This has always been a question bugging me because I can’t read people’s thoughts.

Any type of instructional videos on YouTube. Listen, I don't need your life story before you get to the actual instructional part. Just get on with it.
Yes, some people babble on for half the video before getting to the point.
Isn't any potential payment at least partially based on length of video? I would imagine that is the reason. Same deal with recipes!
Oh uh sorry if i kinda copied yours. If i did i didn't mean to
Hey. You. Online recipe people. I. DON'T. CARE. ABOUT. YOUR. BACKSTORY. Why can't you just say, "get some butter," but NOOOO. IT ALL HAS TO START ON A LITTLE FARM IN TENNESSEE. Sorry, it just kinda annoys me.
That's why I use my Alexa she literally walks you through step by step and won't continue until you tell her too. No back story no BS. Just "get butter"
News stories start out this way now too. " If you take this medicine FDA says to stop immediately", and you have to read the whole column before they tell you what it is.
People who are antivaxxers and tweet about it. Just because YOU don't want a vaccine you don't need to spread lies online to discourage others from getting vaccinated.
It's like some religious people, they believe it and believe it's their work to convince and convert others...
Anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers alike. Both have evidence supporting their efficacy yet people are still out there pushing unfounded lies. The way I see it, a significant portion of both are, at least in the U.S., of the same camp that supports anti-abortion laws that would bring murder charges upon mothers and their doctors so as to "save the children". If they're so goddamned behind this (really only important when it's election time) they should support murder charges being brought against any person who doesn't take action (vaccines and masks) that is proven to minimize viral impact upon others, ESPECIALLY the f*****g children that they supposedly care so much about. Whether they be family, friends, acquaintances or complete strangers, I'm to the point now with Covid that I don't care whether they live or die. They, just as with each of us, owe a responsibility to society to act and interact with a sense of shared responsibility and courtesy. Your rights end where mine begin.
I don't mind if someone refuse to vaccinate and have strong, supporting reasons and evidence to do so, but most of their "arguments" and "facts" are just pure lie, after lie, after lie or they specifically add "facts" to true story for it to sound more scary. Oh, and somehow seems that in my country (of 2,7 million people), all antivaxxers have at least 2-3 relatives or friends who died after vaccines and they are all sick for months and months after vaccine, gets paralyzed, loose eyesight and so on. But somehow vaxxers don't have such relatives or friends, neither side effects like that :D
My husband has gotten into countless arguements with friends and coworkers that he finds to be spreading misinformation. He comes home and tells me about their ridiculous opinions and rationale... which gets me feeling all kinds of fired up for some debate with those morons. I keep waiting for one of his friends to bring it up in front of me, but they never do... then again, I'm an RN on a covid unit and they have to know that I'd completely shut that stupid bullshit down. People can try to get away with pretending their "opinions" are "facts"... that is, until they encounter someone who actually happens to have them.
I would like to suggest that priority be given to people who have already been vaccinated and are in need of immediate life-giving healthcare (cancer sufferers, etc) Instead of anti-VAXers who take up precious resources, endanger healthcare providers and now see the “light”.
then you have to start saying the same for obese people, smokers, people who drink too much on the weekend, etc...
Load More Replies...They are doing exactly what the vaxxers are doing by stating who they are and why.
Because it is literally saving your life and everyone else's, dumbass
Load More Replies...I'm getting bullied at school and the principal told me that I need to try an dress normal so I get left alone. Victim blaming it's not fun and my confidence is way down and i'm borderline depressed right now. So one help me out please.
I think you should attend the next school board meeting and address bullying in your school unless you think that would make it worse. If so, consider making an appointment with the president of your county school board, and the PTA and speak with them about bullying. If you can go with some allies, all the better. It's difficult in today's climate to know what will make it better, or worse, you'd be the best judge of that, but keep talking about it to anyone who will listen. Shame on your principal. I don't care if you show up wearing a tin foil hat, no one should be bullied.
Different is awesome. You're just ahead of your time qt the moment. People think they can bully you into changing, and it doesn't get too much better as you get older unfortunately. Keep being you. I know it's easy to say and hard to do. I've been there. Don't give them a reaction. Keep your head up, and look at yourself everyday and find something you like, remember adults aren't always right. I have dark skin and green hair at the moment, people like ut and some tell me to dye it back black, I still get up and dress and wear what I want, as long as I don't violate the dress code as work. I'm sure you have people at your school that WISH they were as brave as you to be themselves, to step out.
Pale skinned person here. I think that dark skin and bright colors are Awesome together. Great reply to Op!
Load More Replies...Tell the principal that you need them to put in writing how the bullying is going to be dealt with, including a detailed description of how you can better dress yourself. If they are stupid enough to do that, get your parents to contact a lawyer (even a 'no-win-no-fee' lawyer would be happy to take that case).
I'm being bullied and harassed as an adult by my neighbour. Hang in there and I will try too. It REALLY sucks and I have days where I want to run into traffic. People are just horrible. In a bad day at the moment. I should stop now
Find out if you need 2 party consent to video, or if you can video with out it. Then get it on tape. Take it to the police. If they are doing this on your property, you will have more rights. Look into it.
Load More Replies...Aw listen, most people are on your side. Bullying is never OK. Once when I was about 7 years old some boys would run after me as I biked home after school, and grab my school bag off the back of my bike. When I told my mother, she said, Just keep going don't stop. The next time I did that and they ran after me calling here's your bag! That stopped them doing it. I guess it doesn't help you, but I learned from that, bullies are really weak inside and maybe you can keep strong inside yourself and beat them that way. Good luck.
When you're still in school, it's literally the only time in your life when you can dress the way you like. I have a huge problem with students and teachers alike picking on someone for expressing themselves. It doesn't matter whether they agree or disagree with the way you're expressing yourself; they should still support you. (Just like I don't agree with everything everyone says, but I'll still defend their right to free speech.)
Adults aren't always right, and it sounds like your principal is doing a very poor job for you. I was bullied too, so I do feel sympathy for you. Hang on to who you are, don't let anyone take that away from you. Also, I'm wondering if your parents can support you?
Wow, why aren't your parents at that office? I would be there so fast. And no you are NOT to blame and please listen when I tell you that ignore the bullying I know that's harder said than done, but trust me in a few short years you are going to realize nothing they said ever mattered and you won't even remember who they were. The best thing is to act like it doesn't bother you. Remember: Bullies bully because that's how they were either taught or are trying to make up for something else in their lives.
Bullies need to assert power over others to be able to feel.good about themselves. How do you assert power over someone? By making them suffer. People who do this are weak and would not endure it anywhere near as bravely as you have. You do not need to seek gratification by hurting others. YOU are strong, they are weak. They have maybe greater physical strength than you or the transient power of numbers. But your personality is stronger than all of theirs put together. You could try telling the truth in front of others "I know what you're doing and so does everyone. You can only feel good when you're hurting someone, that's sad and pathetic and weak-minded. And it's because there is nothing about yourself to feel good about"
The hypocrisy of the republican party in the united states and their followers blows my mind. I get it that the democrats aren't any better but damn it's so obvious. I read about a horse medication that people are trying to use for covid. So we have a fully cleared medical vaccine and people would rather take a horse dewormer instead? The USA just pulled out of Afghanistan. Messy no matter who would be president. But trump and his stooges turn a blind eye that they were the ones who made the deal in the first place. The 2nd amendment is only good as long as your a white male. Back in the early 80's California banned open carry of firearms that are loaded. The governor at the time said that any honest citizen doesn't need a loaded gun in public. The governor was Ronald Reagan. The prophet of the republican party.
Yeah, maybe the orange buffoon's deal to release 5,000 Taliban prisoners before evacuating wasn't the best idea he ever had. Also republicans pearl clutching with Afghanistan is completely different than their reaction when cheeto puff pulled out of Syria at the bidding of his master, Putin.
Everything in your rant is the cause of a rant of my own. Politicians in the U.S. care about nothing more than fomenting confrontation and rage between their constituents and those of their opposing party equals. They care NOTHING about what is actually happening unless it is something that can provide ammunition for confrontation or rage. Unfortunately this environment isn't owned entirely by the politicians. I'm willing to say that our current environment is 90% owned by the constituency because THEY are the ones who continue to feed on the lies (now the PC word is misinformation) of their respective and chosen party. I've listened all my life to people who bitch and moan about how politicians never do the right thing yet the action performed by these same people is to vote the same politicians back in for, effectively, lifetime service all the same. Quit bitching unless you're actually willing to force change in the political realm.
I opened up this comment section prepared for the worst, but I quickly realized I wasn't prepared enough
So the Iran nuclear deal that president Obama made which trump poo poo on as the worst deal ever which tried to keep Iran in check and under control was garbage but when trump tries the same it's beautiful? Is it only good when a republican does it or when a white man makes the deal? ( That is if trump can be considered white and a male)

