I’ll Never Forget The Scent

I worked in the Oncology Department at a large hospital. A new patient came for a referral for radiation therapy. She reeked of Tigress perfume but was a very nice lady. She was bandaged with gauze around her entire chest area. I went to unwrap her and after finally getting to the end her breast, necrotic and smelling of rotted flesh fell off of her into my hands. That’s why she doused herself with perfume. She was married and I wondered how her husband wasn’t aware of her condition. She was afraid to go to a doctor for fear she had breast cancer and just ignored it till it got smelly and painful. And yes it was cancer.
