Maybelline has a new campaign face and for the first time ever it’s a guy!
Named Manny Gutierrez, the 25-year-old is a so-called “beauty boy” that posts make-up tutorials to his millions of followers. “As a child, I would watch my mom get ready for work and just sit there for hours watching her transform,” he told Teen Vogue in 2016. “However, it wasn’t until much later on that I really started to dabble in makeup myself.” And we must say, he’s pretty good! With over 3 million followers on Instagram and 2 million subscribers on Youtube, no wonder this guy is the newest face of Maybelline!

Share on FacebookNot to be negative, but while this is a victory in the gender equality column, It's a marketing move by Maybelline, not a social one.
Yes indeed, it's creating buzz which is good for business. However, it isn't making me want to go buy makeup. But I'm not the demographic.
Load More Replies...It's sort of weird to see guys wearing makeup. I mean I don't think that amount of makeup looks good on females either though
Rock stars do that since decades ago. And K-pop stars too actually. I get your point, though.
Load More Replies...I think it's great. Their market demographic, young women, are used to seeing guys in make up at Sephora, on Instagram on YouTube a fair percentage of the beauty bloggers out there are male, and even among their peers so it's a great marketing idea & hey I'm all for it to. To Quote Wayne Goss, another male beauty blogger, it's only make up.
The makeup is beautiful and flawless. I greatly admire people who have the artistic abilities to create great makeup effects, male or female. It's too bad the campaign line is focused on mascara though because he's obviously wearing false eyelashes in every single shot.
every person on this world is more cute without that sh¨t called makeup .. :/
Load More Replies...Seeing some "anti-guy-make-up" posts down here, I have to write the following, even if it's a bit unrelated to the article. Make-up doesn't neccessarily make a man feminine. So many male celebrities around the world wear make-up, but I bet you don't even notice. The thing is, there are various make-up styles for various kinds of looks. And no, it's not even always a neutral look, for many rock and pop stars obviously wear mascaras, and eyeshadows, eyeliners, lipsticks, face-paint etc., and still look masculine. This boy in this advert, he looks feminine because he likes it this way, but not all guys who wear make-up look, or aim to look, like females.
If wearing makeup makes him happy - let him do it! It's not hurting anyone. I always think if you're not hurting anyone or making anyone else unhappy, then do anything that makes YOU happy. Who decided that boys can't wear makeup? Why does it bother anyone? It shouldn't! Let's get a little tolerance in the world everyone. Those that are annoyed/disgusted/angry at looking at him wearing makeup, what does that say about YOU?
The problem is that maybelline showing that as a big fkn deal. And this is the problem by itself that people actually care about such things instead of something really interesting or more meaningfull

Lash inserts still used and none of us will probably achieve that look using ANY mascara alone... So nothing really different in their ads.
I can easily achieve those lashes with nothing but the help of a it of regular mascara, actually.
Load More Replies...Nice to see! He really is an exceptional make up artist and I find him pretty funny as well in his youtube videos.
So this must be a thing now. I was really confused (and amazed) when I saw a guy in full-blown makeup, Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag, skinny jeans and a full beard in a grocery store. I mean he was beautiful. His makeup skills were superb. I just didn't get the beard thing. But whatever they do, it's their rights.
He's gorgeous! Love the full face make-up with a little cheeky stubble!
When I see a GUY in such sexy makeup I start to think that someone tries to affect on my heterosexuality (or at least test it).
If those lashes are real and that's just mascara, I'm the Queen of England. *Pleasedon'tbefakespleaseplease*
It's a boy. A very handsome/pretty one at that!

If it supposed to be a male make-up why did they sminked him as a woman?
and all the neo feminism now defend the bizzare guy , he could be good on makeup but is for womens .. and also the makeup is a fake ilusion of beauty maybelline you do it again
Makeup may be marketed towards woman, but if a man wants to wear makeup then let him. He looks gorgeous anyways.
Load More Replies...I'm all up for equality but personally, I think they should just stick with a woman. He can do whatever he wants but I'd rather see a lady.
Makes perfect sense to me to have a guy advertise mascara, nearly every guy I know has incredible lashes, I often wondered if it is because we are constantly pulling at ours if we stunt their growth. Someone said all celebrities wear make up, if on camera usually EVERYONE wears make up, it is because of lighting and how the face is picked up...without the added make up they wash out on film. If people are going to pick on males for wearing make up, and mention other cultures, maybe look into the cultures, because I seem to remember a lot of make up worn by leaders, Kings etc in many of those same countries in historical information. In the times of Mozart Men wore more make up than women in many cases, it even lead to death because of the amount of poison they contained. Also remember all female roles in theater back in the day played by Men wearing make up and in no way did it have anything to do with sexuality.
Time for "Podesta pizza" or a "chicken" (killed for Moloch). A "spirit-coocking" make-up . Where is the husband of Barry Soetoro, Michael Bombama ? Ave Allah! https://i.redditmedia.com/XXY0aFj4I8pjptK_MZklliexfJ8Z8IL0mBvPmLbvIlI.jpg?w=512&s=4512cbf8e62065c8c68004fb0c37ef95
By all means, men should marginalize and replace women as much as humanly possible. And fake wombs are just around the corner., so soon they won't be needed at all. It's the misogynist new world order way!
NEWS FLASH: Manny stay a man you are much better looking as God intended you to be. NEWS FLASH 2: I'll not buy Covergirl make up again... go sell it to the gender equality market. It makes me want to throw up!
Well, hon, yes god made us the way we are, including personality, so if he wants to wear make up let him. And, I'm sure you're all doing us a favor by not putting make up on, use that vomit instead
Load More Replies...hm, and why does a man have to be completely masculine to be beautiful?
