I've make hard to spot birdhouses as part of my ongoing street art project Happy City Birds.
I made all the houses from recycled plywood and painted them using different techniques to make them blend in with their surroundings.

hahaha :). oh if you are serious ? birds are expert at finding safe places. Is how they survive at all.
Load More Replies...Took me a bit too long to find it (without looking at the second image of course)
It's a good hiding work but I don'tknow if any bird would live in sucha a noisy , unquiet an unsave place....
Everywhere in the city is noisy and unsafe. At least they made a birdhouse to make it slightly better! ;D
Load More Replies...The fact this person even took the time and effort to make sure every last detail was right is amazing!
I hope you got the human residents' permission ? .. birds can make a hell of a mess. Personally I would ask for that NOT over a door.
What if it's the photographer's house? Or one of a relative?
Load More Replies...This is just for show, not really for birds. Come on, a birdhouse on a traffic sign next to a road?
Wet have a bird living in a stop sign pole down the road. Nothing "show" about it.
Load More Replies...You can't see the first photo without the second one, these are so well made!
If a sandbag holds it while while at a construction site then yeah, I'd say that's as temporary as it gets. I really hope this one is supposed to be tongue in cheek and no bird can actually get in there and start making a nest.
Load More Replies...Wow, such care and thoughtfulness goes into the preparation of each piece. Very impressive!
If the humans are sensible, why not along the fence as well ? I worry that the bricks will retain coldness in winter heat in summer and cause the eggs to fail ( aka die).
There are lots of bird-houses specifically on (brick)walls, so I don't think there is much danger for the nest from a brick. If the place is too sunny, the birds won't use the house anyway (birds can be damn picky! Turn the house only slightly wrong and it will stay empty while your neighbour will have all the cute little birdlings :-( )
Load More Replies...Lovely. So long as the babies don't get cooked when the fire is going inside that chimney..... To be safe I would have put it on teh wall....
You are aware that birds have babies in spring or summer, right? So the chances of a nice, cozy fire are pretty low. And if it does get so cold you need a fire in summer, the birds will surely be glad that they don't freeze
Load More Replies...WE KNOW ALREADY! You’ve commented this on basically every photo on this post.
Load More Replies...You're so right. They will be furious that there's bird-droppings on their throwaway furniture.
Load More Replies...I love the half & half birdhouses, one half being one thing and the other half being another. The art is amazing!
Why don't you try to make the perfectly safe birdhouse? I don't think you can. Unless you can, stop judging every picture.
Load More Replies...eeeugh... how many times have birds flown into those windows... and then found themselves in a new house
But, if a bird takes up residence, how cool would that be to see how he/she makes a nest, etc.? Especially from your office and the bird doesn’t even know you’re there.
Why so negative? I just thought it would be cool to observe without disturbing what birds do naturally.
Load More Replies...more an art installation than anything... this will cause dead birds. Needs ultra violet bird decals.
I don't think the birdhouse makes it much worse, since the birds will die against those windows anyway :-(
Load More Replies...Some are cool, and some are useless for birds, because of their location.
Ask your teacher about birds. They clearly haven't covered ornithology and that's a shame. There's a lot to be learned from and about birds, so seriously, ask your educators to explain bird nesting behavior. You'll be surprised at how adaptable and adept nature can be.
Load More Replies...A lot of this is quite dangerous for birds... the best places are away from cats, roads, and windows without decals. City parks and backyard gardens are much better than busy roadways, convenience stores, porches, and glass windows as either the parents will die or they will abandon their eggs or chicks out of stress. At least the birdhouses should be much higher up.
Creative and all, but whats wrong with birds? Why do they have to be hidden?
Yes I will repeat myself. I have concerns with the placement of several of these. 1. So long as the humans are going to be ok with this. Birds will leave droppings ..and some humans can be totally cruel and remove the nest -birds and eggs and babies and all.
2. Lovely to look out a window and watch a bird family, but Birds cannot see windows the way we see them, There are ways to reduce this.
Load More Replies...the builder is a very busy person. I wonder if he asks permission or just puts them up?
