People share what they love, but it's taboo share things you hate. This is a thread dedicated to that.

Animal cruelty. God in heaven help whoever I may come across doing that. Me to the judge: Guilty as hell Your Honor, and yes, I would do it again. Whatever you give me, I'll have a smile on my face the entire time. It will have been worth it. Others may down vote me, but, I don't care. I hate this with a BURNONG PASSION.

I hate people who think that animals, that is, the other animals, are all automatically inferior to all humans. I have personally known some animals who are more intelligent and sensitive than some of the humans I've known. Humanity is a joke.

But seriously what makes human life valuable enough to give us the right to not only own animals but the fact that they are also abused and treated as though they are not a living breathing being?

tbh I think people must that believe in a 'god' must be mentally ill at some level... not a popular opinion I admit, but we live now in a world of science and evidence..... all that b******t of 'well he moves in mysterious ways' to explain kids with cancer etc and all the inconsistencies of their religion just really make wanna shake them back into reality or at least go to town with something sharp and permanent. It's like they just don't see the f*****g weirdness of it.......or accept that their only 'evidence' is a book that was written a few hundred years after the main character had died.......... it's like some f****r holding up a book in a few hundred years time saying 'wizards are real......... it's in this book'.

i dont think they're mentally ill. i think they need something to believe in, the parental figure who's always watching over you. what's digusting is how people in power take advantage of that. HOWEVER i have agnostic tendencies as an atheist and i AM mentally ill so idk if im the best judge of that

Or anybody who says that the thing they hate is any type of people of any group-not just racial but political too. You don’t get to hate people for thinking differently. Also, people who say things like “I don’t like children”. It’s one thing to not want to raise them, it’s another thing entirely to dislike an entire group of innocent people-people who have yet to lose the joy of living unlike those people who hate children.

My mom is like this, and it's downright hurtful. She knows very little about my life because she's interested only in talking about hers. When I try to share something with her, she rarely shows interest and often changes the subject before I've said what I wanted to say. Also, her emotional intelligence is practically zilch because she has no interest in introspection—another aspect of being incurious.

I think it's fine not to be curious, but I think if they are not curious and believe everything they're told, then that's a problem. curious people tend to realize that there are more than one opinion out there, but non curious people often don't tend to create their own opinions.

As an American, I really hate that politicians are allowed to lie without reprecussions. I think if a politician is running for office and during their campaign they are caught lying and it's not an honest mistake, they should be immediately disqualified from running for office ever again. The damage they have done to our country is astronomical. We wouldn't have such misinformation being spread or people's lives being ruined because they believe someone who is stright up lying to them. And I don't care what political party they belong to. If you lie to the American people you don't get to lead us. We need to have lawyers at all debates forcing politicians to back up what they're saying. Someone who speaks on behalf of the people. A lawyer who will question the remarks they've made and the candidate isn't allowed to not answer the question. It would force all campaigns and candidates to really think about what they're saying and doing if they know they'll be held accountable for it.

I feel the same about politician and people in general. I cut people off, even relatives if they are adults and they lie to me even once. Young people are still learning, but by the time you reach adulthood you should have already developed your moral character and if you are willing to lie or steal or manipulate then, you will probably always do it.

" and it's not an honest mistake" And there's the rub...... they'll ALL claim it was an honest mistake. Like how they seem to have claimed the word 'mispoke' instead of 'lied through my teeth .'. I started using a relative's preferred pronouns right away. I reasoned that the effort was easy, it would help them see how they felt about living in their new identity, and pronouns are easy to change back. The person kept the gender identity and continued to transition, so I'm glad I wasn't in the way. :)

I'm old but I've learned to accept the love or hate behind their choice and not worry about the actual words they use to describe me. Most of the time its out of forgetfulness. You can't control how others act, only how you react. The year I was born, my name was #1 chosen and it was by a large margin. In second grade, there were 22 kids in my class. There were 6 boys and 3 girls with the male/female version of my name. The teacher assigned us all nicknames and only 3 had anything to do with the original name. My freshman year in college, 50 % of the men in my dorm had my name. Day 1 freshman year an upperclassman gave me derogatory nickname to tell us apart. Didn't feel bad because his girlfriend's nickname was worse. I ran for student senate and was elected with that ridiculous nickname because it stuck so that's what people knew me as. When I get friends together, its common conversation of "I can't believe you call him that". I had to learn to see it didn't matter - I was still me no matter what someone else said.