Load More Replies...Ivermectin. I am so royally pissed off about this. I have goats, and am in a state that has had way too much rain this year. The result is that parasitic worms are horrible this year. But some a** wipe decided that this livestock dewormer could cure covid. The covid is rising almost exponentially because you idiots won't get vaccinated, and you don't wear masks, because it infringes on your rights, but you want to injest a chemical you know nothing about because some uneducated influencer tells you to? How Stupid are you people? Meanwhile I still need to worm my goats, and 1/3 of the dewormer cocktail I give them is not available. Thank-you so much for making it impossible to take proper care of my animals. ( last sentence was Sarcasm) If I can't get rid of the worms some may very well die of anemia. It will be your fault. Grow a brain! It's too late to grow a heart. You obviously only care about yourselves.
Ugh, I honestly hadn't thought about that impact of the whole livestock-medication issue. I feel like that last sentence just sums up everything about what's going on right now... some people literally only care about themselves and are therefore making stuff a lot worse for people around them.
God, it's a lot like how you couldn't find TP or hand sanitizer for a while after this plague started. And for the same reasons: hoarding, self-centered fucktards who tend to have room-temperature IQs.
Load More Replies...Sorry. Hope things get better. Meanwhile google; "worming goats with ground cayenne pepper". I don't have the formula but it's easy to find.
Haven't seen that one. But there is one that calls for a basic soap. And another that says to use diatomaceous earth. And another that says.... it is very hard to know which of these are really helpful. I have a hard time believing what I find on the internet. I've seen too many examples of bad info. I do very much appreciate the thought though.
Load More Replies...When what you do impacts other in a negative way it Is your responsibility. Covid numbers would Not be surging right now if more people had gotten vaccinated. Or were willing to wear masks. Yes, my body my choice. But I also feel that it is my responsibility to Not make others sick with a Deadly disease. It is Such a simple thing to do. Look out for others. However you can. It doesn't mean you have to live in their pockets, or go to their churches. Or drive the same cars. Just have respect for your neighbors, and strangers. That is what living in society is about. It is caring about the others within that society.

No, I like that yours is not political. Besides the question was what do you want to rant about. Never apologize for being yourself!
Those sneaky, evil little zips!!! Always hiding themselves and letting you struggle, instead of be open and honest about their purpose. I hope you gave them what for!!!
It's OK. Your frustration is still valid even if it was trivial and fleeting. It's more than OK, it's healthy to acknowledge your feelings, well, just not loudly nor endangering others. So. You did good and dress problem sorted. :)
Hey, rant away, I would be major pissed too if I tried to get into something and later found a zip. If it was me, it would be odds on that I wouldn't have found the zip until I had ripped the dress.

It truly is the advent of technologies brought about within the last 100 or so years that have put us in the position we face today. In so many different ways we've created ways to almost completely erase the checks and balances imposed by the natural world.
100 years ago?? Maybe if you were a white colonizer...not the natives (savages, barbarians, etc) who had their civilization, language, history destroyed, their people enslaved and forcibly converted to the colonizers religion, their lands stolen and in the case of North America, their food source, the bison practically eliminated.

People don't get bullied because they dress weirdly or because they're not empowered. They get bullied because someone is bullying them.
Wait! I have another one! Writing an answer for an "Ask Pandas" question (such as this), clicking the "Publish" button, and then suddenly discovering some grammatical error or typo that you made and can now never ever fix! Utterly frustrating!
Look at all the masks blowing around on the streets and in parking lots! Can't people pick them up if they drop them, sheesh!
A good amount of all trash is because people are not aware that they dropped something. Secondly, I'm not picking up anyone else's mask
A assure you they don't drop them, they just dispose of them on the street. We live alongside country road, not frequently used, but I still collect bin bag full of McD wrappers every week from our garden. Those are not "accidentaly dropped this out of my car window".
That's awful, it's "someone elses" problem, what a terrible attitude. How hard is it to keep a sack in your car for garbage?

Probably not considered a big issue, but I hate it when teachers have blatant favouritism. I know having favourite students will be inevitable, but when you ignore most of the class to only communicate to a couple of students, it’s really upsetting.
Huge problem in my son's elementary school. We skipped 6th graduation, because the same kids got all the awards, regardless of if they earned it. Other parents wished they had done the same. No matter what his grade was based on rubric, his report card grades were lower. The excuses were pathetic.
Omg this post is a blessing. Ok here goes...PEOPLE IN GROUP PROJECTS WHO DO NOTHING!!! Why do they get the same grade even if they don't know what they're doing?! And what's just as bad is the control freak that deletes everyone else's work! And then they blame others for not contributing like wtf. So in each type of group project group, there's always someone blaming you for being the other type of person, if that makes sense. So you'll be in a group where the others are slacking off, but they say you're a control freak and doing all the work. But when you're in a group where someone IS a control freak, they say you're slacking off. I hate this.
I saw this a few months ago - "I want the people I was in group projects with to be my pallbearers so they can let me down one last time."
Teachers often pair the "smart kids" with the less (not trying to be rude) cooperative (I can't think of the word? They don't participate) As the "smart kid" I would stay up late doing the work the other kids didn't so I didn't get a bar grade. I know I was sometimes controlling, but c'mon, it was needed. So anyway the conclusion of this is that I think the teachers should pair the "smart kids" together so the others who would usually slack off actually do some work. And if they don't, then they get a bad grade. They could use that as a lesson.
I really hate group projects! Only Lazy teachers that don't want to do their jobs ask for group projects. Easy for them to read one group paper than actually DO THEIR JOBS and READ EVERYONE'S papers. Uff
Group projects are not really a thing in the UK, in-so-much as they don't contribute to your grade.
This happened to me once. A year ago, I had a group project, and we had to do it in partners that were already preselected. The other person did not do anything, and I worked my butt off doing all of the work. Later, to teach her a lesson, I had her present half of the slides, and she had no clue what she was supposed to be talking about. I thought she’d learned her lesson, but again, a few months later, we had to do another group project again, and I got stuck with her. Again she didn’t do anything. It’s bitches like these that ruin everybody’s grade.
People who tailgate, especially if you are behind a vehicle going under the speed limit. Like what do you expect me to do? Push the lead car? People standing too close at the check out. Even with the pandemic there are people who literally bump their cart into you while you are checking out. Those who stare when a person is upset. Specifically when my mini munchkin is in meltdown mode. I'm doing my darndest to find a quite place or find the nearest exit and you staring or glaring at us is NOT helping. Litter, especially when a trash bin is within sight of where the person dropped their trash. People dumping animals. Nobody can predict what may happen and sometimes a person absolutely cannot keep a pet, but most vet clinics will take in a pet if a shelter is unable to do so. Animals control could put you in touch with someone who can take in a pet. They are not trash, don't treat that way.
I hate when ppl shame a pet owner when they have to give up a pet. The, "you knew the responsibility, etc etc" is just crap! You don't always know their situation, and I'm sure they didn't plan to give away their pet, ever. Instead of shaming them, just help and guid them so their pets can still have a good life. And don't ever dump pets either. That's just wrong! Plenty of ppl will take them in.
Tapping the brakes just enough to turn the brake lights on often get tailgaters to back off, but not a police car. (No lights or siren). People standing too close makes me panic. I wish I knew what to say. Instead I don't move quickly.
Have you ever drive on I-285 in Atlanta? Scary as all get out! Someone tailgates me, and I am driving over the speed limit, ( to match the traffic speed around me) I slow down to the speed limit. I did this years ago to a semi in bumper to bumper traffic. He gets behind so close that I c ould barely see his headlights, and start blasting his horn and flashing his lights. No where for me to go. Speed limit it 55, traffic was moving at 60.So I slowed down. I just wish I could inject some awful smell into my exhaust pipe when they're practically in the back of my truck.
So annoying when people ignore what is going on around them and focus on one car. On a dark rainy night, traffic was dense but moving fast. Pick-up truck with extra big wheels was behind me, was flashing and honking. As soon as possible I changed lanes, just long enough to let him pass. He floored it then slammed on the brakes. I flashed my lights on and off once behind him. I pull over and let overly fast drivers past. I drive fast enough. Let them get the ticket.

