Girl Explains Why She Won’t Send Nudes On Tinder, Guy Convinces Her Otherwise
‘Send nudes’ has become the punchline of many a visual joke on the Internet, where you follow instructions to manipulate an image and end with a tongue-in-cheek request for provocative pics. Unfortunately, there is also a much darker side to it, too, with many people, particularly women, constantly harassed on online dating sites and apps to snap pics of themselves. Who knows where these profoundly personal images from dating apps might end up?
Tinder user Catherine took on this issue straight up on her dating profile, using a lighthearted analogy with the movie ‘Titanic’ to make her point. “No one is safe!” she jokes, and having read her amusing Tinder bio story, she is quite right.
Not to be deterred, however, one guy decided to put Catherine’s theory to the test and cheekily found a loophole in dating rules to exploit. She shouldn’t send nudes for his sake, but for her children!
Catherine was so impressed with the creativity and humor of this guy’s pick-up line that she just had to show her mom, who recommended her daughter send nudes post-haste. At one fell swoop, he has got the girl, won her mom’s approval, and talk of children is already on the cards. Well played, sir!
I am sorry, say what you want but I keep thinking that asking for nudes to random strangers is very rude...
And considering to take or send nudes with untrusted devices (which essentially most smartphones are) is negligent.
Why am I not feeling the joy and warmth and romance of this exchange that apparently so many other people are, including the woman's mother (wtf?)?
Me neither. Too many of these nudes end up being used for revenge porn when the relationship ends and the one who got dumped gets spiteful and nasty.
what the heck is wrong with people? first of all, the couple in titanic didn't exist, it wz make believe, a MOVIE. second, i don't know anyone that had a good turn with nudes being sent, so far everyone has been bitten. third, her mom is as much of a nut as the guy. what if it turns out he uses those images to blackmail her? do people think anymore? stories like these make me rethink Bored Panda and humanity. ACTUALLY I'M THROUGH, i will stick with dogs and leave it at that.
I'm pretty sure that the part about the photos of the couple was all tongue-in-cheek. I'm sure no-one thought that there were real photos in that movie, even if they thought the couple was real. Also, I doubt her mom did more than joke about sending nudes. It's funny. Actually sending them would be a different matter, and nowhere does it say that she did.
Also, the pictures in the movie were sketches, not even photos. Even back then nude photos could have been used for blackmail. Photos have never been in the same category as artwork.