I could list so many things but something that I hate that also scares me are the horrendous grammatical errors that I see all over the internet. I know it sounds ridiculous to be afraid of a grammatical error but some mistakes are so bad it makes it clear that the writer never reads and doesn't think. How can someone say "My boyfriend and I's grandmothers..."? Or "4 month-year-old twins"? It's as though some people have only the vaguest idea of what words mean and their minds work like search engines. You write a word and they respond with the nearest phrase that matches up. I once said that I love to diagram sentences and one response I got was "Said no one ever." But I just said it! What makes it scary is that these people who don't know how to think, will soon be, or are already, running the world.

I don't agree with this one. A persons intelligence cannot be judged by their grammar etc. you know nothing about these people. You've probably found plenty mistakes in what I'm writing already. I know a very clever person who can't read or write properly. He really struggles to put things into words. What he says though, is clever thinking. He just can't quite, what's that word?? He can't. I don't know the word to explain what I mean. The thought was there though.

I am so sick of people who think they are experts when they are neither trained, have experience in, or have the self awareness to be humble enough to admit it. Add to this, those who read a comment or short explanation of an issue or topic and they vehemently agree with it with out understanding or looking into the facts. They are just agreeing with what often amounts to another ignorant comment, or propaganda to get a knee-jerk reaction.

We are seeing this all the time now. People online going crazy with mob mentality over something that someone in local town Facebook groups or on the media twisted and reported on with manipulated details. Nobody bothers to find out if things are true. If someone asks a real question or expresses doubt when things don’t add up, everyone will gang up on the skeptic for questioning a “victim”. The Jussie Smollet story comes to mind. He was obviously lying and his whole story sounded doubtful, illogical, and stupid-but everyone went crazy believing the nonsense and accused anyone who didn’t believe him of racism (for noticing the details make no sense). Well, turns out it was proven he was lying and now he is going to prison.

Extremists of all kinds (left, right, religious): They always come up with justifications for behaving in the worst kind that is humanly possible and anybody not in line is automatically labelled as enemy. (Note: German perspective and definitions) Activists in the entertainment industry: They recycle old content and sacrifice anything entertaining for forced lecturing. Often those are the biggest hypocrites, promoting something by exactly doing the things they speak against. Many franchises people enjoyed got ruined thanks to them and their unnecessary virtue signaling. Usually blame their failure on the fans or anything else except lacking skill. Besides that just the common stuff: Bullies, criminals, cheating AI's in video games etc.

I am a devout Christian and I don’t know a single person who thinks people will go to hell for eating pork chops…there are many who call themselves Christian, however by Biblical definition most are not. It is cringey for the rest of us as people think we are the same. They will do or say something completely wrong, ridiculous, and anti biblical that only serves to shut people down more… please be open to discovering what it is for yourself because there are many crazy people out there who identify as Christian.

Raised Christian, I no longer attend but do make sure to follow the 10 Commandments. If you follow the 10, you won't run afoul of the law or other people. The problem is there are "Jesus" Christians (good but relatively silent) and the RNC christians (means to an end). It was posed recently that if Jesus was here today and ran for election staying true to himself (assisting poor, love and accept ALL, et al), he would lose a GOP primary.

I agree with the narcissism which has been more common lately, farts in cars or around other people at all (same with belching) is rude, inconsiderate, and disgusting. Student loan debt is a huge scam. Better to take time off, save up and pay cash, or skip college and go for a trade. Even if you become a Dr you will now have a huge debt cutting into that income and you will have to dig yourself out of it. It’s entirely possible (Dave Ramsey baby steps really do work)- but why put yourself in that position to begin with? If you get a degree, make sure it’s because you are truly passionate and certain that career is your dream-not because of the lie that everyone MUST go to college or they will be a “loser”. They fed that to us in the 90s and most are still deep in debt.

Exactly. I have degrees in chemical dependency degree & human services & I'm currently working on a Sociology degree. I might grab a Psychology degree before I transfer to uni (it's only a few classes difference). It's taken me awhile because I refuse to take out loans & can only afford 2-4 classes a semester, but I won't be in crazy debt when it's all said & done. Because of my degrees I kind of fell into a substance abuse counseling position, I got my state RADT certification, & I'm working on my CADC. I go to school to follow my passion & because I love it, not because I have to, & I refuse to go into debt for it. I think it's unfortunate the younger generation has most of the cards stacked against them without a rich family or nepotism in their side. The inequality in the U.S. is tragic, & we all deserve better. Most of what I mentioned above is going to affect the younger generations more, though. Except car farts. We all suffer with those 🤢

This never happened to me, but it did happen to my ex (I still care about him) and he just so happened to not be from this country, hence the different name. Unfortunately in adulthood people continue these behaviors and the cliques. It just looks different. You become an adult and realize that even the previous generations have not really grown, they are as dumb as the people you went it school with, who also have not grown. You become tired of how the majority is, and you begin to really curate your social contacts to just the few people with whom you can have mature and interesting conversations, and who have respectable character.