Animals can be given up for valid reasons, but mostly it is because people are selfish. Moving to a place that does not take pets is a lousy excuse, older pets, pets with health problems, etc. So yes people are selfish dbags who think pets/animals are disposable
People watch when someone is distressed so they can assess if help is needed. Just like when they pass an accident, to a parent yelling at a child, a child crying in a store, etc. Be thankful our immediate response is to make sure everything is alright
Unless you are passing, STAY OUT OF THE LEFT LANE. When you are done passing move to the right lane. It’s not that hard.
Also, "the flow of traffic" is somewhat of a speed limit. It is mentioned in driving manuals for multiple states, and even the states' vehicle code books. If you're going 55 in a 55 zone, but the flow of traffic is going 65, you can legally go 65. And in most cases, you prob should, otherwise you're the one holding up traffic.
OMG, This is a biggie for me... and cops should do more about enforcing the "slower traffic keep right" rule. And "I was doing the speed limit" is NOT an excuse. The signs say "SLOWER TRAFFIC" they don't say anything about the speed limit. On most roads these days, the speed limit is the minimum. If you are in the right lane, and someone is "on your ass" its because you are in the wrong lane.
It is the law in many places. Passing on the right is dangerous! It isn't just proper.
Load More Replies...Not during rush hour. Sounds like you need to slow down and switch to decaf
But the left lane isn't for passing, you're using the wrong side of the road!
Access! Every city managershod have to get around a city in a wheelchair
First a wheelchair, then a blindfold and a cane. As someone with impaired vision, there are so many improvements that could be made for almost no money... it just takes a little thought and compassion. All civic planning boards should meet with people of all abilities to address their concerns.
That’s a good one man. Every civil engineer that designs a school parking lot should have kids in 8th an 1st grade. Drop off sucks
I think cancel culture is absolute poison on multiple levels. Instead of inviting people to an important conversation, it isolates them. At worst, the only lesson they get is that 'those people who think [popular viewpoint] are all a gang of bullies,' which just sends people back to their old ways and groups, more hateful than before. Then those bullies feel accomplished for treating someone with a different view like crap, which is no better a lesson. In the end, it always ends up polarized into 'us vs them' which ruins any chance of discussion. There's never an option of, "I like this person but still feel they did something wrong and should learn" or "This is really abhorrent behavior but it's totally unrelated to their job." From a practical sense, whatever they are cancelled from gets screwed over - being forced to remove an employee is never helpful, and affects many people. I think the worst example was Liam Neeson - he told a repentant story about how his racism was fueled by a tragic event and all he could blame was 'a black guy," which sent him off into a pointless blind rage. The internet quickly ignored all context and started attacking him for being a racist, completely missing the opportunity to talk about how racist thoughts are born and can be overcome, and what makes people learn and change. The idea that someone should lose their job and never be allowed to work again because they are not progressive is contrary to the progressive idea that people can learn and change and pay their dues. Moreover, the historical digging (i.e. tweets, comments, media, products from years or even decades ago) portrays the fantasy that we should all be perfect in our pasts and should never be expected to change. The exaggerated shock and awe at 'I can't believe people from 50 years ago didn't know what I learned 3 years ago' benefits nobody. *This is all separate from illegal behavior, which should be handled in the legal system. That system needs to develop as well, but that can only happen with constructive conversation to get support.
"Instead of inviting people to an important conversation" The problem is that neither side, talking constituents here, actually cares about having an important conversation. Each believe that they alone have the end all, be all, answer to the problem at hand and doesn't actually care to hear from others regardless of how many times they profess otherwise.
THIS is why people like me say BSAB. Neither side tolerates opinions or experiences outside their precious little narratives, and like OP said, absolutely *will* bully, harass, or at the very least ignore those who dare to express a differing opinion. The right is much more militant about "punishing" different perspectives, but the left's screeching insistence that they don't do that (while quite fvcking overtly doing it) is at least as offensive. I love ya, lefties, but you are no strangers to cogdis and I'll never be able to unsee that.
Load More Replies...I think all this moaning about cancel culture is boring, first off there is a blatant double standard in what is even considered cancel culture. As far as I can tell it's only a problem if it's coming from the left, Trump and Fox News types trying to cancel Colin Kaepernick for speaking out against the killing of innocent black people by the police force is fine but people not wanting to give Neeson a hug after he told the story about how he walked the streets looking for a "black bastard" to kill is a major tragedy. People on both sides ignore context, racism is for some people simply a political and moral stance for others it's a serous threat to their life, this is what you're ignoring.
PT2 Our words and actions will effect the way that people perceive us, if your kids school teacher casual dropped it in to conversation that he really wanted to bang your 5 year old child when he first met, are you going to look at him the same? Sure perhaps he's changed and no longer has those urges but are you going to want to have this man looking after your child? Most people would understandably say no because they can understand the feeling of threat. Neeson confessing that he wanted to murder someone because of their skin colour and actually roamed the streets trying to make it happen, makes people view him differently. Some guy saying he wanted to kill you is not some opportunity that people go through life hoping to encounter in order to change minds.
Load More Replies...Yes, I think I agree with what you are saying. We need to learn All the facts, and stop with this "knee jerk" reaction when finding out someone was an absolute jerk in the past. Instead look at what they have done since. Have they put those ideas they spouted aside? Or are they still secretly adhering to them. People can and do grow out, or into what is not considered " correct" . They should be judged, on a case to case basis. Before a final judgement is made.
Yes, and even if it's something in the present - are we going to throw digital stones at them or are we going to help put them on the right path to change? Just once I'd like to see an employer say that instead of firing someone who was publicly offensive, they talk with the employee and help them see WHY people are offended and WHY that goes against society & company values, then give them a choice of who they are going to be.
Load More Replies...Sometimes, cancel culture and targetism is just as wrong as the comment that started it. It just eventually becomes bullying and it doesnt help the person see differently. Sometimes, its not that big of a deal what they said, it just goes against the popular belief.
Republicans don't care about illegal behavior of their representatives, so I guess your whole point is moot, eh?

