Yeah, me too. I have definitely been living under a rock, music-wise, for the last 30-odd years. And ever since you didn't have to rely on broadcast radio for music, especially when driving, it's been even easier to remain in your own preferred music bubble. It's not that _all_ modern music is sh1t, but my tolerance for the bad stuff was never high even back when I still listened to BBC Radio1 every day with my clock radio alarm and in the car, and nowadays it's just so much easier to avoid it altogether.

Very few. There are reasons they have "Classic Rock" and "Oldies" stations on the radio: because the music is good and memorable. Today's (s) Hit Music" is entirely forgettable.
