One Of The Few Times I Was Horribly Ashamed Of Myself.
I used to frequent a burger joint in Burien, Washington. Usually I was wish friends at a table. This one day I was behind two ladies, maybe ten years older than me. My Gosh! Did they take a long time to order! I was on an hour lunch break and was starting to feel tense.
It was when they turned around after ordering that I realized that were just slightly mentally handicapped. And I imagine what would have been a quick thirty second order for me, was a complicated ordeal for them.
I was shocked at my insensitivity. Since that I have always remembered to allow people in front of me in line to take their time and just to relax.