If he's "nice" to her & terrible to everyone around her, that's a red flag. That's how abusers isolate their victims. Once everyone stays away, they turn the abuse on the victim, who's already invested in trying to get them to be that "nice" person, again. They will be nice again, right after a horrible indecent, but it won't last very long. And so the cycle goes. The best way to be her friend is to stick around (if you're safe), not pressure her to leave but make safety plan for when she's ready, & keep reminding her of her worth & that she is loved. Good luck to you both.

If a kid did something naughty and his parents weren't around, any neighbor could scold him for it. It was a little inhibiting when we played but it made me feel good to know that I could always count on some adult making sure nobody hurt me or cheated in a game with me.

I hate that. I would never dare. I may tell a kid they shouldn’t do something and then alert the parent if around “hey Johnny is doing such and such are you ok with that?” And then back off if they are. That’s a line you never cross unless there is abuse-other people’s kids. I’m a mom and to even hear someone opine on my parenting choices makes my blood boil. I chose to breastfeed exclusively and to never spank, use only gentle discipline. I get judged so much for that as my kids are high energy. However they have higher empathy than most and have high moral standards…the goal isn’t to stop developmentally normal child behaviors. The goal is to raise them to be healthy, morally upright, functional adults by the time they turn 18-without them going to a therapist to talk about how you damaged them.

If you are offering a child a raisin cookie, at least ask them ahead of time if the want a raisin cookie. Don’t make them suffer this disappointment (unless you are intentionally trying to do an organized life lesson on handling disappointments and gratitude, and follow it up at the end of the lesson with a real chocolate chip cookie)

I entered law enforcement to help not harass people. TROOPERS HAD PEOPLE THAT loved WORKING TRAFFIC..NOT ME. Assigned to the Adirondack Mtns. at that time (80s + 90s) Very few full time residents. So few if the 14 officers assigned to cover that area wrote "paper" as wanted by bosses we would soon have written anyone who resided in area. My Lt. was a PITA and once a month the call for counselling came over my last 2 years on duty. I always respectfully asked the Lt. to "give me a number" HE would seethe and dismiss me. ( he could not "give me a number" quotas are illegal in the now Communist State of NY. 90 miles back to my patrol area to finish my day.

Edit: I was not a slacker either. Yearly performance evaluation by Station Commander = outstanding. Love investigating crime and helping folks get over that invaded feeling.

TV shows that run 10, 15, 30 seconds past their scheduled end time. The DVR cuts them off midsentence, usually just when they're solving something, or setting up next week's topic. Yeah, I know you can set up the program to add a minute or 2. Problem there is I TiVo most everything I watch (hate commercials) and an extra minute on 1 show can mean a lost minute on another.

Gyms. Excersizing for the sake of excersizing is one of the stupidist things ever. There is no end goal. At least when one plays a sport it is fun.

Working out rounds out your conditioning and helps prevent sports injuries. Sometimes you can't do your sports because of the weather or other conditions, so going to the gym keeps you in shape through those times. I'm nearly 60 and feel much younger. Thanks to regular exercise, my quality of life is still very good and I can still bike, ski, and windsurf. And if something goes wrong, an injury or a curable cancer or something, I'll recover faster and more completely because of my conditioning and knowing how to get it back. Plus, exercise is great for mental health. Goal reached!

yeah i mean I think there are some objective reasons to dislike the gym, e.g. that it's a kind of thing where you parade and judge people.

I've been a member of four gyms over the past 35 years, including one frequented by serious body builders, and parading and judgement has never been an issue. Yeah sometimes someone sits on a bench checking their phone for too long or does some flexing in the mirror to check out their triceps, but so what? You get WAY worse self-centered behavior just driving down the road. I really don't know where people get this idea that gyms are so awful. Here in America maybe it's all those Planet Fitness ads, with their "No Judgement Zone" sales pitch?
