End of January, I’m in Sofia for different tasks. It becomes time to 30th and leave to Pernik. City 20 kilometers from our capital Sofia, huge traffic jam packed bus. The city was blocked by thousands of cars coming to him.

After about 30 minutes we find ourselves train station Pernik little more flair and ability for orientation in unknown environments reach the city center. A picturesque main street, pedestrian course, reminiscent awful lot of this in my hometown.

A little more wandering and here we are behind the official scene of the Festival of Masquerade Games “Surva.” People a lot of people, public enclosures, special police units. Bells in the distance seemed to say “Come” and see who is playing here. I wanted to start shooting from the first minute, we had to find a festival congress center to take accreditation for the Festival.

Pass five minutes and I’m in front of the building in question well marked with a large sign and logo of the festival. We go inside – very friendly team, a lean organization with a huge bunch of accreditations emerged and ours. Greetings and headed straight to the column. Assembled technique and instantly to the first mummers we saw.

Many people behind the ropes Police and many photographers. The gorge was organized in a route that was about 500-600 meters in the town of Pernik. I went about it the whole. Ivica ten meters wide, which ends Square and scenes of which I spoke in the beginning. On stage was the jury who watched the display of any overt group. The square was surrounded by many audience awful lot of people smiling pictures comment, watch, young, old, Bulgarians and foreigners.

Euphoria, live folk music, ringing of bells! This is Bulgaria, a huge collection of all folklore regions, different customs and restorations. After all mummers chase evil forces. It reads custom – is in Pernik were banished all evil forces in the nation. There was such peace in this madhouse, to illogical but all were in the clouds, so to speak.
