Reporter Can Barely Contain Herself After Her Cats Start Fighting In The Middle Of A Live Broadcast

Live television definitely has its risks considering that the script is mostly out of the window. Surprisingly, the risk multiplies when it’s shot in the reporter’s safest place—home. That is, if the person has children or pets that aren’t aware of how serious the job is. As for the audience, various mishaps might result in a good dose of laughter. As it happened in this case.

When she conducted an interview on live TV, Filipino journalist Doris Bigornia thought it was going to be business as usual. Her cats, however, had a completely different idea that day. A 12-second video that has since gone viral shows the two cats, Bella and Nala, erupt into a sudden fight as Doris tries to maintain her composure.

Bored Panda reached out to Doris’ daughter Nikki for additional comment and she kindly replied with some information. “I’m 28 years old, born and raised in the Philippines,” the woman introduced herself, “daughter of Philippine journalist Doris Bigornia. I work in the mass media communication unit of a private company,” she explained, “and I am a certified animal lover!”

It’s no surprise that this chaotic and hilarious 12-second video garnered millions of views

After the video exploded on Twitter, Doris tweeted in response: “CHILDREN!!!! There is law in the studio!!!!” Her daughter Nikki also shared the video on her social media pages with a caption that said “MY CATS HAVE NO CHILL.”

Ever since my mom started working from home, the cats became a part of their show and viewers would tune in to watch out for the cats,” Nikki told us. “The ‘studio’ where my mom airs via Zoom is actually a place where Edward would always lounge or take a nap and since he’s the boss of the house (HAHA), we would let him stay there—on air or not,” she added.

Nikki told us about her own live reaction to what was going on:

During the ‘fight’ itself, I was actually in another room, monitoring the live show. And when it happened, I didn’t know what to do! I was so fixated and laughing at my babies, but at the same time, I saw my mom panicking! Hahaha! Thankfully, she was able to keep her cool! The cats are fine, by the way! Bella just wanted to groom Nala, but I guess Nala wasn’t in the mood.”

When asked about the kitties, Nikki revealed that she has 4 in total and she told us all about them:

Edward, Bella Luna, Simba, and Nala, two of which are rescued strays—Edward and Simba. Bella Luna is a mixed Persian and Nala is a Bengal. They all came at the right time of my life, where I believe that, as cliché as it may sound, I didn’t save them, they saved me. To me, they aren’t just my cats or pets, they’re my children and my life.”

When they’re not fighting, there’s plenty of time for cuddles

We asked how they reacted to the video going viral and Nikki said that the response has been overwhelming. “I never thought that it would be viral and it would blow up like it did,” she added. “But I’m just glad that we were able to share happiness, love, and positivity to all, especially at this very uncertain and challenging time,” the woman concluded.

Are you serious, Bored Panda? "Can Barely Contain Herself" is hardly a description of this reporter's response; her response was quite mild.

Beyond " quite mild" . Her face showed no reaction at all --- only her looking off to the left. Boring

Cat conspiracy! They'll do what is necessary to keep their human aware that they are the epicenter. *You're talking to a screen?*

Conference call, my cat hovered over the speaker purring. Loudly. If I went to prod her to move, she bit me. So an entire call with the soothing background noise of cat purr. It was the most relaxed conference call ever. I'm convinced all meetings should be conducted to the sound of purring.

As someone who is mentally ill due to cryptosporidiosis, giardiasis, and toxoplasmosis, transmitted by cats, I agree that cats are awesome.