The cost of health care and prescriptions in the USA. I have diabetes and my medications, without insurance, would run me about $2400 per month alone (4 prescriptions.) That's not counting being required to go to my doctor every 3 months ($200 per visit with insurance $468 without) to have labs ($98 with insurance every 3 months $389 without.) At my last OB/GYN visit, I had a procedure done in the office that, upon looking at the bill, cost me $6500 for my deductible for insurance. Without it..it would have cost me $22,000. And don't even get me started on surgeries and cancer treatments. My mother-in-law had a life threatening illness that required infusions every week. Her insurance covered all but $600 of it. Added up over the time of treatment and she spent $6000 in a matter of 10 weeks...and she passed anyway. In the end, she wasn't sure she wanted to continue treatments because of the cost. In what kind of society to we live in where a person would rather die because the only option for living means being in poverty for the rest of your existence. A pretty crappy one. I hope all those millionaires that profit from the medical insurance and prescription companies choke on their caviar.
How can the US health system justify these costs? In Australia, when I have an appointment with my GP, it costs me $76.50 (approximately $56 US). Medicare refunds me $39.10 [approximately $29 US]. For an American to have to pay the equivalent of $273 AU (insured) or $635 AU (uninsured) for exactly the same service is nothing short of scandalous. I can stay in an Australian public hospital (usually in a 4-6 bed ward) and pay... $0. The government covers the cost of my bed, meals and medical care (by doctors and other staff employed by the hospital). If I want my own doctor, I can choose to be privately insured, and I can then be cared for in a private hospital.
A lot of medications are covered by the PBS: "The Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) is an Australian Government program that benefits you and all Australians by subsidising medicines to make them more affordable. This means you can get access to lifesaving medicines when you need them most. The PBS is governed by the National Health Act 1953." https://www.pbs.gov.au/info/general/faq#WhatisthePharmaceuticalBenefitsSchemePBS If a patient has a concession or pension card the most they will pay to get each prescription filled is $6.60; if the patient does not have a concession card, the most they will pay is $41.30. The Australian Government pays the remaining cost.
Load More Replies...Do you know how sorry I feel for you folk in the US? I have hypercholesteroleamia and diabetes. Want to know what my medical bill is for all the drugs? Nothing. I am glad I live in the free world.
My dad is diabetic, it cost's him £9.35 per prescription. He's on 2 medications and each prescription is around 2 months worth of drugs. So that's £168.30 per year ($232.43 USD). That's less than 20 Dollars a month! Doctor visit is free of charge. Test's cost a whopping £0.00. He doesn't use a gyno for obvious reasons, but if he did that would set him back sweet F'all.
Medicine is a money making business. That is their primary reason for existing.
Aw look, I can't help thinking that nowadays people just don't communicate with each other about their feeling, their needs and their wants. Just going along and then getting heated because someone is less than effective, doesn't help anything. Can't they sit down quietly, agree to take turns talking while the other one listens, will really let us all get along better. Don't judge. Just listen.
I have had enough about everyones feelings, being told how to feel, etc
1. The fact that everybody seems to feel misunderstood by society and has this intense need to talk about themselves in an effort to make others understand just "who" they are on some deep level. It's like everyone sees themselves as important or intelligent or philosophic or prophetic or something and feels like "everyone will finally realize it" if they can just talk about themselves until they're blue in the face. Coincidentally, everyone these days is also simultaneously terrible at listening to / caring about other people and - if they do "listen" - it's usually obvious that they're just waiting for the person to shut up so they can go on talking about themselves. Everyone wants to talk, no one wants to listen. It's both comical and sad. 2. The term "influencer" and ESPECIALLY anyone who refers to themselves as an "influencer". It's like someone referring to themselves as "the most popular kid in school." Well, sorry, but while you might have been interesting a second ago, your ego inevitably makes my mind say "go f**k yourself" and I will pretend like you dont exist forevermore.
My counselor and I had a great talk about this yesterday. Increasingly, people use disorders not just as their primary identity, but as "get out of jail free" cards: You can't be mean to me because I have OCD and PTSD and dyslexia and trauma and etc.!!1!! Also, I have MORE disorders than YOU (and/or mine are WORSE than yours)-- I "win"! ...Eeugh.
How else are they going to not accept responsibility
Load More Replies...Oh, yes the "influencers"! It says a lot for this time in history that people can actually make money by "influencing" their "followers"...
I stop talking and turn away when I see that "I have something to say!" rabid look in someone's eyes, they are not listening to me.
I have a whole list! Lol! These days, it’s mostly how people don’t seem to understand the difference between facts and opinions. I read a saying once, and modified it. It sounded better, in my opinion, lol! Just because you have a right to your opinion, does not make your opinion right. (Nor does it make it a fact for everyone, and don’t expect everyone to agree. Respect that.)
Upvoted but with one caveat. A fact is a fact. So although it may not be accepted as fact by everyone, it still remains a fact. They may just not agree, or believe that it is a fact. In fact they might dispute the fact. But, if in fact, it is a true fact, it remains a fact, whether it is believed or not. Fact!
I read an argument against this.: 20 years ago, it was a fact that Pluto was a planet. Now it is not. Thus, facts are not absolute. Feel like all this could be reasoned out somehow, but don't know how.

When less is used incorrectly (this has less episodes), it sounds to me like the equivalent of "I have very money" or "I have many money". It's such a simple rule, and yet I see "professional" writers misuse this all the time.
That's why there is 'less' water and not 'Fewer' water
Load More Replies...I love that Publix supermarkets have "Ten items or fewer" on their express lanes. Glad to see that at least one grocery store gets it =o}
Load More Replies...How can you even use such a word as Less if the definition relies on "you can't count them"? Let's look at it from a glass half full/glass full standpoint. Does it make more sense to say there is less water in the half full glass compared to the full glass or there is fewer water in the half full glass compared to the full glass? This is a direct comparison of "counting them" and less works best in this instance. Your rant is nothing other than a personal pet peeve which you can't let loose of.

I don't really get what you mean by your wife waited outside a church so she could give you her number. To be completely hones that does sound creepy. The rest is very kind though and I agree with you.
His point is that it's only seen as creepy when a man does it but when a woman does the same thing it's considered "her free will" and not creepy at all. Equality really does mean being equal. In all things.

I am ashamed that ignorance has become a point of pride for people and way too many believe their opinion overrules any fact. I am disappointed that too many lack the critical thinking skills to tell the difference. I am furious that billions believe their personal freedom is always more important than people dying. I am despondent that our loss in trust of experts has now doomed our children to likely extinction.
I agree. I have heard so many shouting their opinions but if someone calls them out and refers to science all the shouters shout harder. Also, freedom comes with a price! Not many people understand that. Freedom needs to be faught for and defended and can only exist as a community.
That is because even science has become opinion through their own fault

Just basically how the UK government ... and all the ones for at least the last 30yrs has failed in terms of educating children. I learnt very early on in my girl's development that the school system was going to teach her jack s**t. I'd be astounded when I'd ask her stuff like basic stuff when she was at various stages and she'd be saying 'i don't know...... we've not done that yet', when i knew for damn sure we'd already covered that already when i was her age in it. Through no fault of our own our kids are turning out more specialised, but in general terms pretty thick in terms of broad knowledge.
They don't teach arithmetic properly, if they did why are there so many students who can't do it competently?
This is more true than most people know. When I was in college I had to have 1 math class to graduate. Luckily the university system recognized that not all people think alike. I, and many other creative people, cannot grasp just memorizing an equation. I Have to know what the parts of the equation are before I can do the maths. All my young life I had been told that I was bad at math. Then I took a scuba diving class. We had tests every week, and a lot of math questions were on the tests. Never got any of them wrong. Because I understood what all of the parts of the equation were. So the uni system I was in recognized this and had math classes for liberal arts majors. Any equation was built up from the beginning. Math is a lot easier when it is taught properly.
Load More Replies...I get that at least half or more than our kid's education has to come from home...... and personally I did my bit. However the classes how they're structured now are limited to the least educated kid in the class - so if they have to be taught the basics first..... then so do all the other kids that already know them
It's true that my imaginary children are the easiest to raise, but I think it's a multi level failure. Schools are crippled by so many issues... funding, politics, poor teacher pay, loony-toon parents demanding books be banned, and now COVID. The world has changed a lot since I was in school; kids need to know so much more tech stuff just to get along, and teaching that has cut into time spent learning the basics. Schools used to teach things like critical thinking, ethics, citizenship, and there's no time for that anymore. The home needs to pick up a lot of the slack, and sadly, many parents of my acquaintance don't get that part. Rather than read to their kids, they plug them into screen time. All you need is a quick look at most websites to realize that many kids never read anything. If you can't spell the simplest words, your parents didn't think reading was that important. Schools are often helpless to teach the critical stuff that would build character
PLAGIARISM. PERIOD. If you're gonna say post someone else's art, GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR IT. Dont just claim it as your own!!! Even if you think this is ok, the original owner of the artwork might find you claiming to own it, and they can report you for it. Moral of the story... if it's not yours dont take it
My rant is probably an age thing. Young people (under 60, lol) who insist on using the words "like" and "basically" several times in every sentence as in: Basically, like, I told him, like, basically, he couldn't, like, basically, use, like, that ATM as it wasn't, basically, like, working, like. Minor rant, I know.
my rant for a similar thing is where people say 'me and my friend went to the movies' instead of correctly saying 'my friend and I went to the movies. Always remove the other people out of the sentence and you will understand that you wouldn't say me went to the movies, you would say Ï went to the movies, now add your friends at the beginning of that sentence. eg. John, Jane and I went to the movies

