Guy Takes His Taxi Driver To Theme Park Because He’s Never Visited One In His Life

Liam Murphy seized a unique opportunity to share some joy with a local taxi driver. The test engineer from Cork, Ireland, was in the UAE on a work trip when he decided to travel by cab from Dubai to Abu Dhabi to check out Ferrari World. During the two hour drive, he learned that his taxi driver, Shakiha, had never been to an amusement park, so Murphy decided to do something about it. He bought Shakiha the $61 ticket that would let him come along.
“Every time he drops passengers off he stays in the car for the day,” Murphy told Buzzfeed. “I decided to bring him along for the laugh. He was great entertainment. I bought him some pizza on the way home. His family are in India and he said he sends money home each month. I felt sorry for him.” According to Murphy’s Facebook, it was also Shakiha’s first ride on a rollercoaster.

I did the same to the driver i had when i visited kashmir. Took him everywhere instead of leaving him waiting in the car. We remain friends till now

We took our taxi driver to the movies with us while in Goa, India. :) He helped explaining us the plot during the movie (in Hindi, no subtitles).

Is very nice to meet people when you travel and is even nicer to spend some time with them just for the pleasure to do it. The fact that the indian gentleman was a taxi driver or send money to his family is completely irrelevant. Nice idea, but a poor way of seeing things. I can't help but agree with you Yaman Yamaner, and think that Liam Murphy will not "remain friends" with his taxi driver - he didn't even take the time to learn his full name.
Seriously how do you know this!? On that day he did a kind gesture asked the taxi driver his name and simply treated to a fun day rather than have him waiting for him. It was just that, no more no else! As to whether he got his surname, email etc etc is totally irrelevant. It still more than what most people would do...
