Hey Pandas, What Is Something You Did As A Kid That You Would Never Do As An Adult? (Closed)
We were all young and dumb at some point, and we all look back at those moments and say, "Why did I do that?" Type your answer below!

Wishing that I were an adult
I love being an adult—I was so happy to leave my hideous abusive stepfather. Also, being an adult is fun!

Buy stuff to impress some one. No one cares.
Yeah. I wouldn't say "kid" but in my 20's I bought lots of fashion brand names. Just cleaning out my closets and sell most of them for soooo much less and I just think about all the money wasted. I both bought way to many clothes and also believed I would like them more because of the brand (many are not my style, not even back then).
I felt pretty invincible in my 20s, now in my 50s I am far more careful with my health.
I'm reverse again here. When I was in my 20's, poor eating habits, alcohol an tobacco wreak my health terribly. I ended up with an ulcer at the age of 25!. Now I'm in my mid 30s and take care of myself much more. Now I feel even younger than 10-15 Yeats ago!
Refuse to take nap
Wish this was at the top. I keep trying to convince my 10 year old niece that naps are the best invention ever created. She doesn't believe me.
Wait till she hits her teens. Sleepy teens isn't a stereotype for no reason.

ah yes, not the best thing to do... but i cant talk. i do that right now so...
Put up with physical and mental abuse for the sake of the family name.
Listen to any of the b******t that came out of my parents’ mouths
When I was much younger I wrote a "bucket list" and on it I also included a skydive. I've ticked off many things on the list but now as an adult I don't have the courage for the skydive. The tattoo and getting to meet an elephant got ticked off though!
I went skydiving for the first time when I was 17 and military chutes and radios were used to help guide you down. Because of injuries suffered in a head-on collision, I can no longer jump. I loved it. Go for it!! It is so peaceful up there.
The vast!!! (No one here will understand but humph)

I always had skydiving on my bucket list, ever since I was told at age 7 my eyes were more prone to retinal detachment so I shouldn't bungee jump.
When Disney aired "Davy Crockett" on television, I was so impressed by the show that I wore a coonskin cap for days on end. I'd never wear a coonskin cap now but I do wear a Stetson; the cap I wore when I was a kid wasn't even a "real" coonskin as I found out later! But the Stetson is a real Stetson.
My uncle has a Stetson that fit me really well and I have wanted one since then, but I could never justify the cost!
I wore a coonskin cap when I was little. It made my head hot and sweaty.
Say: "I'm gowing to have 12 kids when I gwow up!!!!!"
I also have none, which had always been my plan

Run through the yard barefoot!! Sad but very true for many reasons.
I got my only ever bee-sting walking barefooted through some clover.
Ride down a hill on a sled, standing up.
I thought it would look really cool.

Take family for granted. As a kid, I thought that everyone lived forever.. having buried my aunt, all my grandparents, my mother...lost my brother to alcoholism (I haven’t seen him in years). I hold my little ones tight and think there is never enough time..
Find your brother if he IS still alive. Let him know you still love him and want to help him. Maybe if you reach out to him and give him that love it may help him turn his life around. I may be over simplifying the situation and looking for a Hallmark movie ending but you never know, it might work. Where there's life there's hope and everyone deserves a second chance.
Procrastinate taking a shower when told to
I have taken baths that could be entered into the fictitious “Best Baths Hall of Fame”

There's so many things that we did as kids, that when I look back on the crap that we did I wonder how we made it out alive.
Lighting fires in the wetlands! We thought we were smart and safe enough but really weren't! Also, going into the storm water drain, despite the waning mum gave us of flash flooding and a girl she knew who died there. Kids think they are invincible!
Take anything for granted. Also to speak up, I hate being "the quiet one". I literally force myself to speak to others. I will go talk to people to try to impress. I hates talking to strangers for information, things, or advice. But I force myself to do it because I want to be relied on as a person. Not in a overly way, but as in a respected, mature, brave way.
"I want to be (insert every job in the world here) when i grow up". Never again. You can never be sure what's waiting for you.
I hate that question for kids especially younger ones. Probably because I felt pressure or kinda stupid because I didn't have an honest answer, so I made up a generic answer every time. The question should be more like, what do you like to do? And if they are older, what are your plans for the next couple years? FYI: my interests are all over the place and I landed in HR

