Social media can ruin relationships. Mates become obsessed w the validation of others. Even if you're wrong or not that interesting, enough ppl telling you you are and now the validation of those who know and love you no longer count. I didn't sign up for this in a marriage. Not sure this is beloved by everyone, but AI. AI related things, including "art", have been flooding websites (including BP), and it takes away creativity, while also looking ugly to boot. Not to mention the many hiccups and fails they tend to have. AI "art" feels and looks very soulless, sterile, and has no personality compared to something drawn or painted by an actual human.

AI as we know it right now is still in its infancy so it's making mistakes as it learns, hence the hiccups and fails. Outside of that I do believe it's a Pandora's box that has been opened and the bad will likely far outweigh any good that will come of it but I'm still interested in seeing where it goes.

My issue isn't that people are using AI for fun. My issue is that once AI starts "learning more", for lack of a better term, people try to exploit it for personal gain. Be it social media clout, or when big companies use it for monetary gain. Heck, video game studios like Ubisoft and Blizzard (two of the scummiest in the industry) are reportedly going to start using AI to write dialogue and for "art", respectively.

I’ve never been exposed to drugs, but after reading a lot of books and seeing stuff on TV (not to mention after taking Health class) I have been forever scarred from ever doing drugs. They’re bad for you, they can kill you, decrease your years of life, and your addictions can get in the way of living your life. Same with alcohol. Never trying that, even when I’m old enough.

Don’t get me wrong, if you are doing the Mary Jane, it does not mean you will progress but some people like to experiment

Trouble is, MJ isn't really small when you look at the changes that occur in your body. THC migrates to fatty tissues, where it lingers. Basically all your important systems contain (or are connected by) fatty tissues. Brain cells, for example. It's being linked to ADHD and learning disorders. It affects your central nervous system and your endocrine system, too. I learned all this when I found out I have an allergy to it. I'm here to tell you that being a stagehand allergic to pot suuuucks. 😅

Sport. I do not give a flying f**k which team is competing against which team, or what score they got. I have zero investment in them. I specifically despise international football as it is meaningless. I mean if you buy players from other countries and teams to make your team win, it's no longer your national team, it's just an international hodgepodge team. I respect skill talent etc., but the level of fascination people have with this concerns me, not to mention the vast amount of money involved. I'd really prefer if people were that interested in scientists and their achievements instead of being covid denialists of antivaxxers. I mean... your idea of interesting is whether a guy can carry a ball across a field and deposit it on the grass. Really? No wonder you don't understand how RNA works.

I've been to hockey games and soccer games. I like soccer but not with the amount of zeal some have. Most of the time I'm just waiting for a player to do a cool move. The last soccer game I went to we lost on our home turf with an embarrassing amount of back to back 6 goals within about 2 minutes. We lost 0-9. Apparently it's not the worst losing game in the history of soccer football. You win some, you lose some. Would just have been nice to be at a game when your team wins. That was the second game I went to that season and each time the team lost. I hated it when the opposing team scored a goal and gloated to the fans. At hockey games it's the fights that make the entertainment. Most of the time I don't know where the puck or ball is. I just see players running/skating this way and that. Soccer players are much hotter, though. That's a bigger reason why I prefer soccer. 😅

I am 41 years old, I have never seen, held or been in the presence of a gun outwith airports - something folks in America find quite astounding. Guns aren't an everyday part of the majority of the worlds daily life, we don't have to worry about school shootings, mall shootings, random attacks in the street, drive bys and all the stuff that's a daily fear in America. I'll never forget the sheer look of terror on my friends face when visiting us in Scotland when fireworks went off (was start of November, so they were going off all the time) and they hit the deck while everyone else just sat there thinking what's the heck is wrong with them - it's a fear we just don't have. I couldn't live in a society that values gun ownership over children's safety in school - dunblane was enough for us, we lost enough kids in that one event and we've made sure it isn't about to happen again and it hasn't since 1996. America baffles me

I mean, what are they contributing to the world other than entertainment? They’re like a bunch of buff monkeys in a circus lol. Pardon my rudeness, I mostly meant the larger teams with famous players. It’s alright to play sports for exercise or if you like it

