Photo Experiment Shows The Difference Between Ordinary People And Photographers
589Kviews
Recently, Reddit user 2manyToys uploaded some photos showing the differences between ordinary people and professional photographers.
The photos show that photographers can make an ordinary place look magical with the right light, angle, and just a tad of photo editing. What may look like a block of flats with a couple trees next to it to an ordinary person, could look like a mysterious forest to a photographer. Yeah, of course, any photo looks better when edited, but let’s face it, not everyone has an ‘artistic eye’, which is much needed in photography. Don’t believe me? Take a look below.

Aaaand this is why you shouldn't compare yourselves to the women in the magazines ladies.... optical illusions and a "tad" of photo-editing. We all look the same when we open our camera and its backwards facing, equally as scary!
Get top models to take pictures of each other and show how different they can look

I did - models look beautiful on any kind of cameras or pictures, just follow basic rules of photography and you should be good. art is not making ugly people look beautiful - art is art

"and a "tad" of photo-editing" is not modifyíing shapes, or so. Photo afterwork means the same as the film photography era, adjusting colors, "developing" the photo. Not painting things different as it was on the original. But when you shot yourself with a 35mm equiv. phone, don't wonder that the lens distortions make you look different.
It is just before after idea. And some tools inspire us to make something like that!
Who ever said photo editing was easy? That's part of the professional photog's job.
And if we talk about modifiying, what about makeup? :D It is the real life Photoshop :D
I am a photographer myself and to be honest ... some of the 'you pics' do not look too differently from some originals which photographers then edit in photshop/lightroom/whatever ... it is just not magic! ;) Besides that ... the lenses make the main difference to small digicams or smartphones ... especially with portraits, close ups and macros. Landscapes can be done with an iphone or samsung or whatever - they all deliver solid shots which then can be edited in ps/lr/whatever. ;) 'That guy talks a lot ...' some of you will say! You are right! I do not see myself as a pro or a great photographer or anything ... but I really do like some of my pics myself and if you are curious now ... here you go: www.facebook.com/ArtistAndreasDanzer ;)
I think often it's also the fact that photographers have more of an eye for a certain situation. Many of the photos above are a good example of choosing your framing wisely.
Indeed! Btw I "answered" to this article: https://www.boredpanda.com/i-will-show-you-a-little-secret/
Thank you for saying that! I think that meny wanna be photographers might lost their interest in photohgraphy after seeing photos compared like that. No one was born having knowelage how to take and edit photos, it is hard work to find your own style too! And btw, your photos are great!

Thank you very much! :)
You have cool pictures, keep going!
Thank you very much! :)
Wow! you are a great inspiration! I have done a bit in photography with my phone but not as cool as yours.. Great job! https://www.facebook.com/xenonphotographyofficial/
Thank you very much! I will check out your stuff asap! :)
Someone misses the point completely ... it's not about the gear, it's about the eye .... the photographer shots here are not just more professional looking at first glance, they tightened in on what seem to be scrappy, non interesting scenes, and transform them. They could have been shot in luxury parks, you'd not know. A photographer will get a great shot no matter the equipment, your acerage Joe will still end up with a mess with pro-gear.
nice pictures :) <3 mood photos are one of my favourite... you are working with light with shadows... perspective :) high potential ... great man good luck in a future
Thanks a lot! :)
Haha you got me with your comment. I agree though. I like the photos you take. Check out my page https://www.facebook.com/pacephotographs
I really did not want to advertise my artist page or something ... In the end I just thought that it would make sense, so people see what I mean. :)
But isn't this the whole point of this article? If someone wants good photos, they pay for photographer's way of seeing things, be it SOOC or edited. A lot of people think if they buy a good camera, they'll automatically get good results. It just isn't so. Sure, some people can see good results, which is great and means they have a good eye. But imo that's the minority of them.
Oh sorry, I don't know why my reply was posted so often...
using the same camera by different people would be a better comparison. we'll still see differences.
True this- lighting, lens, camera type, camera settings, time of day, it all makes a massive difference :)
So true! We did a comp of the same photos with a smartphone vs DSLR and the difference is huge! http://www.plasteranddisaster.com/blogging-photography-dslr-vs-the-rest/
Time of year as well.
Advanced photographers will also know which equipment is best suited for the desired look. ;)
Ridiculous. It's not the camera. It's the light, the vision, and using those properly. This guy uses a phone - http://citysnaps.net/showkase/recent/ He's been featured in a major city newspaper and had well-received shows. I shoot mostly concerts, next to people using the same equipment, who come home with dull photos. Give the "lousy" photographers above my gear and they will take the same photos. Give me a phone and I will take photos similar to what I take. Some of mine are here - bangbang.photo. (Mildly NSFW at times)
Often a bad workman blames his tools, right? I think many pics above show that a photographer should have the eye for the right framing. And then even a smartphone camera can be a great tool.
