Study, remember keywords and practise everyday. Study not only for marks but to remember because in 9th and 10th grade whatever came from grade 7 will come again. Do your homework and submit assignments on time and use post it notes if you have bad memory

Get good grades in the 6th.

Work out a timeline of when assignments are due and what they are worth so you can prioritize. Similarly, if you are given the amount of marks each question is worth on tests or exams (this is standard where I live), answer the ones that are worth more first.

Oh, this sounds unique! Usually, I wouldn't do this, because I would get a nervous attack, but I guess I can try this next time I have a test in a subject I'm confident in!
