Star Wars sucks. In my house, it’s actually Star Wars vs. Marvel, not Marvel vs. D.C. or Star Wars vs. Star Trek. I will die on the hill that Marvel is superior to Star Wars.
I've actually never understood Star Wars vs Star Trek. They are very different franchises. One is a space fantasy with space wizards, and the other is science fiction. It really comes down to, are you a science fiction fan, or a fantasy fan. I prefer the former. You can like both too, but I've never been huge into fantasy movies. Marvel and DC aren't much different, it's just Fascist Fantasy. There is a race of Uber-men who will take care of the running the world for you and keeping you safe. They will meet out justice on your behalf, so you don't have to burden yourself with things like judicial process. The status quo will be protected, just stay home, and stay out of the way. I do like the ones that don't take themselves seriously though. Guardians and Thor are funny.
