I touched peanut butter and rubbed it in my eye.
Yup, I'm severely allergic to peanuts. And I was about 1 when this happened.
Motorbike accident. Short version: got spat off the bike at around 150kph, flung upside down across road, hit crash barrier with my back. Loads of injuries, but survived with not too much long-term effect. But had I been 50cm higher up it would have been my helmet that took the impact instead of my back protector and my head would have remained the other side of the crash barrier. I gave up riding after that.
When I was little, I tried to plug an electrical device in the dark (I didn't want to wake up the other people sleeping in the room). It was only after the third attempt that I understood why my hand got light blue and shook violently. My best Darwin Award moment so far.
Drowning...
Got hypothermia on a camping trip. It was in April, and the snow was just melting, and we got into a snowball fight. I was sopping wet and freezing, and then me and the rest of the kids secretly broke curfew, and it was like one a.m. before we went back to our tents. I didn't have any other clothes that weren't wet, so I just slept in my wet clothes. The whole time I was shivering uncontrollably, and at one point I stopped shivering... Anyways, I was fine when I woke up in the morning, thankfully.
I could be immortal--I have a lot. One: I narrowly avoided a major concussion after being run over by a classmate on the blacktop. Two: I almost drowned twice. Three: I almost choked to death on a peanut butter jelly sandwich without enough jelly.
Carbon monoxide. My ex husband and I were renting a house with gas heat. The heater in the bathroom adjacent to our bedroom had gone out overnight. My ex got up to go to work, came to kiss me and I didn't respond. He tried shaking me, then tried lifting me up. He said my eyes were rolling back. He opened a window and I started responding. He threw clothes on me and took me to the ER. They took me straight back and drew blood. They asked me if anyone had been in the room with me. I told them my husband, they asked where he was, and I told them " the waiting room". They went and got him. The blood showed carbon monoxide. We had to go to an Air Force base and sit in a hyperbaric chamber and get pressurized. Fun times.
