Teenager Gives A Tour Of Her Private House After Her Family Builds A Private Tiny Village Where Their Teen Kids Have A House Each
Around a year ago, we published an article where we talked about the Brinks family from Kentucky who, back in 2015, built a tiny house village where the parents and each of the siblings have their own personal mini home. Today, we’ve got a little update for you. Recently, one of the daughters, who’s got a popular TikTok account with almost 560k followers, posted a tour of her own mini house. The video quickly gained quite a bit of attention and it currently has almost 330k likes.

Around 6 years ago, the Brinks family from Kentucky bought a $57,000 21-acre property and built 6 mini houses, turning it into a tiny house village. We’ve got the parents’ house, two separate houses for the daughter Lennox and the son Brodey, a double bathroom house, a pool house, and a guest house.

The daughter, Lennox Brinks, has a popular TikTok account under the name @tinyvillagegirl where she often shows and talks about what it’s like living in her family’s tiny village. Last month, Lennox posted a video where she gave a mini tour of her own property.

“My name is Lennox, but most of you on here know me as the Tiny Village Girl,” the girl narrates. “Because it’s such a weird way of living, people always ask me for a tour of the inside of my house.”
Lennox opens up about how she doesn’t really like the way the inside of her house currently looks and that she’s planning on doing a house makeover. “That’s why I’m deciding to redo the entire interior.”
Turns out, she doesn’t really like the way the interior currently looks, so she’s planning on redecorating it

First of all, Lennox house has a pink couch that she’s not that into, so she’s going to get a new cover for it

Then there’s a dresser that she’s also not super stoked about, so she’ll be painting it another color

Lennox’s tiny house also has a full-size bed upstairs

And plenty of shelf room for things that are used less often

Under that, she’s got an open bookshelf with a huge TV standing on top of it

The wall next to her second dresser currently looks quite empty, so Lennox is planning on decorating it with some “super cool stuff”

And the best part is that Lennox is going to document her tiny house makeover and will be sharing the updates with her TikTok audience

