Here I would like to show you my series of abandoned and forgotten churches in the eastern region of Poland. The Orthodox Church, or from Greek, belonging to the Lord. In the Polish language its called "Cerkiew". The Orthodox Church remains Orthodox and Uniate.

I find these abandoned buildings fascinating. What are the stories behind them and why have they been abandoned? Also, how are they in such good condition? In my country these buildings would have been defaced and stripped of anything remotely valuable a long time ago and, probably, become home to vagrants. PS, your avatar gave me a fright, Natalia! 😊
Enjoyed the pictures but between the dead inside logo and the avatar pictures I'm reminded of the Baba Yaga stories I heard from my grandmother. You wouldn't happen to have a lot of brooms would you?
