Thanks! It was a long process, but totally worth it! I never had a pet before or cared to, but after Cinder and how satisfying it was, I've decided any pet I'd get would be a rescue. And now we have a second cat.

Thanks! Cinder was my first pet. I wish she didn't have to go through that trauma, she came pretty close to death, but I'm so glad I found her. It was such a satisfying experience helping her and watching her transform from a sickly stray into a healthy playful little weirdo. Because of that I wanted to take in adult cats that need a home.

They named him Bas at the refuge, but we feel that doesn't suit him, so we are looking around for another name. He is a tall and lean man, so we are looking for something distinguished :)

Thank you! Marmalade is a very feisty, dramatic lady! She's doing well, energetic with a good appetite, has gained weight and obviously looks beautiful. ;) But the kidney levels are still elevated, which is a given since kidney failure is generally irreversible and can only be managed. Our goal is quality of life - as long as she's happy, eating well, safe and active, that's all that matters!

He was taken off his first owners at just over a year. Then spent over 3.5 years in a shelter. Apparently nobody ever asked to see him... He is a difficult one - took a couple of months of several weekly visits to build trust. Now he is turning 7 and while still not a fan of strangers and other little things, he is the funniest, most loving, intelligent, adorable dog in the word. We love him so, so much! He is mainly dachshund/ labrador. A funny mix with a huge head and wee legs. That face can melt stones.

That's awesome! My Cinder is a rescue and can be difficult. She has alot of anxiety, some due to trauma, and she can get jealous. She requires alot of attention. But it's totally worth it because she is so sweet, playful and funny. Best of luck to you both

Apparently I'm not all that bright at 3 am. This is Selena. She was a rescue who had worms when I got her at a year old. Now she's a middle aged sweetheart with severe arthritis. Even though she occasionally bites from pain she still let's us have unlimited belly, head bumps and biscuits. She's wearing her Christmas sweater for the first time and was not impressed!
