Before & After Kids Comics Reveal How You Begin To Look Like A Mom

A lot of things change when you become a mom – your daily schedule, your responsibilities, even the way you look.

“I was looking at old pictures the other day and noticed how much I changed after I had children,” illustrator Weng Chen, also known as Messy Cow, wrote. “I reflected on my experience and made this comic to share with you.” The illustrations not only perfectly depict the changes of before and after becoming a mom, but they’re funny and relatable too! Just take a look below and see for yourselves.

Thank you for this! I always find those and-now-you-look-like-old-news-because-you're-a-mom-stories rather annoying, especially because of how accurate they sometimes are. Seeing your comics, I realised why I find them not quite right: Because they only tell half the story! It's true, I care much less how I look or how others perceive me, but I feel better grounded, more loving and loved than ever before. From the outside this might look like greasy hair and ill-fitting clothes. Thanks for also giving a glimpse of the "inside" of that picture!

I'm a mum of a two year old... I didn't want to turn into one of "those mums" so I go to the gym 3 times a week, I brought new clothes for my new body shape, i make sure i go to the hairdresser at least once every 4/5 months. I take pride in how I look and how I look after myself because I want my daughter to do the same.

You go girl! Looking like the media's expectation of "sexy" is a bunch of shallow, vicious bollocks anyways. Keep being awesome, magnificent, badass you - your kids love you for it, and so does anyone else with a good head on their shoulders!

Why do you get wood chips in your shoes now that you're a mother?

Because a lot of playgrounds have wood chips instead of sand or grass. And a mom spends a lot of time at playgrounds with her kids

Honestly, when i was a little girl, i dreamed that my mom would dress up, wear make up and take care of herself. Don't you think that your kids deserve beautiful mom? I love my mom, but i did not have an example when i was growing up to be a woman.

Really cute drawings. Too bad about the spelling and grammar mistakes.