Load More Replies...This one's petty, but I like to read stories of revenge on various websites. They're entertaining. But what really annoys me for some reason is why the author feels the need to put "this is important for later". No duh, dummy! It's part of the story! If you are putting things not relevant in the story, just take them out. But don't be so lacking in self confidence you already have to make excuses for people you suppose are already bored, "...I promise I have a point and that this is going somewhere!..." Thanks for listening to my rant.
Keep in mind that most of the people sharing stories are not good storytellers, just average folks. Some of them put things in a sloppy order, some of them leave out important details, and some of them include totally unnecessary details that just spill out in the stream of consciousness. So yeah, highlighting an important detail probably feels important to some.
Just realised I forgot to add it in the description. Subscriptions. I do want to read a news story, but if I have to pay $30 (HKD) just to read some dumb article about cats bumping into walls, then no. There are a lot of other things too. Apple updates. They take so long, and the actual thing that results is something useless! Assistivetouch just makes it harder for me to do anything on my phone, and MacOS Big Sur- well… it’s actually the login screen that aggravated me. I can’t change it, but it just… it takes so much of my willpower not to smash my computer to the ground. My SIM card. The data thing, you know? It has 50GB in it, and even though it’s prepaid, it expires after one month. MAKE UP UR MINDS YOU STUPID CU@$S! And then, after all that, my SIM card expires 120 days after activation! That means that my phone number will change in 3 months! I hate you so much! Phone cases. I have one that is filled with water and glitter. It’s a time bomb waiting to break my phone. Spam callers. I live in Hong Kong. Usually the callers talk in super fast Cantonese, and the second they get any hint that you don’t know Cantonese, they immediately hang up. It’s wasting all of my data. I only get a few hours of phone call per month, and those f$@&ing cu&ts waste so much of it. Ads. Maybe they’re a great way to spread word around, but they cover up so much stuff. Public transport in Hong Kong is covered up by all of it. The buses are supposed to be painted a nice pattern, but it all gets covered up!

I get phone calls from the Indian Microsoft guys who give themselves English names. Today it was 'Paul Williams' - yeah sure Paul, you sound like a veritable Englishman. The advertisements I keep seeing on YouTube for the US army and navy and stuff like that... really bother me. They're very obviously making it seem like a video game, similar to like Call of Duty or whatever all the shooter games... Like they have special "characters" with special "abilities" like "The Chameleon" and "The Sniper" and... I thought society was all bothered and COMPLAINING cuz they think that violent shooter video games lead to kids thinking real life violence is okay, and now the army thinks they can CAPITALIZE on that?! Also, BTW, kids thinking real life violence is okay due to violent video games ISN'T ACTUALLY A REAL THING. We're legitimately not tricked by the advertisement with dramatic music and cool-looking images because at the end it says "join the US army." It's so completely utterly different. To defend your country and actually go kill other real people... it's so much more serious and... I don't know, I don't know why this hits a nerve with me but it bothers me!!
Why will you follow your mechanic neighbor's advice about a medical problem when you would never take your car to the doctor to fix its transmission? In all things, listen to the person who has devoted their life to something over the person who devoted an afternoon. An expert becomes that way by realizing everything they first learned was wrong because the explanation was too simple. I may have learned the two second following rule in driver's ed but it takes a professional truck driver to keep from destroying cars coming down off a mountain.
“Covid is a hoax” stickers that are all over my town. They are very annoying and use dumb phrases like “ real men don’t wear masks”. Just shut up.
1) Further to the tenth entry, in these respects our government's have failed us, for at least 30 years they were more than adequately warned, all the evidence was there and they did nothing, the self-seeking irresponsible bastards. 2) Teaching children religious history as if it were as true and valid as properly recorded and verified history; and this often being taught by people who know it isn't or can't all be true. This cannot be more wrong - we have an obligation to teach children the truth as far as we can, not brainwash them with ideology and myth.
The respective governments have failed the respective people because the respective people rested on apathy and continually voted in the same government at every chance they had. That and the people are absolutely adamant that they won't take the blame for anything but will shift the blame to the nebulous "other". In case I lost you in this statement, "other" is the government you mention.
Good answer! Aside from the fact that we can vote for people who promise to take action - then never do enough- governments have a responsibility to act to ensure the present and future safety of their people, but they have failed

How people and companies treat people with disabilities. When I was looking for a job I would get to the final stage of the interview and be a total shoe in for the job and then as soon as they learned about my disability it was all “Sorry but you’re not what we’re looking for”. Just because some people are either born different or have had a serious health condition does not mean that they can’t do any job. Because of this the only job I could get is a very physically demanding job which isn’t actually good for me and is causing my health and body to suffer. I need to work in order to pay my way in this world and the skills I have are just going to waste
Yes. I asked my company... more than 10000 employees, to make one minor change to the building... namely, two of the six stairways were dimly lit concrete affairs and very hard for me to see. I asked that they put reflective strips on the leading edge of the steps, which would have cost a couple hundred bucks at most. I pointed out that in the case of a real emergency, I wouldn't be the only person who couldn't see the steps. Several years later, that improvement had yet to be made. They can spend a fortune giving every employee a protein bar and bottle of water to "improve morale" but fix the steps??? Out of the question.
I don't know where you are, but it sounds like a lawsuit in waiting. Also are you in the US? Don't know if OSHA would cover this. Stairs are really dangerous in general. Best of luck!

Only going to comment on the job search. After college I was looking for a job. My degree was in art, but you can't just immediately start making money with it. So I needed to support myself. Had a decent resume from job I had had before. But wasn't getting call backs. Finally 1 place came through. Manager was from my home state, which I think was why he called me in for an interview. He asked me point blank. You have a college degree, why do you want to work in a factory? My answer wad simple. Because I have bills to pay! Rent, utilities, groceries etc. I got the job. Which then led to a better job, and then a better job. Dont give up!
Not getting help, I too was in that situation all my life until I turned 40. At 40 I cut all this dead weight out of my life. Just cut them all off as I was having a mental breakdown from all the draining neediness, hostility, and unavailability. It took me 10 years to recover from all the toxicity. Now I take care of my own needs/wants. Now I have a sense of who I am, what I want, and no longer need to rely on people. Autonomy is the best
When dogs die in movies/books/TV shows for NO REASON. Look, I get it when it's important for the plot or something, but I read this one book where the main girl got a dog which got hit by a car literally three pages later. It then wasn't mentioned for the rest of the book! It especially hurts now, because my best friend's dog died after she'd only had it for a week. It's just pointless misery!
ME TOO. I have done rescue for over 40 years in one capacity or another, and I have seen far more than my share of cruelty inflicted on animals. If a book or movie even HINTS that an animal is in danger, I am out. Kill all the humans you want, but don't hurt the innocent creatures.

