20 Photo Of “Mider” , Javanese Tradition Of Celebrating Happy Eid In Indonesia
Once a year Muslims around the world celebrate Eid. Every Muslims, including me, celebrate this special day at their hometown. After fasting Holy month, the last day ends with the Eid prayer and we follow a tradition called “sungkeman”. This tradition is done by apologizing & forgiving the past mistakes made by ourselves (“sungkeman”) with others and visiting our neighbours. In a simple word “mider” is sungkeman + visiting our neigbours. We would meet up with the other neighbours in one house and spend our times together. It is packed yet it brings joy to everyone. I took photos of ”mider” and this is the result.
“Salat al-Eid”

Eid prayers, also known as Salat al-Eid is the special prayers offered to commemorate Islamic festivals traditionally in an open space allocated (musalla or Eidgah) or field available for prayer.
it celebrated on the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal after the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

after the Eid prayer, we do sungkeman against the closest person
“”Saying merry, forgive me for all my mistakes, and ask his blessing prayer.”
Usually, the sentence will be answered with an apology back and connected with a prayer of the elder relatives and shared by the sungkem.
