Now, the quality of that survival will depend on the logistics employed by the survivors...cooperating small societies where all creatures are valued and they work together, or perhaps uber wealthy hiding out in luxury bunkers waiting to re-assert their privilege and assumed dominance over what's left (read Jared Diamond's book Collapse: Why Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed)

Reread, guys. It doesn't say faith in humanity, it says faith that humanity has a future. It doesn't matter how many good people there are on the planet, too many greedy ignorant powerful people are bent on reaping maximum short term profit at the expense of the species' long term survival.

I still buy DVDs/BluRays. I like actually owning the thing and being able to reliably access it for the next 20-50 years. Only series and movies I've rewatched at least once and want to watch again though.
