Here Is How Sonic Looks In The New Trailer After People Roasted The Original One
Back in April of this year, we set eyes on the first live-action Sonic the Hedgehog trailer. And although for many fans it was a long-awaited moment, it definitely didn’t live up to the hype. Dozens of posts, memes, and jibes followed the original design of the beloved blue hedgehog that for many was a symbol of their childhood. In fact, the outrage and mockery were so harsh that it prompted the director of the film, Jeff Fowler, to make an announcement on Twitter promising fans that the production will rework Sonic’s design to fit the fans’ expectations.
Sonic just got an updated look in the new Sonic the Hedgehog trailer
Compared to his old design, the new one looks less terrifying
And behold, today is the day. Over half a year passed and now we get to see the result of those promises. The second trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie dropped and people are in a hurry to watch it. Not exactly for the new scenes and material, no. The vast majority is there to see how they redesigned Sonic.
As of now, the video’s like-dislike ratio is 28k likes to 417 dislikes, suggesting a favorable response from the fans. Phew, we bet the team at Paramount can take a well-deserved sigh of relief.
While new memes followed the second trailer, showing off just how much people thought the prospects of the movie were improved by tweaking one blue CGI hedgehog, we must not forget the hard work the animator team must have put in to produce the final product.
The movie is set to be released in the US on February 14, 2020, and stars talents such as Jim Carrey, James Marsden, and Ben Schwartz who’s going to lend his voice to Sonic.
We definitely think the new version is less terrifying than the first one was, but take a look for yourself and tell us what you think!

Here’s how people responded to the new design
They listened to fans, made Sonic look more like Sonic, made it look more like the game character, made the movie seems more fun and less serious than before. Plus they also said the reshot quite a bit to fit in with the new changes. I am happy they listened
At least this one looks like Sonic, I'm glad the maker re-did it. It's cute :D
I think the problem with the first version of Sonic was that the producers tried to make him too realistic. Obviously that didn't work. Glad they made him look more adorable.
Lmbo I'm sorry but what were they thinking with that first design? It barely had a resemblance to Sonic. Now this is way better.
Before I would wait until it was at the library. Now I might be willing to get at a Redbox. There's hope here.
Yeah...but the German voice-over is extremely s****y.... (f**k YouTubers...) I work in this business at it breaks my heart evey time when so called "celebrities" doing work they are not made for. We speakers have skills and an education and they? They are....famous...somehow. *sighs* Sorry, I'm mad as f*ck about that right now.
I FEEL BAD FOR THE PERSON THAT ANIMATED THE WHOLE FLIPPING MOVIE ORIGINALLY
It’s never been a person, don’t worry... it’s a team
Load More Replies...It's better but then, why lower the realism of the fur? Now it seems out of place.
Unfortunately, they haven't replaced Jim Carey for a better Robotnik, or even done anything to make him look like his character.
Well, the scenes are different, the tone is different, and comparsion shows that most of the scenes were reshot to be waaay less pretentious. It's still just a sily video game adaptation but at least not a crime against humanity.
