Footage was released showing a boa constrictor, one of the largest snakes in the world, writhing in pain after attacking a porcupine and getting pierced by its spikes – and the video itself is even painful to watch.
The wince-inducing scene was filmed in Brazil – these types of snakes like tropical climates. They can grow up to 13 feet in length. Boas are not poisonous, but just as deadly. They will hide until they see a potential next meal come along, and then do a surprise attack. As their name points out, boa constrictors will coil their bodies around the prey, and squeeze their coils until the prey stops breathing. They typically feed on birds, lizards, frogs and small mammals. The bigger boa constrictors will even eat monkeys, pigs or deer.
Unfortunately, for this little fellow, eating a porcupine was not such a good idea, as these animals have quills to defend themselves. One thing is for sure – it’s wild out there!

Load More Replies...safety first, but yes.. lets help this poor bugger.
Load More Replies...Does anyone else feel uncomfortable that an animal's pain was filmed just for the sake of social media? Unless it's helped it's probably going to die slowly... and while, yeah, this kind of s**t happens in the wild all the time I really couldn't see myself stopping to film it. I'd rather be on the phone with aspca or animal control or anyone that had the proper knowledge on how to help it or put it down so it can stop suffering.
You mean the way Nat Geo has done for 150+ years?
Load More Replies...Can somebody please reassure that that poor predator was helped out and eased of from his stubidness!!?
Hi Amanda, I'm from Brazil and the guy who's narrating the video said that the snake didn't eat the porcupine, he managed to escape.
Load More Replies...This breaks my heart! I don't like snakes, but they don't deserve to suffer or be in pain! I hope someone either saved this snake, or put it out of it's misery!
instead of filming this boa's agony for cheap human thrills - the decent, humane thing to do would be to swiftly kill the poor creature
I wish a human would help this poor thing. They could easily drug it and take out all of the spikes... so sad that they were entertained by its pain. Humans make me sad most days. :(
this is horrible honestly, cool in a morbid way, but as someone who loves danger noodles, this is horrible.
If that was me I would be helping that poor Boa :(
Load More Replies..."...and learned a painful lesson..."?!? No, it will die. It even has spikes in its mouth. Instead of being a complete moron helping the poor creature would be the only thing to do here. For the people convinced the snake will "attack" them after, I hope that some day someone will think the same about you when you are in need of help.
Exactly. I can understand steering clear of a venomous snake, but boas aren't. There is no excuse for this. If you're scared, call animal control or someone who will actually have resources to help. You don't just sit there filming.
Load More Replies...Maybe it was its intention all along... dun dun dduuuuuunnn XD
Load More Replies...Everyone saying poor snake should think of the poor porcupine also. This is nature. A predator happened to eat prey with excellent defenses and is hurt also.
thx man i dont understand why they poeple feel sry for the snake , they wanna help the snake to kill more?
Load More Replies...I would have at least tried and get a lot of those out. :( but of course we film everything thinking it's hilarious
You people don't think, you could get attacked. Wounded snakes are not ones to mess with.
Load More Replies...Be kinder to put the poor thing out of its misery. They'd never get all those quills out of it.
This is what we called survival of the fittest. But not for the poor snake.. lol
What idiot took footage rather than putting the snake out of it's misery first?
I was hoping this video would end with a vet or someone removing the spikes. Who just films a suffering animal for social media likes? Disgusting.
why pity this snake!!!!!! it would squeeze you to death if it got a chance.
not venomous, ffs people who do these articles need to learn the difference

What the hell!! Did anybody help him? Or were they to f*****g busy filming him being in pain. This is just sooo not right.
This website always annoys me. Did they get the boa to the vet or did the person videoing it get their 5 minutes of fame and leave the thing to die?
Interfere nature? I do think someone put a Porcupine with this starved snake and flim this aftermatch
Well~ he diid try to eat that porcupine, sooo he can't be that poor
I sure hope they tried to help that beautiful creature. I don't think I could of filmed it and then just walked away.
Come on humans help him. Look he got pricked. Let's take a video and not help him. That is what I feel most humans think first.
It didnt get pierced, it became pierced. Also it didn't learn any lesson. If it happened to live, it would still follow instinct.

Natural Selection. Let it die in peace. Human should not meddle in natures business.
Those porky quills are barbed, and aren't coming out. That snake will suffer for a while, until a predator or secondary infections kill it. Best move would be a quick hit with a machete behind it's head. javascript:void(0); Damn, nature. You scary.
The kindest thing would be to take a machete to that snake. It probably isn't going to survive the secondary infections, but it won't die quickly. With no way to pull those quills out, it will just suffer for a while. Porky quills are barbs, and don't just work their way out on their own. Ow. Damn, nature. You scary.
Thats painful to watch. I would have probably tried to help pull the spines out but even so, it probably wouldnt have survived. I love snakes and i have two pet snakes but in this situation it might have been best to put it out of its misery. :(
Unlucky for the snake but please explain to me why the hell are porcupine quills the color of a highlighter?
idk, why so some people have red hair? its not a common color for their quills but its not unheard of either
Load More Replies...I would think that with porcupines being native to South America, that the snake would instinctively know better...
Looks like the porcupine got its revenge. How would the snake get out of this one.
Snake video is completely fake. Just snake torture. Please take this video down. There are real images of a snake swallowing a porcupine that look nothing like this. Please stop sharing this copy it isn't real it's only cruel.
Notice how fake this looks. Whoever took the original video did this to torture the snake so they could have a video for YouTube. Just Google search porcupine vs python and you'll notice there are a few different snakes that have actually swallowed a porcupine. You can see the huge bulge inside them. Also footage of the snake cut open with quills embedded in it's digestive. All the images if the green quill covered live snake are images of the same snake. Copied over and over. There is no dissection because the spikes we're forced into the snake from the outside. This is nothing more than some idiots sick idea so he could post a video on YouTube. It's just some fool torturing a snake for no other reason than to get a video to upload on YouTube. I'm trying to trace the original clip but until I find it every copy I do find is getting exposed for the fake that it is.
F**k dirty f****r... they shouldn't be allowed as pets, their a predator animal that will kill at will.. thus c**p of considering it like a dog is stupid...would a dog try and swallow that porcupine.. and oh ya, for the snake lovers, nothing about the poor porcupine that it f****n swallowed... their not for pets and if ye loved them so much ye wouldn't have them as pets, their wild animal same as lion or tiger, but the neo- coolios and rock masters think it's the s**t to keep one to try get laid by impressing some freak they pulled at the latest slayer gig they at
f**k that, its kill or be killed. how bout, "poor porcupine, it was almost squeezed to death for the eating pleasure of the mean boa constrictor"? love to watch the video of one of y'all trying to remove the spikes, but someone would probably comment about how inhumane it is to tranquilize it with another "spike", and if you put it out of its misery someone else is gonna comment about how wrong that is too. no winning with you f***s
forgot the part about it being highly unlikely that they had the means to do either of those things at the moment`