It was so easy for those teachers to manipulate 3-6 year olds who have never had any knowledge about topics like abuse, harassment, assault. We didn’t talk to our parents because that was normal. Then in the 3rd grade my teacher hit me, and emotionally abused me. I would never let that happen again, I swore I would but it’s happening again. My English teacher abuses her power and abuses our emotions. I tried to make it stop but I had an SM attack and was silenced. I don’t know if I will ever escape from abusive people. I did so much to try and make the pain go away, and I’ll never do any of it in the future, and certainly not as an adult. AND DO NOT ASK FOR DETAILS PLEASE! this is my worst trauma, and I’m trying to normalize it so nobody will go through what I went through,
Shove Bangers (explosive little fireworks that were 'the thing' when I was a 70s kid growing up) down the open end of the handlebar of your friend's bike...
I think we had the same thing, but we called them spanish bangers (cause i think people brought them back off their holidays from there). Tiny things with very inconsistent fuse timings.
Anything to do with fireworks my dad has said he would never approve of now, but back when they were legal and celebrated bonfire night they all did. I don't know how more people weren't killed!
Wonder what it felt like when someone kissed you.
I still wonder, but I don't plan on having my first till WAYYYYY later!
Walk up to someone I don’t know and ask if I can play with them
not enjoy school
you dont need to enjoy it, just learn. but yes, enjoying it is better than nothing.
Jump off the roof of a house. Make a flame thrower with a lighter and a can of gold spray paint—in the garage. Ride my bike like a crazy person, weaving in and out of traffic without a helmet (who the hell wore bike helmets in the 80s?). Pester the hell out of the girl that I liked that clearly didn’t like me (I’m sorry, Rocio). Listen to Bon Jovi. Mouth off to my teachers for no good reason. Drink Jolt Cola.
Everyone has done this, but turn the lights off in the basement, and run up the stairs so that the dark doesn’t swallow me up.
Wear a bikini
I hate them. They are two. . . Reveling. I will always feel uncomfortable in them. :(
I have never felt comfortable in a one piece let alone a bikini. Revealing doesn't begin to describe it. It may as well be body paint for all it leaves to the imagination. Shorts and a top thank you. If I could find an old fashioned bathing suit made of modern materials, I'd wear it.
I used to pour soda in the mailbox on the corner of my street. If I didn’t do that I would drop the can of soda in the mailbox. Thank god cameras weren’t invented in the 80s.
I ate a packet of instant coffee I found in the playground.
Stand on a horse bareback to pick cherries.
I would runaround the house naked after a shower even if the windows were open, sadly cant do that anymore
Pour salsa in three peoples hair
Go into the woods without tick spray.
Do you ever end up in the woods when it hasn’t been part of your original plan?
Yep! That's how I ended up in a tick nest and then almost dying from Lyme Disease! If there's even a chance I bring it 👌if not roll your socks up over your pants & do tick checks after & go to the doctor if you get a rash or any off symptoms. ✌️

Get married. Never again. Was with the guy for five years then we got married when I was 21. Nope. Freedom forever.
Did it once. Didn't work out too well but we had 7 pretty ok years and 2 kids. Said never ever again. Did it again anyway and sort of regret it. Got one more kid though so not all bad but... marriage and children (maybe even more so than marriage) changes relationships so much. They are just not the same after. Like all love and lust run out for a few years and then it's hard to repair that. If I turn out divorced again I won't be having anymore kids though, so if I find love after that maybe it has better odds.
Not realizing lying, stealing and cheating are so rampant.
I am 84. I have a brother 14 years younger than me. He steals from me.

Once Stu k right hand into open wall socket (only got a small stinging feeling before I pulled out) hand was numb for the day
Once had a botched cardioversion before I was fully sedated. It shock enlarged one of my heart chambers permanently.
Want to fake sick to stay home from school (never went through with it)
Never entered my head to do this while still in school Did it about once a month when I was working as an adult.
Cutting open shotgun shells for the powder and stuffing them in a piece of pipe and using a firecracker as a fuse. Stuffing was just tight enough to make a big noise.
