‘World’s Thinnest Dog’ Weighing 6.5lbs Recovers And Walks His Owner Down The Aisle
Back in September 2015, Rachel Butler rescued ‘the thinnest dog in the world’ – and today he is happy, fully recovered family pet, and even got to walk his owner down the aisle at her wedding. “Having our beautiful dog at the ceremony made us both feel so proud at how far he has come,” Butler told Sunday People.
“He looks like a walking skeleton,” RSPCA animal shelter inspector Nicky Foster said of William at the time he was found. “He is the thinnest dog rescue I have seen in the ten years I have been an inspector. You can see every single bone in his body.” The canine weighed only 6.5lbs instead of a healthy 22lbs and had to be always wrapped in a towel to stay warm
William was previously owned by Christopher Rushton and Kirsty Hales. They got the pooch after seeing him advertised on the internet but didn’t have the slightest idea how to look after a puppy. The couple admitted having inflicted animal abuse to the doggie. They were banned from dog adoption and keeping animals for life and got 35 hours of unpaid work.
We’re just happy that it’s another puppy adoption with a happy ending. He looked so adorable at the wedding with that tweed collar and bow tie!

Please, for the love of God, PLEASE, if you do NOT know how to take care of an animal, do NOT, i repeat DO NOT get that animal! If you can barely take care of yourself, do not get an animal. If you can barely support yourself, do not get an animal, and if you cannot afford to get the animal spayed or neutered, do not get it. I think lack of education (and heartlessness) are the biggest culprits to all these tragic animals stories. Thank God this one had a happy ending!
Thank god to you Amanda. I know you posted this awhile ago but whatever. It takes more then it should for people to understand that animals aren't just cute and fuzzy ( or cute and scaley or whatever ) and that they need care too.
Load More Replies...Anyone can tell that an animal that thin needs food. That is not 'not knowing how to look after a dog'. That's cruelty and stupidity.
Ignorance is not the problem. Cruelty is. Not knowing how to take care of a dog is NOT starving it.
I see they are banned for having an animal for life....... that should include a ban from having children too!
There are a few more reasons NOT to get an animal : If you don't particularly like pets, DON'T marry someone who loves them. And if one partner is mentally handicapped, DON'T GET A DOG. Unless family children are properly instructed regarding dog behavior, don't get a dog. Whoever sold this puppy to them is an IDIOT. The people who actually bought him and neglected him to such a horrible state should be arrested, prosecuted for extreme animal abuse, sentenced to prison for the maximum allowed by law.
He is so beautiful. Thank you for doing this. I'm sure he brings you so much joy.
They didn't know how to take care of a dog? They had no idea that living beings need food? Really? I hope these people don't procreate. Wow, 35 hours of community labor for doing that.....now that's justice, ain't it?
I just looked up the news article about that couple. With them complaining about how "they've been made into monsters", and that they didn't know what to feed the dog since the seller never told them... How about taking the pup to the vet and asking their advice instead of letting that poor pup almost starve to death. They had 2 other pets (1dog and 1cat, which they had to give up after this) so the "we didn't know how to take care of him" is kinda bs....
William turned out to be a gorgeous hound! I`m so happy he found a new home, I love dogs, especially hounds!
Why do humans have to be so cruel, they shouldn't have got the poor dog if they'd no intention of feeding it. 12 months hard labour without food or water is too good for them !!