I think there are a lot of contributions. There is a feeling of comradery among fans of particular sports. Being in a packed stadium with like-minded fans can be a thrilling experience for many people. Having a winning team in a city or region after a drought of losing seasons can change the moods of many folks. Talking about sports at parties is a low-stakes way to interact and connect, avoiding the pitfalls of current events, religions and politics. Of course, like any group of people, some sports fans are single-minded, rigid, overbearing doofuses (doofii?), but that's more about the person than the sport. Unless you're from Philadelphia; they're all maniacs. /s

I was reading in a restaurant, because alone? Lady comes over from a table with kids and says I'm setting a bad example for her kids. I look up, and she tells me that it is rude to read at the table. I told her it is rude to tell perfect strangers they're being rude when I'm quietly enjoying my book. She stood there until I told her to please go away. She went back to her table and the whole family stared at me until they left. She also told the waitress they shouldn't let people read at the table, and the waitress basically walked away looking dazed.

I don’t like when romance overshadows the plot. I wish it could take a backseat, or maybe be nonexistent. (And not talking about movies where romance is INTENTIONALLY the plot—like rom-coms, etc.— just the movies and books where romance is completely unnecessary, you’re supposed to be running away not making out, and they were better off friends anyway.)

Yes! I once told a woman about this novel I want to write and she was like: who will be your main character's love interest? Nobody, lady! (Well, I've changed my mind a bit. My MC will have a dead warrior as her love interest. Not any intense love scenes, though. Perhaps a kiss by the end or something. I dunno).

The novels I’m writing have (wait for it, drumroll please): NO love interests for the main characters. There’s multiple that I want to write. There’s a girl who’s friends with two guys but there’s nothing romantic between them. Which may end up shocking people. But anyway, when your novel’s finished, let me know in the comments and I’ll see if I can read it! You had me at “dead warrior”. Is it gonna be action or fantasy or anything? (Or if you don’t wanna give anything that could be a spoiler, that’s cool too.)

This is going to sound ironic coming from a car girl, but... Muscle cars. It's either a 40-year-old man on his 3rd divorce, which is fine, or a 16-year-old who made their dad pay for the car that's driving one. And they always try to look cool, without knowing how to drive it. They pull up to a car meet, bone stock, and try to brag about how their car is so much better than everyone else's. They can see someone who trained for years drifting on a professional track, and then they try doing donuts in a 4-way intersection. They're overrated, and the younger drivers are stupid.

And they've just GOT to show off for any girl driving what they consider to be a lesser car. My friend was driving my car. (I was in the passenger seat.) A muscle car, with two teenage boys, decided to impress her with their prowess. They're sitting at the light, revving the motor and jerking the car forward a couple of inches, etc. I quietly said, "When the light changes, just GO." The bigshots stalled out, we shot forward...and had to pull over a few blocks down because we were laughing so hard. (I owned a V-8 Delta 88. It looks like a staid family car. But it can *move*.) We were already moving again when the muscle car shot by us, doing about 60--20 miles over the speed limit. They kept going--right past the police station at shift change; 2 cars peeled out right after them. So we got to pass them again, sedately doing the speed limit, while they sat at the side of the road with a set of revolving lights on the car behind them. We laughed all the way home.

You and OP are part of the same gatekeeping club aren't you? When all things are factored in, how is your electric car not an environmental disaster? How is it efficient when all things are factored? And you prove, with your PS, that electric cars are just as pretentious as those you denigrate as being pretentious.

Mushrooms (not the hallucinogenic kind). I could never stomach them, they have little flavour, and the texture did not feel good when I tried eating them. It's so bad for me that I can't even eat them when they are mixed in with other foods (my palette knows when they are there).

I also don't like many foods if the texture is off, even if it tastes okay. But I do think that many of us don't like a food because of the cooking method used. My mom is a terrible cook, and my stepdad was a hunter, which resulted in some god awful dinners growing up. I've since learned that mushrooms should not be washed, but brushed or wiped clean before cooking or they become rubbery sponges.

I hate the whole point of Frozen. All I got from it was that Elsa is a princess who can turn things into ice. She gets into a fight with her sister. Runs away. Builds an epic ice castle. Her sister goes finds her. The only interesting thing was the ice castle. I much preferred the other fairy tale stories. And that damn terrible song.