I don’t understand the point of their tiny “houses” when it is essentially just a big seperate bedroom. No kitchenette, bathroom or/and toilet etc.
Yeah I thought it was going to be legit tiny houses each with their own bathroom and kitchenette and I thought "how cool" but it's literally glorified sheds, basically, lol.
I have seen them before and exactly that. It has all the downfalls of a separate home (energy use will be very inefficient) with the added bonus to have to go outside to use the bathroom? And for what? Sharing a hallway and stairs to get to common area's. Besides that, I like having my family close.
These aren't even built as tiny houses, these are actually storage sheds that are popular to buy and you can do whatever with, you can even make payments, no credit check needed.
I agree with you it's just like a bedroom that is far away from the house. I kind of feel like it would be a bit of a waste.
I agree with the poster questioning the bathroom...I love the idea, but not sure I would want to have leave the house, go outside in all the elements, and walk to another house just to take a quick bathroom break....especially during a certain time of the month!
Oh yea. Like every 3 hours! That would suck.
bring back the chamber pot? ;)
When designing a tiny house you decide what is important to you that it's worth take up some of the precious space in your home. For most of history we had to leave to use the facilities, indoor plumbing is a recent invention. I would personally make sure I had space set aside for an operational bathroom. Just need 3' x 7' to make it work ;)
For most of human history we have not had electricity, indoor plumbing, internet, nor Oreo cookies. But I wouldn't want to live in a house without those things. I'm all for tiny houses. But tiny houses with toilets.
Well kendra, to be fair...for most of history we also used old rags for our monthly...but then we invented pads and tampons and now utilize those...when we know better and have better...we DO better.
She's hasn't seen many dressers if she thinks that maple wood dresser is the ugliest she's seen..
Or you could build a proper house instead of a bunch of garden sheds. It would be less expensive to build/heat/maintain, and when you want to sell it - and you WILL want to sell it one day - someone will actually buy it.
All this.
#whitepeopleproblems. majority of my students sleep in rooms with 5+ family members, in dangerous public housing or in homeless shelters. perspective.
I think they were avoiding getting a proper building permit, which isn't required for 'non-permanent structures (those without foundations) of less than so-many square feet'
what does this have to do with the article?
I can understand needing time away from my teen, but this is weird. Parents should live WITH their children. When isolated like this, the impromptu teaching moments are gone. 😰
This week on "livin' in a shed for funzies"
*that one person at the bottom of the comments* "omg the cats🥺* XDD lmao
So basically she lives in a tool shed.
Me, an introvert: YES
Ah, what is done for novelty attention...
I think many of you are missing the point here, the reason why the parents did this is to give the kids a little bit of "freedom" and privacy. No fighting about get out of my room etc. gives the parents peace and quiet too. yes the bathroom house is a bit odd, I would've added a bathroom in the tiny houses, but that's just me. I LOVE this idea. I would love to buy some land in upstate NY and do the same for my kids, (one is adult 19 and others are currently 13-16) but if they had jobs you charge them a small amount of rent to instill some values and teach them about life. Then when they move out, you can keep them as guest rooms, man caves, she sheds, whatever you want.
How is having all the common areas still being used together more privacy than having the personal spaces connected through a wall? I thin _you_ don't get that people.at first think there will be benefits like privacy only to find out there are none and even added downfalls like going outside to use the bathroom or kitchen.
Oh, to be rich :3
Nah, you don't have to be rich to put up some sheds on cheap land.
In Kentucky.
This would actually be cheaper than buying a home.
THIS GIVES ME THE *oh look my parents have money and they do not want to hear me bring boyfriends over at night... * VIBES... - no kitchen no bathroom.. essentially youst a separate huge bedroom with garden
Didn't these used to be called play houses back in the day?
well, the cats like the couch cover, so you better keep it
She seems very spoiled.
why would you want to live in separate lil houses?
oh my god i would have killed for this lifestyle as a teen, although i agree with the comments that they'd be learning more about fending for themselves if each house had bathroom/kitchen as well
Not just fending for yourself. The whole point of more privacy is not distance between walls, but personal use of otherwise common areas.
I confused by the comments that think that these people have money they couldn't afford a real house and put up a bunch of sheds! she probably has only ever had that dresser and couch, she doesnt even have the money to buy a can of paint for the dresser or she would have painted it and when she talks about hating the couch she talks about covering it not replacing it. She talks about decorating her bare wall with lots of cool stuff but I know what it is to not have anything and to day dream about making my space better if she could have done it she would have already, she's not spoiled she doesn't have a lot and is trying to make the best of it
This was posted on Reddit a couple of years back, according to the comments from them, they are NOT broke or poor. In any way. They are very much upper middle class, who could afford to come out of pocket $57,000 for some land. She has not "only ever" had a dresser and that couch, all of that was bought when they first got the property 6 years ago. She is literally just redecorating, which they can certainly afford to do.
That's not alot of money when talking about buying property and homes. Definitely not upper middle class.
Yesssss the cats
anybody else notice the Steven Universe theme playing in the background of the video though :D
That dresser looked GREAT 👍 + she is kinda ungrateful her mom dad bought her a. House
I would be scared to be separated like this

Did we all miss the "please donate money so I can actually finance the redecoration " ?
*envy*
Yawnnnnnnnnn.
If you watched the video..what's the use of the rest of the article???
for people who don't want to play the video but still want to know what happens in it
Yep, another spoiled, bratty American teen.
Seems like spoiled kids, probably expect everyone to give them everything.
Did anyone else notice she had AN XBOXXX?
what does this have to do with anything?
that must be a lot of money
Not really, those shed like bungalows don't cost much

And then they flew of on their pink unicorn why make tiny villages for tour family when people starve on the streets and kids have to live in the fear of a bombing and not enough funding for proper education in some places before anyone does this I hope they ask themselves If they really need this and could they not donate this money to a charity
Why dont you use your internet money for charity. Please do that.
Because some things are necessary I need my phone to communicate with my friends and family and to get my school work sent to me

Ungrateful brat paint the dresser make a cover to ur liking if u dont like them it shows u didnt buy them. Are u spending any of ur money on ur tiny house, looks like u need to straighten the place too, that would be a great improvement
wow ok calm down she said she dosn't like the couch color and the dresser chile
I'm with E. Rangel that she sounds a bit spoiled - she "hates" the couch and it is the "ugliest" dresser... but please keep in mind that she is still very young and most probably never had to do without nice things. That is not her fault - that is just lack of awareness. Let her grow up and work to pay her own bills and maybe one day she will be a bit embarrassed by the stuff she put on the internet when she was younger.