Oooh boy, Young Adult paranormal romance novels. Specifically the ones where the girl finds out she’s special or different and then has to choose between two boys. One is a silent, cold withdrawn type and the other is a dark, rugged passionate type. She always picks the one who treats her the worst. It’s no wonder that more and more young girls are getting into abusive relationships because they read this trash and think that it’s ok. It does my head in. I just want to read a paranormal genre book without reading this three way tripe. Another one is unwanted and unwelcome parenting advice. Specifically when mums give you advice that is supposedly well meaning. I just had one woman tell me I should be doing baby led weaning with my 6 month old. Umm isn’t all weaning baby led? It’s not exactly like I can force him to eat things he doesn’t want to. I’ve also had people come up to me when my 3 year old with asd is having a meltdown giving me advice about how I’m not disciplining him enough or how he needs to stop being so spoilt. He’s the most loving, intelligent and awesome kid. Just because he gets overwhelmed does not make him a bad child. You coming over when he’s mid meltdown and trying to self harm is just making the situation even worse. Ok rant over for now.
The pledge of allegiance that American students have tp recite every morning. It’s something you’d expect North Korea to do, brainwash kids to pledge their allegiance to America and they have to do it with the words “under god”, so much for separation of church and state.
Well, I’m not sure. Ive never heard of anybody not doing it in school. I’m guessing the punishment could vary from being forced to do it to being sent to the principals office

As an American student I never did and never 'had to' recite the pledge. Maybe you didn't realize, like many things in America, it is OPTIONAL.

Sure the system is flawed, and people pay the price. But there are still good people here, fighting for whats right, is it really right to write off the entire country and its citizens?
I think this can be said of alot of places but it doesn't mean it's true. UK is supposedly racist and full of nasty people. It couldn't be further from the truth, the majority accept people from every race and religion. However we are a small island and are struggling with too many people in a small space, we try our best but are always called out. I've visited America several times and met lovely people.
THE ACTUAL BIBLE ISNT HOMOPHOBIC AND I HATE THAT PEOPLE USE IT TO JUSTIFY TAKING AWAY OUR RIGHTS-
The issue is not whether it is a sin, the issue is that no where does it say it is any worse than any other sin, or that people should be ostracized because of it.
Bro I wanna rant about my friends. Like... I dunno, is it just me? Why do I keep getting left out by these people? (I mean, really just two people but still...) One is related to me, we've been friends since they were born and I was 1. Basically 17 years now. The other is a pretty new friend that I met 2, 3 years ago — but they're through that first friend. Idk if it's my family issues (another thing I'd prolly like to rant about), but I've been desperate for social interaction and they keep denying me... And hanging out with each other. And telling me about it when I've already said I'm going through tough times, I don't need them to rub it in my face. Oh and web comics lmao, I really just wanna go off on what I'm reading, my thoughts on them and the absolute insanity of them.
Sooo my school- where do I start? The worst thing isn't even the boring classes or that. It is the fact that they are currently rebuilding the entire roof and floor under that. And almost everything else, but yeah, that's the main thing. It's loud the entire time, I can't understand what the teachers say sometimes and mostly I'm just afraid that THE F*****G ROOF WILL COLLAPSE OVER MY HEAD. And let me tell you about all the times I thought it was close. -before summer, when they dropped something above us and it was so loud we thought it was directly above us -this year, same thing, but the floor actually shook x3 -when my teacher was sitting on her chair, they drilled and a tiny bit stuff came down(at that point we could just hear it) , she stood up and moved aside and a bit ceiling broke of on her chair, together with a good pile of drill material that was it by now, and we are moving room now because it is too loud all of a sudden. IT WAS THAT FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE SCHOOL YEAR BUT NOW IT IS TOO MUCH?? yeah so thats why I hate going to school
Well, shoot! that doesn't sound safe as well as nonconductive to a learning atmosphere. There must be some authority you can turn to because if the situation stays like it is this whole year will be a waste. Can you speak with a parent, PTA, principal, OSHA, mayor, governor? Can you contact a news organization?
The brestfeding issue. Why is it so upsetting for people?? EVERY MAMMAL ON EARTH breastfeeds and people get nuts over women bresfeeding their babies??! WTF. I've never seen one single person/man loosing their minds over a single female animal brestfeeding, but the only though of women's tits are used for the main purpuse nature create them, drives everyone crazy. Come on!
No it's that the men are sexualizing the absolutely natural act of breastfeeding. OPwas correct, All mammals breast feed. Doing it in public should not be looked down upon. I think most women prefer a bit a privacy, but I would much rathe the kid get fed than have to listen to it scream to be fed.

But it's all for science so it must be good then right? NO
All creatures should be treated with respect. That this even has to be said is an indication of how far off track human beings have gone.
Sexism, Racism, Homophobia. Basically everything wrong with the world.
I wish hospitals would practice good triage. Anti-vaxers infected with COVID-19 who have not got the vaccine and will probably die, should not have priority over another patient who has been vaccinated and needs urgent care.
Vaccinated are getting covid too and needing hospital care. So take your hatred for your fellow man, woman, child and get a life.
The world has just turned so SUCKY. Global warming, racism, sexism, etc. I just wish people with actual power could promote fixing these problems because otherwise no one will do anything, but all people listen to are stupid old white men that are popular because they could buy everything you have and not leave a dent. AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH
Well, consider what went on in the 60s-70s. Boomers grew up with essentially the same issues: race riots, womens' lib, environmental issues, police violence, cries for sexual freedom, and crazy inflation (10% mortage rates anyone?). So the world didn't JUST turn sucky, but now with social media there's way more publicity about every little thing, so it's way more in our faces.
The 80's too. Oh and the 90's. the 00's went a bit quiet...
Load More Replies...I think the answer is not to rant, but to roll up your sleeves and work for change. I thought by now the world would be a much better place, because as much as we get hammered now, Boomers made tremendous changes... womens' rights, reproductive freedom, environmental policy, civil rights, all got better because people joined together and worked for change. There are still some activists... Greta Thunberg springs instantly to mind, but there are too many sitting on their butts whining, and not working. When I was a little kid, women didn't work, unless they were "spinsters". By the time I was in elementary school, women worked, but only as teachers, secretaries, nurses or other "female" jobs. By the time I entered high school, women worked in all professions. It takes dedication, time and work to affect change, but we can't give up. This world is all we've got.
How teenage girls have literally nothing they can be interested in without being judged like go ahead give me one thing that teenage girls can be interested in without the possibility that people will make generalizations about them or make fun of them for it there are so many tiktoks that have been popping up on my fyp making fun of teenage girls for doing the most mundane things ever and i find it so unfair
there are a few different topics i could go off on but i will stick to somethink kind of general as it encompasses much of my 'triggers": education. we have done a disservice to our youth in our current educational curriculums. first, we took out 'home ec' classes and, at least when i was in school, those were limited to only girls. now, it is known in some areas as 'food science' which teaches basically how to read a recipe and that's it. at the same time, shop classes...wood, metal, auto, etc...were restricted to boys only. those classes taught basic life skills. also, general type classes such as math and english, both of which haven't really changed with the exception of how 'formal' writing has been modified to be more acceptable. school districts have changed things such as 'adverbs' to 'helping verbs'...wtf? why? also, not to mention the expense of new text books that contain basically the same info but, for the sake of profit and/or acknowledgment of the authors, have been replaced by new books or, worse, printed copies which do not allow for a book for reference. there is something reinforcing in having to copy out a problem on to paper and working the problem. this may seem insignificant but was the basis of education for literally decades. then, moving onto history, there have been districts that have allowed for part of history to be removed from the curriculum because 'they don't have the time'. again, wtf? we learned ancient/world history as well as american history with no problem...and, i was fortunate to have had the benefit of history that included what is now considered the basis of 'cancel culture'. nope - it's just history as all inclusive...the good parts we were involved with as well as the parts that embarass us and wish we wouldn't have done. it's still history. so, i'll put my soap box away for now
I've noticed this also. The class flunked the exams for german?? Oh, then it's the teachers fault and the exam is too difficult. The next year the exams were less difficult. WTF
agreed. it's like we stopped asking our students to work for their knowledge. all of us know that school, when you are doing it, can feel like the subjects we are mandated to learn will not have any revelance in real life but, later, we see how it does. by making the manner in which subjects are taught easier it seems like we give this false belief that life will be made easier. oh, contrare! we have only managed to hamstring our kids.
Load More Replies...Look. I feel ya. I agree with most of what you have to say. I just want to suggest better punctuation and PARAGRAPHS. Why? it makes what you say more comprehendible.
actually, i am amused you called me out on that because i actually am a very effective writer. but, it seems when i post things i usually don't capitalize or use paragraphs very often for sake of saving key strokes as some sites limit how much you can write. but, you are correct in that it does make sharing information and/or thoughts more succinct when using formal punctuation, sentence structure, etc.

