The infamous Nike ad face Colin Kaepernick first gained public attention because of his decision to sit during the US national anthem, while the tradition dictates standing up. Though it soon came clear that his reason for sitting was much deeper than plain disrespect - Colin stated: "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football, and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way." Exactly because of this activism, he was chosen as the face for Nike ads. Some accepted it with praise, and some felt that it was a disgrace and ended up protesting and defacing Nike products. This is a perfect depiction of modern America - racism, manufactured outrage, a cult of celebrity, commercialization and petty vindictiveness.

How much is the average wage in that country? Statements without context is meaningless. If Nike paid $7 an hour they would be putting other companies in that country out of business.

If its Indonesia, (since we do have Nike factory here) then the currency is 15.000 Idr for 1$. (I hope it will coming down soon) and the average wage for each city is different. But let me tell you these, a lot of indonesian companies or everseas company didnt pay by hour. We may never know how many rupiah we get paid for hourly rates. They paid us monthly income without explanation of how many rupiah we earn on 1 hour. My friend's mother work like that too and her income for a month is 700.000-1.000.000IDR or 40-70$ and it wasnt enough for a month for people with family! The minimum wage of Indonesia range on 1.8-4.5 million rupiah and they definitely paid their worker less than the minimum wage of it.

It amazes me how much hatred comes from liberals. They are so uneducated about politics and how much good Trump has done for this country. The facts don't lie, only the media and ultra liberals. She has routinely made a fool of herself with stupid comments that make Trump sound like a genius. She brags about her prestigious economics degree from a major university yet had no clue how unemployment worked (hilarious vid), how taxes are garnered in the US, and more. Then bludered on many foreign policy issues and then defended herself as "I am not well versed in those issues, but I know my policies are the right ones", and so on. Each time she gets caught saying something really ignorant or stupid she backs up with the claim that just because she doesn't know, doesn't mean her policies aren't because she believes in her ideology and therefore her policies must be the best. I don't understand Americans and their obsession with the flag. Why have so much faith in a piece of fabric even if it is a symbol...a symbol of what. Here's what the Australians think of the flag; they want the Union Jack off it or a much smaller representation of white settlement and the Aboriginal colours on it somewhere, it's flies on flagpole and if it fell down, people would just say "crikey, there's a flag on the ground." It doesn't represent the people or any war that Aussies fought in. And while we wave it to show support for athletes it's more than likely wearing green and gold and painting a kangaroo on our faces at a sports event has more of an impact than the flag.

Basically what I've noticed living in this country for 40 years is that white trash Americans who never do anything for their country but b***h about how much it sucks buy up a bunch of Chinese made American flags, cover everything they own in them, then pretend like they're "better, more patriotic Americans" than everyone else for having so many flags. Kaepernick acted on his conscience. He took a risk and paid a great price. It was his right, and it was his choice. It seems that so many haters do not reflect on their conscience. They jump on the hate wagon and say taking a knee during the anthem is unpatriotic...they just do not get it. Taking a knee is a powerful demonstration of respect...in church...before the Queen. Taking a knee with a bowed head is deeply respectful. But in this context is is also respecting lives taken illegally, by empowered people with hate and racist feelings...well documented..well documented. He is a hero, and I am glad he has some recognition.

You can make something sound ridiculous by leaching the political statement out of it. Nobody was angry at a guy taking a knee. People were angry about the statement he was making and the way he was making it. This is like saying about the flag-burning controversy that it was ridiculous when people got all bent out of shape because somebody burned a bit of cloth. If you're autistic, then you can be forgiven for thinking the Kaepernick issue is about "taking a knee." Otherwise, you're being dishonest. I'm kinda guessing it's the latter.
