My Son Lost His Daddy To Heroin…help!

My son lost his father to an accidental overdose on Christmas Eve 2012. They were incredibly close but my son was young. He’s now about to be 13 and has questions for me. I’ve always been honest with him about the circumstances but I’m terrified. If you look at the statistics, they are staggering!!! It’s upwards of 90% of children’s who’s parent abused drugs are that much more likely to. I need some advice please!!!

Share on FacebookJust continue to be truthful. You will be surprised how mature kids can be. Try and avoid showing his dad in bad light. Explain to him how drugs are bad.. you'll do fine. My father was a heavy smoker and drinker. But even at 36 I'm a tetotaler and non smoker. Teach your kid it is ok to say no and it's still cool if you don't give in to pear pressure which I think would be your concern now. Good luck to you.. God bless you.