Tik Tok is a terrible app. It promotes the stealing and plagarization of creative content. In the film/art industry this is one of the worst things you could ever do. It also values the hot and beautiful over actual creativity as well. You can be hot and steal other people’s ideas and become tik tok famous by making nothing of your own. I despise what it’s become.
It's full of very vain and self absorbed people who worship themselves.
Yep I have another one. Now I can’t comment cuz my account ain’t approved by bored panda staff. wtf people.
Soap operas like Eastenders, never-ending miserable garbage in which nothing good ever happens it seems, over a period of about ten years when switching on the TV because of the time of day it was on - this happened about a dozen times and without exception something miserable was happening. And Emmerdale, what utter crap, mediocre in every respect, how do people get paid for acting in or producing this worthless stuff? Its cringeworthiness is truly mind-numbing, perhaps they're trying to set a record
I stopped watching Stenders when Cath came back from the dead. All these fake deaths got quite absurd. I switched to Doctors.
Don't let my mum hear you saying that! EastEnders is how we learned to be English. But yeah, they should really call it a day!
Yep. You just happen to turn on the TV at a certain point in the day and you can't avoid them AT ALL!. But, and this is a big BUTT, you have a very specific gripe about a very specific soap opera. 1+1 doesn't equal two in your case.
I don't like the others either I just think those two are the worst

Slightly over 13billion (this year) has been specifically spent on catholic schools - with just under 9 billion for public schools. Public schools have approximately 67% of all students nation wide, with private schools having the other 33%. This is in addition to the school chaplaincy program - which directly places unqualified religious extremists, to provide "pastoral care" (which i believe is a euphemism for child abuse) in severely underfunded public schools. The kicker here is that the elitists created by the over-funding of private schools are the same people that moan about a lack of skilled labour... the skilled labour that they are specifically going out of their way to ensure cannot be cultivated by anyone that is not already part of socio-economic upper class. https://www.dese.gov.au/quality-schools-package/fact-sheets/how-much-australian-government-funding-provided-schools-each-state-and-territory https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-09-02/how-the-catholic-school-system-takes-from-the-poor/12588920?nw=0&r=HtmlFragment https://www.aph.gov.au/About_Parliament/Parliamentary_Departments/Parliamentary_Library/pubs/rp/BudgetReview201920/EducationTraining Australia is now - unfortunately - a soft theocracy - and its f*****g evil.
HireVue. I HATE it. Nowadays, you have to do an interview in front of a camera and may or may not include a robotic AI. Oh, and it's recorded. No in-person interview and you only have 3 min to answer the questions. Oh you sneezed and the neighbor's lawnmower went on, IT'S NOW RECORDED and there is NO do over. I want to be interviewed by an actual person, not some stupid robot.
Haven't done one of these myself, but just thought about the fact that anything recorded can be played over and over for extra scrutiny or comedy purposes (better hope that sneeze isn't a funny one). That's at least something they can't do in in-person interviews... they see you once and get an overall impression... not replay over and over to uncover hidden secrets in your voice or body language 😖
I have a bunch, but the last time I ranted on one of these I got endlessly attacked, so I guess when the internet asks for opinions they don't actually mean it. Or rather, they only want opinions that are similar to their own. So I guess that's my rant. Stop asking for opinions and then attacking someone for opinions different than yours.
And the polarizing politicians haven't helped. People it is called dialogue. Talk To each other. Not At each other
It's been my experience that many people aren't really open minded enough to have a meaningful dialogue. They tend to just want to have a conversation with someone who parrots ideas they already believe themselves.
Yes, people need to be more tolerant and accepting of one another. It is very hard though when you see people who refuse to see things from different perspectives. Ignorant people. Selfish people. It's sad!
Dont use the slow vehicle lane to get ahead in stuck traffic. We just have to let you back in when the lane ends. You’ve only made the jam worse.
I have a theory, of course untested because I'm just a driver, but here goes... When you see a sign that warns you of lanes being reduced, or speed , whatever, then stsrt changing lanes then. Don't wait until the ladt minute to try and jockey into position. Left lane clised in 2 miles? Get out of the left lane then while trafgic is more sparse. Slow down when told to do it. I believe that if people just acted as soon as safely possible the traffic would smoothly transition through the lane closings and you woulsmd be through it faster. But that would take be a generous driver and not a being a road hog. So never mind.

Reversing alarms on trucks and machinery are very bad noise pollution. They made some sense when introduced, but now, we have cameras for the operators to use, which should make reversing as safe as going forward. In particular, a lone digging machine makes plenty of racket to announce its presence without the beeping.
Most trucks don't have cameras for reversing, and the beeping was never for the drivers in the first place. We need warnings like this now more than ever, with people being so oblivious to everything around them, faces buried in their phone with plus in their ears.
Yes, with oblivious pedestrians proliferating, and a barrage of new distractions, it is more important to give drivers a clear view to the rear, and a clear responsibility to check it. As for electric cars making special noises, that makes little sense since we don't want to train the blind by hitting them, and they already understand normal car sounds which are easily reproduced.

Billy Connolly did a fine rant on an early-morning truck. Granted that the back of a tractor-trailer is a fairly quiet menace, but the beeper is the wrong sound. It could be a smoke alarm or anything indoor. My bicycle is also a silent runner, and I find that I can easily alert pedestrians by driving over a bit of gravel. Using that sound would be better for all concerned.

I spent all my allowance. I only have like 100 dollars now, and I know it sounds like a lot, but I have it saved to buy Techno and Ranboo’s merch. Which is expensive. So I pretty much don’t have any money now. My homeschool co-op is only two days a week and I wish it was more. We’re moving and while that’s fine, we have to be out of the house by November and there’s nothing we like on the market rn. Also Techno got cancer :(. I mean, I think he’ll be ok, but still. He’s one of my favorite people in the world, and I want him to be ok. However, I got a binder, and mom says if we move I can get a Twitch/YouTube channel, and I really like this one girl in my class and she likes the same music as me :D

You need to learn to budget your money. Don't be spending it all on frivolous stuff. Especially not a bunch of " merch". If there is something you really want ask yourself if you really need it. Not saying you can't buy something that you don't need ever. Set aside some money, for fun stuff. For instance you still have $100. Allow yourself tho put $5-10 aside for something useless. But ssve the rest for something you really need. You do Not need to be paying $20 for a tshirt that has some ad or group name on it, when you can buy 4 plain shirts for the same smount. Also put some away, about 10%, that you Do Not allow yourself to spend. It will be there if you have an emergency. Having Name brand stuff isn't making you cool. It's just making the people who make it richer at your expense.
I know. Most of the time I’m pretty good at budgeting and stuff, I had just saved the 100 to buy the merch because I really like those people and I wanted to support them.

This may affect me or my region than others. People are so darn rude these days it blows my mind and is heavily disheartening. There's no need for it. 1) lack of pockets on women's clothing. Like seriously adding one more light piece of cloth on pants doesn't take that much work. Plus they probably would make more money doing than not. 2) how my mom misunderstands me. I love my mom, but sometimes I get so annoyed and irritated and I can't rant about it to anyone because they'll think that I'm dissing my mom. Every time I try to explain a certain situation, I always get punished for it.
My rant is about idiots who make their vehicles super loud. This used to be called “noise pollution “ and the car or motorcycle owner was given a ticket. I’m not just talking about pickups on steroids but small cars as well. Got behind a Kia the other day and my whole car shook from the vibrations. Motorcycles don’t need to be so loud either,it’s mostly added sound effects. There are many such vehicles in my gym parking lot and for some reason the drivers make several circuits around the parking lot before deciding to park.

