50 people were shot to death and another 53 people were injured at a popular gay bar, Pulse, in Orlando. The hate crime is written off as domestic terrorism, and the person- sorry, murderer- was caught and identified as Omar Mateen. My hearts go out to each and every one of the people who were killed or injured and their friends and family. America has a lot of fault and controversy surrounding the subject (i.e. Gun problems and people against the LGBT+ community) but I ask anyone and everyone to put aside their feelings and give their condolences. It is truly terrifying that things like this still happen today. RIP, stay safe, and please, please be careful.
The shooter has Islamic background, which adds even more controversy, seeing as America is trying to blame every act of terrorism on Muslims and immigrants. I will not dip into this further, but that could be another reason why it was labeled as domestic terrorism. He often beat his wife for little things, like not doing the laundry, and used an automatic weapon in response to seeing two men kissing. This is awful and is adding even more shit to the fan, (excuse my language). My heart goes out once again to everyone involved, to his wife, and now to the Muslim community as a whole, because this is just strengthening people’s idiotic reason to blame/ban them. I won’t go further awry from what this post is about, please spread the word because it is now the worst shooting in American history, which is quite a lot to live up to, I’m sorry to say.
In LA, a different person at a pride parade was found with bombs and an arsenal of guns in their car. Luckily they were apprehended before anything could happen. It could be linked to the shooting, but authorities are not sure.
