Everything she did was wrong and she should be charged.

“She should have been kicked out as well. I’m so sorry this happened to your friend.”

Bored Panda has contacted Utah’s Attorney General for comment.

“Good for the teen sticking up for herself,” a reader commented

Well I certainly hope your skirt is over your vagina, otherwise that sounds very very uncomfortable. She can't even get basic anatomy right.

First off, it's not so short it doesn't cover her behind. It looks to be a micro mini that's a little above mid-thigh, so well below the cheek area. Hell, I'm 63 now, and wore my skirts that short myself back in the day when I was around her age. However, I do remember some nasty comments made by some people about the length of my skirts, even though that was the style of the time, ffs. Second, that's an awful long crop top if it reaches her belt, which looks to be right at the top of her hips, btw. She's also a slender girl, so her clothes aren't going to creep up that much. Nothing to get all worked up and grabby about ffs, Karen. Now, if the girl's skirt had actually hiked up and she didn't know, or something more along the lines of the kind of confidential (usually whispered so as not to attract attention) heads up women give each other when their clothes, hair, or makeup need to be readjusted, I would've discreetly let her know. But that would be the extent of it. You NEVER touch another person without their permission, unless they're going to be harmed if you don't. For example, it is perfectly acceptable to grab someone's arm to pull them out of the way of oncoming traffic if they're not paying attention. But it is never acceptable to suddenly pull on someone's clothes and make a big public stink about how they're dressed, like you're the f*****g fashion police or something. In most countries, including the one where this took place, women don't get publicly humiliated---or jailed, or beaten, or killed---because their skirts are fashionably short, ffs. As long as the "necessaries" are covered, according to local laws, it ain't nobody's business but your own what you wear.

I had a guest once who didn't approve of my very tasteful chest piece. She pulled down my shirt (exposing my bra dang near nips), and loudly proclaimed that if I ever had kids my "tits would look like tomato plants". Fortunately, I have a theater background. I immediately broke into tears, and said "I went to the doctor today. I can't have children." Ran to the bathroom. Her entire party was mortified. They apologized, left in a hurry, and her husband slipped me $100. Good for the young woman. Shame on the intrusive 'choose your own curse word' who invaded her. My incident was 17 years ago, and it's still vivid.

It's a perfectly fine skirt, but even if it wasn't, why would anyone think it's ok to go up to her and pull it down? I know people make fun of "Karens", but there has to be an underlying mental issue to their behavior.

Control. Instead of this woman controlling where she goes. She wants to control where people who aren’t up to her standards are going so that they aren’t where she is. Control. Control. Control. Thinking this girl was very young gave her the incorrect impression that she could intervene with what she was seeing. Had a 40 year old slender woman been dressed the same, she wouldn’t have touched her. This Karen thinks she has power over younger folks and is allowed to assert control and she’s mistaken.

God forbid in this case she was a minor and this Karen did this- she would be added to the SO registry too and automatically loose her job (99.99999999% govt. jobs will not allow you to be on the SO registry and still keep your job). She was so out of line, regardless of the woman's age. But it would be 20 times worse if this woman was like 15 or something and this Karen did it to her