I like skinny jeans - especially in winter for wearing with boots. Summer I prefer flared jeans as they're more comfortable and I don't have to worry about then getting wet and soaking up all the water from the ground and me being soaked to my knees. Generally I just wear what I feel comfortable in and that I like, if that happens to be fashionable then great, if it isn't I don't especially care - I'm still a tad on the goth side when it comes to how I dress anyway - emo 'til I die

I tried watching both, but I get bored very easily. If I do watch a sport, generally it's a combat sport like MMA or Boxing. Much quicker, and the fights are generally more exciting to watch than just running around.

That goddamn movie "Grease". It's got THE most annoying soundtrack of any movie. I was stuck working in a theme-restaurant where parts of the soundtrack were played in the music rotation and some servers would prance around singing along with it like it was the greatest thing to ever exist (while some of us would be trying not to puke). Oh...and as a bonus: F**K "YMCA" !!!!!!

Agree 100% about modern country. I do like Johnny Cash and his era, though. Some pop is extremely good, with complex instrumentation and meaningful lyrics. When I'm too tired to choose, I'll always pick the heaviest of my playlists, a weird combination of varying metal subgenres, punk, grunge, and hardcore. It soothes my soul.

Pop is really overrated, and I think spans over way too many songs. It’s too easy to make a pop song. Country, my father sometimes played. My mom doesn’t like it, but I don’t mind it. I like the funny stories, like kid named Sue, or the one where the guy’s mom got run over by a train or truck, or the one where he “shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.” They’re fun to fake sadness too.

HUMANS NEED FANTASY TO BE HUMAN. AS PRACTICE. YOU HAVE TO START OUT LEARNING TO BELIEVE THE LITTLE LIES. "So we can believe the big ones?" YES. JUSTICE. MERCY. DUTY. THAT SORT OF THING. "They're not the same at all!" YOU THINK SO? THEN TAKE THE UNIVERSE AND GRIND IT DOWN TO THE FINEST POWDER AND SIEVE IT THROUGH THE FINEST SIEVE AND THEN SHOW ME ONE ATOM OF JUSTICE, ONE MOLECULE OF MERCY. AND YET—Death waved a hand. AND YET YOU ACT AS IF THERE IS SOME IDEAL ORDER IN THE WORLD, AS IF THERE IS SOME...SOME RIGHTNESS IN THE UNIVERSE BY WHICH IT MAY BE JUDGED. Classic rock. Now I don't hate the music per se, I really like Bon Jovi or Queen. What makes it bitter for me are the fans who act like classic rock is the only acceptable music to listen to and they literally have murder in their eyes when I say I prefer modern / alternative rock (I'm not even saying modern rock is BETTER, only that I PREFER it).

I've always thought that groups like The Doors, Buffalo Springfield, even Robin Trower, etc. were "classic rock". People referring to Bon Jovi as classic rock is something I still can't wrap my mind around. I know, I'm old.

People thought the Viennese Waltz was scandalous in its time. You, too, are allowed your opinion regardless of its absurdity. Classic rock RULES. Ok, ok... jk. I love all music. Fun fact: Cherri Bomb founding members were sisters, and their mom played "Lambchops" in Fame.

While I'm more of a metalhead, I have the same stance as you of preferring modern metal bands compared to classic metal (a lot of the stuff from the 70's or 80's considered to be heavy metal aren't as intense as the stuff today). There are still some older metal bands, like Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden, that I really like. But I prefer more of the metalcore/modern metal artists, like Trivium, Killswitch Engage, Ice Nine Kills, and Coldrain.

Well, I don’t wish to offend anyone. I do not wish anyone dead. The person that most people seem to like nowadays, is Harry Styles. They like his catchy music, and who knows what else. I do not hate Harry, I just strongly dislike. I interestingly suffer immensely whenever a devilishly catchy song of his is on, despite everyone else dancing. I’m not sure what it is, maybe it’s that I have a pop star already in my heart, and there’s no room for more. Maybe I dislike how the songs get stuck in my head, and unlike other songs that I enjoy in my head, these are obnoxious. I’m sorry to anyone I offended

Haha I am the same with the band Nightwish. When I was younger this band was so super popular at the bar I used to go to (it was where all metal heads and punks went) and I always just left for a few minutes when a song by Nightwish came on the speakers. Never actually listened to an entire song by them.... I just can't stand their music.

The Disney company. So money grubbing. The first unattainable product? Their movies in the theaters. Then cable. Then their parks. As a poor, young kid in the '70's, Disney seemed made for the rich. And today they are really out of reach with Covid shutting them down and then trying to get it back by tripling their prices at the parks. At least as an adult I can see some movies at matinees!

