Depressed Person Texts Pasta Company Instead Of Crisis Line, Doesn’t Expect A Response Like This
No person is immune to depression. It is always lurking around the corner, waiting to sink its claws into whoever it reaches. And when it does, it’s incredibly hard to get rid of the bastard. But there is no shame in asking someone to help you do that. When this guy found himself in yet another low valley, he decided to reach out. But he contacted a pasta company instead of the crisis helpline. And I think it’s safe to say its customer service gave him a response he just didn’t expect. Scroll down to read the most improbable conversation about lasagna there is and let us know what you think about it in the comments.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24/7 if you or someone you know needs urgent help. Call 1-800-273-8255 or go to their official website to live chat with a counselor.
When this guy found himself in yet another low valley, he decided to reach out and contacted… a pasta company
People couldn’t believe how well the employee handled the situation
this speaks to the lasagne in all of us. worker of the year award to her too.
Wow. Slightly odd think to contact the product line, but intelligently and sensitively handled by both parties. Can't say I've ever likened myself to lasagne, but I can so relate!
Let me just give a shout-out to Crisis Text Line, where I volunteer: if you don't have access to a text line to discuss pasta products, you can also text us, at 741741, and we are also available to listen if you're depressed and need to talk to someone. We probably don't know quite as much about lasagna, though. (Although, I dunno, you might be surprised -- some of the other volunteers are pretty darned good cooks....)
This is why we need humans and not machines running our companies.
I worked inbound calls for several years....I was know as Dr j coz I had so many clients end up telling me about their problems...I always took my time with them, despite my manager....
it heartens me to know kindness still exists even when thrust into a situation.
AWESOME !! "You'd be surprised how resilient noodles can be" This is genius, and I hope this lasagna is well cooked today !
I rather liked the way Sarah handled that. Glad to know there are some caring Customer Service people out there! (I work at Zappos.com, so we have awesome CS people too!)
There are lots of gullible people on Bored Panda who will believe these ridiculous stories.
And, it seems, some sad people who need a bit of hope. The world is full of loving, kin people. Open your heart and be surprised!
