Navalny Shares What Russian TV Says About Bucha After Nearly 300 Residents Were Found Dead

It’s been over a month since Russia invaded Ukraine, and things are only getting worse. At least 24,000 innocent people have lost their lives; many folks fled the country to escape the atrocities, yet a good deal of citizens stayed behind to support their loved ones.

While none of us can comprehend why such a brutal and inhumane thing is still happening in this day and age, the Russian government is not wasting its time and is busy controlling the naive minds of its people. The country has taken censorship to a new extreme, prohibiting folks from voicing their opinions while also taking over the federal channels to cover up the true consequences of the aggression.

More info: Twitter

Alexey Navalny, perhaps through his team, took it to Twitter to expose the way Russian television delivers information about the ongoing armed conflict, specifically talking about the recent Bucha massacre. The thread received nearly 57K likes and dozens of comments discussing the evilness of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian crisis.

Navalny reports on how Russian TV channels explain the recent massacre

The Russian opposition leader – who was poisoned with a Novichok nerve agent and was later sentenced to 9 years in prison for fraud, though many folks believe this conviction to be politically motivated – came out with a thread expressing his concern for Russian TV propaganda. On the 5th of April, Navalny’s team delivered his thoughts on the recent Bucha tragedy through his personal Twitter account, where Alexey shared how an ordinary Russian TV viewer sees this monstrous event.

Navalny began his thread by explaining that he found out about the horrific events in Bucha just a day before, where he discovered that Russia was convening the United Nations Security Council in connection with the mass killings by Ukrainian Nazis in the city. The man adds that, in the evening, Channel One, which is a main federal channel of the country, went through the situation and that he wouldn’t have believed it if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes.

The channel stated that NATO has been preparing the provocation in Bucha for a long time. Moreover, it’s been mentioned that the current president of the United States has recently called President Putin a butcher – which, no doubt, confirms that the provocation is, in fact, real. The absurdness then continues by the anchor explaining how similar “butcher” and “Bucha” sound in English, hinting that this is exactly how the Western audience was subconsciously prepared for the event – implying that folks will automatically make a connection between Putin being called a butcher and the killings that happened in the city.

Navalny then adds that the number of lies ordinary folks constantly witness on their federal TV channels that were made specifically to keep the citizens connected with the world’s information is truly bewildering. But so is their persuasiveness to those who have no access to alternative sources, or to those who are completely hypnotized by Putin’s false intentions.

Alexey says that the endless but meaningless talk, the anchors have already surpassed the military in their aggressiveness. They demand a war right until the end and they “mop the floor” with their fellow colleagues if they at least hint that, maybe, peace talks are a good idea. The opposition leader shares that politics is a propaganda snake biting its own tail as people create such opinions that don’t simply allow the Russian Government to commit war crimes, but demand it.

Navalny believes that all these people should be treated as war criminals. He then reminds his followers that the National Media Group is also responsible for the amount of lies that circle around Russia, which he thinks is owned by Putin himself, as it was formally headed by his mistress – Alina Kabaeva. The man says that extreme measures should be applied to make the work of these people difficult, for instance, a complete ban on the supply of their equipment.

Alexey finishes his emotional thread by saying that the horrific crimes that were committed in Bucha, Irpin and other Ukrainian cities are the responsibility not only of those who tied the poor people’s hands, but also of those who stood by and encouraged such a monstrosity.

Even if the truth was presented to the Russian people via other media, many would still believe the propaganda. Almost half of Republicans in this country believe that Trump won, in spite of the overwhelming and readily available evidence to the contrary.

Sadly true. To give up one's conspiracy theory is to surrender a sense of safety. I'd rather be scared and know facts. Or know facts and get scared by them.

Take note, the social media censorship in the USA is dangerous and this type of situation highlights why. We need to keep our country censorship free, REGARDLESS of your political opinion.

Wait, Navalny is still alive and is in prison (the f)? Can't believe the world isn't holding Putin accountable for what he did to him and for not playing fair at Election. That would save Ukraine if Navalny became the next president of Russia, unfortunately.