Not so much 'Journey' as it is Steve Perry's exceptional voice range and power. Example: Freddie Mercury could not match Steve Perry's range, but Steve can easily sing all Freddie's notes. Oh yeah. Try listening to songs other than the band's big singles. It's truly a powerful voice, and soars into 5th octave.

I get it. I entered myself in a local, small karaoke contest (cos it was the usual karaoke night but the local contest was going on and priority was given to contestants, so I signed up just to have the chance to have some turns). There was a girl who also entered and she sounded ... sounded too good. Recording studio singers, we liked to call them. I think she sang something along the lines of Celine Dion or something along those lines. She was decent, like a Madonna back in the day voice. I sang something by Gwen Stefani. Now, when I sing I have this habit of trying to emulate to sound just like the original vocalist for the song. I can do, what I think is, a good Gwen Stefani impression. I got 2nd place. One of the judges told me I had an interesting voice. The other girl, he said, sounded really good but her voice was just like that of everyone else he's heard and it was sort of boring. It gave me a new perspective on vocal appreciation for uniqueness and how someone sings the words.

I HATE cringe culture/cringe comps. Yes, some things probably shouldn't have been posted online (looking at you, weird/creepy POV videos), but for the most part, cringe compilations are just a pathetic excuse to make fun of people who don't fit into the expectation of "normal" (alt style, furries, etc) who are just living their lives. Often, it's targeted at things that can't be controlled (being LGBTQ+, otherkin, etc) Life is short, do what makes you happy.

Videoing strangers in public. I get public is public, and there's not much privacy to pick out a wedgie. However, when you're out in public no one is really paying attention to every single person in their vicinity at all times, and if they are it's just a couple people noticing or a few. Depending on the crowd and what's happening. Everyone else in the world is completely oblivious of your existence. Now when you're put in a video that's gone world wide viral, that's a whole other level of being under the public eye. When you shame someone for doing nothing wrong but maybe they're pants are hanging too low for a moment while exercising, like, come on. The video taker is often acting like they don't get wedgies or make errors.

Raw tomatoes (or diced, sliced, cherry, or any other way of preparing tomatoes where there are still large chunks of them) shouldn't be eaten. You wouldn't eat a cinnamon stick, cocoa powder, Ginger root, or raw uranium. They are all ingredients to be used in something much larger.

Sort of disagree. While yes, I agree Love and Thunder, Eternals, and Quantumania were weak outings, and was mixed on Multiverse of Madness and Black Widow, there were some great outings. Both Spiderman films (Far From Home and No Way Home), Shang-Chi (personal martial arts bias), and Wakanda Forever were awesome. Haven't seen Guardians 3 yet, so I can't comment on that one.

Dude if you have not had wood-fired pizza from an actual italian restaurant run by actual italians where they make the dough in front of you from scratch, you have no idea what pizza is. You are probably thinking of those god awful biscuits (cookies) that you buy in the freezer section of the store where you put it in the oven with some slices of stuff on it. That is NOT pizza, it is a BLASPHEMY and the LORD looketh down upon it with FURY.

To me, salad is just leaves. You might as well have picked some grass and decided to eat it, or flowers or random plants or whatever. I haven’t tried it in a long time, but it disgusted me back then and I never understood why people WANTED to eat leaves. (And no, I didn’t try it with dressing or anything, and yes, I’m sure it does taste better with dressing, and no, I don’t feel like trying it now.)

Milk in Cereal... I was that weird kid in school with the weird food allergies. Being Lactose Intolerant and Whey allergic, I couldn't have "normal" things like: Milk - white or chocolate? No Ice Cream. No Pizza. No "Wonder Bread". No Cheese...Nothing with milk in it. Milk made me horribly ill! The alternative? Soy Milk. Now the soy milk today are quite delicious. Not the "Old School" Soy milk 🙊😝 I can't even describe it's horrid taste! Try pouring something like... "Dirty Dish Water" + "Dirty Laundry Water" + Dirty Bath Water" = Old School Soy Milk...lmagine pouring that into your cereal? How about that as the ONLY flavour of Ice Cream? By the time I was in 1st grade, I was eating "Pure Baker's, Unsweetened Chocolate" By 3rd grade, I was eating my cereal DRY! People today still look at me funny tho and the stuff today tastes really good compared to the old school soy.