Effect means to impact, Affect means the impact. Effective means creates a lot of affect and affective is stupid and means to emotionally impact. So effect means to cause affect. Effective is a different use of the word effect, but also a qualitatively good and like effect, but lots of it. And Affective! Is hardly f*****g related to the rest of the words
This is the opposite of correct. Affect is a verb. Effect is a noun. Effective is an adjective. Affective is a term related to psychology.
People who use asterisks for swear words thinking that makes their statement effective.
Effect /əˈfekt / a change which is a result or consequence of an action or other cause. aka something that impacts. Affect /əˈfekt/ have an effect on; make a difference to. Aka the thing that causes the impact. I'm sorry y'all failed reading comprehension
Seems you're not too good at reading comprehension yourself. YOU stated in YOUR original rant "So effect means to cause affect." In YOUR follow on post calling people out for having failed reading comprehension YOU copied and pasted a definition that clearly states effect is a change which is a result or consequence of an action or other cause and affect means to have an effect on. If you want to get into different uses of words, as you did in your OP, let's talk about impact. An affect causes an impact and the effect is that the thing has been impacted. You lose on this one.
Load More Replies...Anything about Socialism. I am basically arguing against every left-wing policy here. Please debate me, so I can change my arguments. Above all, be respectful. We're only disagreeing about economics here. 1. Universal Basic Healthcare This is a horrible idea. If people don't have to work, they won't work. "But if we make working conditions better, people would want to work!" Maybe you can 'improve conditions'. However, how in the world are you supposed to make work fun? Improve conditions all you like, janitors still have to clean poop, police officers still get shot at, teachers still have to prepare classes, doctors still perform exhausting surgeries, firefighters still rush into burning buildings, etc. Ask yourself: no matter how much you can 'improve conditions', would you still rather work than play video games, read, draw, walk at the park, watch movies, hike, etc? 2. Universal Healthcare How would you fund this? Taxes. Who pays the taxes? Everyone. What if someone doesn't want to pay because they don't need the services (they're really healthy people that rarely see the doctor)? The government goes up and points a gun at his head. I am fine with paying for some services because I like and need them. However, you're forcing me to pay (through taxes) for healthcare I do not need. Change the system all you want. Just don't increase taxes. 3. Regulation I agree with most of you when you say that corporations are too powerful. However, my answer to limiting their power lies in LOWERING regulations, as regulations cause a practice known as rent-seeking. When the government wields power over the economy, companies will seek to weild this power. They will manipulate regulations and licenses to prevent competition and to hurt competitors. For example, Amazon is trying to create an internet sales tax to hurt eBay. The AMA has for a long time tried to make obtaining medical licenses harder, stifling competition and giving themselves monopoly prices. Regulations make it cost about 1 billion to bring a new drug onto the market. Why? Because the big pharma doesn't want the new competition. Lowering regulations will force big companies to compete fairly, and not through market manipilution. This will obviously drive down costs and drive up quality, which in and of itself could be a solution to the horrible healthcare in the US. 4. Minimum Wage. There are many alternatives to increasing wages, such as resigning, striking, and unionizing. The minimum Wage also hurts the employees as well. Let's say you're a janitor. The government makes a minimum wage of 1,000,000 for all janitors. This won't turn ANY janitors into a millionaire. It will get every single janitor fired overnight, and create a black market in janitorial services. Let's also pretend you're an unskilled worker at Amazon. Then, the government makes you get paid as much as a neurosurgeon. The Amazon Execs will think, "Hey, we're paying them as much as a neurosurgeon, when they are not even NEAR that value. What's the point in keeping them? Let's just fire them all and hire actually skilled people who are worth the money." 5. Tax the Rich Now, I am not against taxing the rich. However, I am saying that it won't work. Whenever taxes increase, the rich take all their money, assets, and Jobs away from this economy and to another country. One example is Sweden in the 1970s, when they massively increased taxes of all kinds. What happened? Every single rich person, including Bjorn Borg the tennis player, the founder of Ikea, and a movie director, they all left. In the end, Sweden was begging for them to come back. Another example is closer to home. The US Congress decided to tax yacht sales. What happened? The rich stopped buying yachts overnight. The industry got annihilated, losing 90% of its revenue. 30 years later, they still haven't recovered. This is a challenge to all those 'socialists' on BP. Please respectfully debate me here.
1. I think you meant Universal Basic Income. This was not meant to pull everyone up to middle class or beyond; it wouldbe enough to survive on. People would still work to have a higher standard of living. Want wine instead of water? Work. If you have no skills, the janitor job is still available. 2. No one needs health are ...until they do. Think of it as insurance if you need the emergency room. find an unexpected lump. Also your healthy years of payment yet services not-needed, will counter-balance your eldery years where you would need more services. You are thinking short-term only. 3. I don't know enough about this or have read anything on it. 4. You examples are too extreme. No one is making millionaires of janitors - If you raise a salary to 11.00/hour from the 7.25 it currently is, you are not making as much as a neurosurgeon. The minimum wage has not kept up with inflation. It needs to rather than have people further dependent on social services.
5. Do you know US is considered a tax-haven for rich? Seriuosly, that's how little we are taxing the extremely wealthy. https://www.jacobinmag.com/2021/05/internal-revenue-service-america-tax-haven-law-enforcement I think the sweden rich leaving was over-exaggerated according to some links I found, but I don't know enough about the sources.

Load More Replies...Overall your examples are speaking in extremes, which is not how policies work in stable governments. Keep in mind that we already have 1-5 in the US in small doses - welfare, medicaid, reg. laws, taxes. Despite the cries of extremists, successful socialism is not all "burn the system down," but simply "adjust the recipe," because our country is currently way out of balance. Adjust it a lot. 1) The bottom income bracket is too low when it still facilitates homelessness and crime directly related to poverty (BTW your taxes pay for the extra police, courts and prison needed for high crime rates). Welfare isn't enough, but it was never about choosing between work and video games, it's about filling a gap between work, forced by welfare time limits and mandatory job applications.
3) Runaway capitalism allows expert profiteers to wield power over the government, and the example you gave is an example of that. This isn't a problem with regulators. it's a problem with corporate lobbyists DRIVING the regulators. Imagine a football rule where scoring enough points in a season allows your team to also be the referees for the rest of the reason. 4) Nobody is saying pay janitors as much as doctors or give them $1m. All we're asking is compare minimum wage numbers over time, compared to standard of living. For any given year, the same hours worked should buy you (Ex) 2 BR home+small sedan+phone service+groceries. X should never, ever change. You can check prices of any of these standards and see we are way off the mark. We are out of balance, and the minimum is TOO LOW.

You don't even give any room that there more than likely is an alternate choice available outside of the those proposed by either party. Make you rant. Don't try to pretend that you're reasonable in your stance.
Universal healthcare is one of my favourite things to hear Americans argue against because they all use the same selfish argument, 'Where is the money coming from? Why should I pay for other peoples sickness'. Do you have health insurance? Because IT'S THE SAME THING!!!! The money you pay to your insurer goes to other people that claim. Your money doesn't sit in a pot waiting for you to use it, it pays for other peoples sickness. And the insurers still make a ridiculous profit. The amount you would pay in taxes would be less than your health insurance and would offer you full, unlimited cover! Not to mention that anyone who gets a pay check is also paying it. A universal healthcare also keeps the costs down while ensuring that they staff get a fair wage. It's not a perfect system, but it's a damn site better than self-healthcare.
"Do you have health insurance? Because IT'S THE SAME THING!!!!" If I don't want insurance anymore, I simply leave. If I don't want government insurance, they point a gun at my head. They are not the same thing.

One, people who downvote for no reason. But more importantly, people who are unsafe driving. I'm driving a 40ft, 20ton vehicle full of people for my job. People don't let us out of stops (against the law btw, buses have right of way), turn right in front of us, cut us off then slam on their brakes, text, omg so many people on their damn phones, and so on. Those vehicles take time to stop. Cutting us off can kill you. Using your phone while driving kills. Just today my coworker got rear ended by someone on their phone. I'm just tired of being put at risk every day because people can't think beyond themselves while driving.
