We’ve all heard it. “Ugh! I’m so depressed! I don’t want to be at work/school/wherever!”,but they don’t really know how it feels, and they don’t want to. Depression can put you in a really dark place. It can make you feel worthless, not important, not good at anything, a disappointment, a failure, ugly, messed up, and like no one cares, but all you would have to do is fake a smile and say an “I’m fine” or and “I’m just tired.” Yeah. I’m tired. Tired of feeling worthless. Tired of hurting. Tired of not being able to sleep. Tired of feeling alone. Tired of feeling like I don’t matter. But, y’all know, just tired. People think they have it figured out. The ones who wear dark clothing. The ones that are always crying and sad. The ones who are isolated and have no friends. While this may be true in some cases, it’s not always. It could be the straight A student, the one always surrounded by friends. The one that always seems to be laughing, and the one with such a bubbly personality. It’s all a cover. Pretend. And no one will understand. It can make you care too much or care too little. It can make you feel like a burden to others or no one cares. Sometimes all you can say is, “I’m sorry.”
