Is anyone else sick of jobs in their sector being labelled as 'rewarding' when there is no reward in the wages or the culture of the field?

I work in education and while the award rate has gone up, we are still not paid as high as we should be for all the work we put in. Teachers stay late most days, or bring their work home. In preschool/kindergarten, where I spent most of my years, the state government has increased the number of hours three year olds are entitled to attend for free, which is great as research has shown how important the early years are for education. In turn, they expect the educators to work longer hours and take on extra responsibilities, without improving working conditions. There is a huge shortage of educators and their solution is to make teaching courses free, to get more people in the work force rather than support those who are already struggling in it. Then all the ads for the career are about how rewarding a career it is, which is true in small part, but is overshadowed but the other parts of the job. It is great to see a child making progress in an area they have struggled with, but when there is no acknowledgement from their parents, or when you have other children in the room yelling and fighting, so you can't spend the time with those that need it, the rewards are diminished. Anyway, enough of my rant, is this similar in other sectors?
