The spookiest night of the year is coming and kids everywhere are getting ready for the joys of trick-or-treating whilst their parents are concerned about the special costumes their kids will be wearing. Even though it may seem that usually parents get to pick from a huge variety of Halloween costumes, there are some who just recently were given a chance to choose.
In the last few years, we’ve seen an inspiring surge in inclusive Halloween costumes for the little ones with disabilities which perfectly transform everything from walkers to wheelchairs into magical Halloween costume details. And while before this magic happened with the help of creative non-profits or artistic parents, now it’s more accessible thanks to Target.

This year, the retailer announced a new Halloween costume line adapted for children with disabilities with an inspiring purpose so that every child could participate in the festival holiday. Target unveiled the four inclusive costumes with two wheelchair cover options to its Hyde and Eek! Boutique, a truly treasury trove of spooky Halloween goodies and get-ups.

The wheelchair-friendly covers include designs of an enchanting carriage for charming princesses and a pirate ship completed with its own pirate flag for adventurous pirates. This easily transforms a child’s wheelchair into a magical adventure and certainly gets into the festive mood and celebration! The costumes are easy for wheelchair users to put on and take off and the coverings are easily attachable using hook-and-loop closures.

In addition to designs for children in wheelchairs, Target also added inclusive costumes for kids with special sensory sensitivities. The super-soft unicorn and shark costumes feature flat seams, no tags and both are equipped with a well-hidden opening in the front pocket for convenient abdominal access if needed.