Even families are divided. There was a news report interview with a woman who lives in Ukraine, when she spoke on the phone to her mother, who lives in Russia, even her own mother didn't believe she was telling the truth! Brainwashed to the max. The language the Russian media, in every form, is beginning to refer to the Ukrainians the way the Nazis referred to Jews in WWII. Terrifying. I've said before on here, but especially now. Read "On Tyrrany" by Timothy Snyder. It's a short book, but PLEASE read it. I am also having an opportunity to watch "Servant of the People". When you juxtapose that with what's happening now🤯🤬,

Tim Snyder is a terrible historian, having become far more of a pop history pundit. That book is an excellent example and is really quite bad.

it is not new. Germany had a minister for Propaganda. Holiday camps were created where people got indoctrinated (Prora), .... And after years of hearing the wrong information, people will ignore the few true messages that get through. If somebody believes that the earth is flat, it's impossible to tell them otherwise. The same for Trump or Putin fans...

This brings back the nightmares of the genocides in Botswana. Two rival family groups, one side backed hy a rich and powerful man who used the media to convince people to literally walk around with macheties and slaughter the entire other family across the whole country while they walked the dirt roads innocently.

What? Botswana? But Navalny refers to the Hutu-on-Tutsi genocide in Rwanda, with the "Thousand Hills Radio" ("Radio Milles Collines").

This is nothing special. Just look at the situation in the US and how Fox News are giving twisted "news" to its followers. It's the same s**t, just with different backgrounds.

It's easy to denounce the Russian propaganda, but how many Americans cheered for the war in Iraq where hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were killed for no (good) reason?

“Of course the people don’t want war. But after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it’s a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.” — Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

Gas money from Germany is funding war in Ukraine. If Germany is unwilling to stop, we should boycott German products.

You are an idiot, seriously. Germany is already doing everything that can be done to sever those ties, and that has been decided over a month ago! But it can't be done over night The Greens in our new government have been advocating for getting rid of Russian gas for years. But even they acknowledge that it will take about a year to implement, if everything goes well. Meanwhile our cities are filling up with Ukranian refugees btw.

Indeed, Navalny would hardly be an improvement. I decided to do some open source research on the guy, and aside from sharing the treatment all Putin's enemies get, he is also a deeply racist, right wing authoritarian that would probably be indistinguishable from Putin, except he is not in power. After reading about him I had the feeling that his anti-corruption rhetoric was mostly because he wasn't getting the money. He is not a friend of democracy.

I hate what Bored Panda has become and this will be my last post here. This is not a simple war, aggression, as media presents it. This is very complicated military and political war between USA and Russia where civilians on both sides are just collateral damage. It is interesting however, how everything is one sided. Obama got award for "World peace" while during his president years USA attacked 7 countries! Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia! Before that there was Yugoslavia, Serbia, and Vietnam before. But, it's ok when "we do it", not some country we hate? Right? If we are going to condemn attacks and aggression why are some countries "immune" and some are not? So it's ok to attack as long as you are "nice", have lovely propaganda, and you attack Muslims or Balkan? It's nice as long as Hollywood presents you as "good guys" and attacked countries as "bad"? Maybe handful of countries have no blood in their history. Condemn aggression but be fair, condemn all!

Sorry, but don't you dare judge another country until you look after your own backyard. Canada is a litteral joke right now run by a clown. A clown who had the audacity to preach freedom and rights to the empty UN. Yet many Canadians condemn Russia's actions. Did you forget the authoritarian rule? Did you forget the trampled citizens in a legally ( finally proved) peaceful protest? Did you forget the lies ( that were debunked) and freezing if the funding sites? Or the bank accounts of ordinary citizens who supported a worthy cause. People who couldn't buy groceries, let alone pay mortgages all because our tyrant was hiding away and having a hissy fit. You were cowards to these actions here, yet you FIERCELY condemn Putin. You hypocrites are disgusting, niave and quite frankly ignorant. I feel shame for you. Not anger.
