Noah Wyle took home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at Tuesday’s 78th Emmy Awards.

Wyle won the award for the second time for his portrayal of Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch on the HBO Max medical drama The Pitt. However, some viewers were unhappy with the outcome.

On social media, some fans expressed frustration that Wyle won while his co-stars were sidelined. Others focused on a perceived change in his appearance, fueling speculation that he had undergone a cosmetic procedure.

On Tuesday, Noah Wyle walked the blue carpet at the Emmys with his wife, Sara Wells. He paired a beige tuxedo jacket with black pleated trousers, a white shirt, and a black bow tie.

But once the 55-year-old actor arrived, attention quickly shifted from his outfit to his hair.

    DEADLINE

On X, several users pointed to a noticeable change in the actor’s hairline, claiming it looked fuller than it had at the previous year’s event. Some users quickly claimed that Wyle had “arrived straight from Turkey.”

“He definitely took a trip to Turkey,” one person said.

Another wrote, “His hairline is screaming for release.”

The ‘Turkey trip’ phrase typically refers to hair transplants and other cosmetic surgeries, which have become popular in Turkey, where they’re relatively affordable and easily accessible.

“He and that turkey hairline are a scam,” a third user commented.

Speculation about Wyle’s hairline began after the first teaser for The Pitt season 3 was released last month.

“Robby’s hair looks like a turkey he visited on his vacation,” one fan said on X.

Some fans argued Wyle didn’t deserve the Best Actor award, while others used the hairline speculation to mock him. The backlash follows Wyle becoming a divisive figure among some viewers late in season 2.

“Paid for that Emmy like he paid for that hair transplant,” an X user commented.

Before the show’s second season concluded, it was announced that actress Supriya Ganesh, who played Dr. Samira Mohan, would leave the series as a regular cast member.

Several fans on social media blamed Wyle for Ganesh’s exit

Although many viewers considered his performance in the season 2 finale Emmy-worthy, Wyle faced further backlash after defending his character’s treatment of his female coworkers, which some viewers described as misogynistic.

During season 2, some viewers criticized the increased focus on Wyle’s character, arguing that it came at the expense of the ensemble dynamic established in the first season.

With Wyle the only member to win a major acting award at this year’s Emmys, some fans feared that the recognition would further overshadow the show’s other characters.

One person claimed, “Apparently diminishing all your female co-stars’ roles to background single-season roles is the way to win big.”

“He has a huge ego. They’re feeding a monster, and this is going to be the downfall of The Pitt,” another added.

Wyle also said he would not take a break after wrapping season 3.

Instead, he would immediately move on to work on season 4. He revealed that the season 4 writers’ room would begin work a week before season 3 production wraps in February 2027.

“By the time we finish shooting, I’m a week late for work,” he said.

The Pitt season 3 is expected to premiere in January 2027, although HBO Max has yet to confirm an exact release date.
