I agree. I think a v neck with capped sleeves in a plum/dark red would suit him. I also think some structured shape around the hips of a petty coat layer to lift the bottom of the dress slightly would have been more flattering on the waist.

Who chose this photo?! This is from the after party, of course she was dressed down! The actual outfit did not have the cap or the purse, rather it was accessorized by a gorgeous golden feather-design tie. This photo and description does zero justice to the outfit.
