Having run for almost 30 years (and counting!), The Simpsons is the longest-running sitcom in the world.
As with all popular cartoons, however, a number of fans will argue that things can get stale around the middle of their duration, and The Simpsons are absolutely no exception to this rule. Some say that around seasons 10-11, the show lost its way and became a parody of itself.
Yet this is only an opinion held by some fans, and we'd like to give a shoutout to Simpsons fan blog, FY Springfield, for upholding the idea that the show didn't lose its way over seasons 10-11, Simpsons jokes merely changed comic direction.
In the list below, the good people from FY Springfield have compiled a list of the best jokes delivered by our beloved famous characters from later series, proving that one of the world's best-loved sitcoms remains as funny as ever!
Now, scroll down below, check the funniest jokes that we came across and tell us which of The Simpsons characters was the funniest!

Most people will still obeye. Like with a red traffic light on an empty street at 3am.
If you don't see a car or a person or any other kind of vehicle coming it doesn't mean it is not coming. Red light means STOP, that's it. Even if it's second friday of April 1978 and you are in a suburb of some small town on a Saturn ring. YOU MUST STOP AND WAIT TILL GREEN! People die because of those like you.
Load More Replies...There are also traffic lights in Holland and signs? What's your point?
Load More Replies...It means she does the accounting for the family and takes money when she needs it
Load More Replies...That demographic sure showed the world a thing or two last November
There's nothing wrong with this comment. I don't know why it's been down voted.
Load More Replies...Bettina I'm saying that's why people downvoted it. She's explaining something to people who already know this. Btw don't make assumptions, i studied 4 languages.
Load More Replies...Just turn off all the lights and it will be something else casting a shadow.
This is not a joke, but one of the rare moments when Homer behave as a husband Marge deserves.
Omg, can't you see (like Marge) that next window is already broken and they can leave anytime they want???
Load More Replies...They were trapped and the door wouldn't turn. It is more sweet than funny?
It is. And maybe that's where the joke is. However, I'd be reluctant to go through broken glass....
Load More Replies...marge deserves this her husband being true to her like he should be to all those husbands out there
Good to know. You're now on my list of "people to never cohabit with". The list has about 7.49 billion people on it already. :-D
Load More Replies...That's the thing about life. It's never so bad that it can't get worse.

that star got fu... already , luckily - who'd want their rubbish anyway - 40+ old w..? males ???
Load More Replies...These will make a lot more sense if you are familiar with the series.
Load More Replies...Little trivia, all simpsons characters have four fingers. Yet god is always depicted with five fingers.
That's interesting. I would never have counted God's digits. I like clever little jokes.
Load More Replies...The picture clearly shows 4 fingers. No Simpsons (or God) has a pinky. God /Jeaus/ Holy Ghost are 3 in one. Separate but the same.
If by three in one you mean they are all members of a sort of godhead, and no they are not the same.
Load More Replies...My old boss said once: "After 30 years of marriage I realised there is only one thing what can give you joy in your life: football."
She can write "F**k you" on each one, it will express what she feels about this nonsense of an obligation and it will stay in the theme of Valentine's day. This way everybody is happy.
Just make it into something you like Lisa. If you like homestuck, make them homestuck themed. If you take an interest in pride, try to put everyone’s sexuality on their card. If you like to tell people how pointless it is, write down how pointless it is.
Well, Jobs used to be explicit in his opinions about his customers → "Stay hungry, stay foolish". Self-explanatory.
Actually, he was quoting a magazine he liked as a child and when he said that, he was talking to Stanford students at graduation. What he meant is that he wanted them never to give up in their pursuit of knowledge and never to be satisfied with 'good enough.' Stay hungry for knowledge. Never assume you know everything.
Load More Replies...I'm not a sheephearder, sadly my life is stupider, working on all that stuff, so I am going into medicine...all I said is real...The sheep thing would be grander.
Hey, he was very wise. If the sheeps are too stupid to understand what a fraud all these products are, he is perfectly right to take advantage of them. Sheeps want a s**t with a fruit picture on it with a price of 3 digits? S**t, put a fruit picture on it and put a price tage of 3 digits. Take out the popcorn, watch the sheeps, laugh at them and go s**t some more. The only thing is to not forget the fruit image, that's all that is important.
please find another word. it's getting old.

In this one they were using bowling balls to smuggle booze because alcohol was made illegal.
I'm not gonna lie to you is something we say before telling an embarrassing truth instead of a lie, Homer said "I'm not gonna lie" and said nothing at all, he just not told a lie x)
Load More Replies...Jokes on you I like doing that to movies like -Bee movie, Ladybug/Miraculious, and the weird emoji movie
I'm democratic myself, but while I don't necessarily agree with the way republicans think, I can still respect them and it only fuels the widening division that's happening today. We should try to overcome differences rather than let them tear us apart.
I agree with you a hundred percent I myself personally am a republican and I don't always agree with democratic ideas either but I think we need to respect each others options and argue and fight.
Load More Replies...This is such a weird thing to me, I have seen this in movies too, where people cut ties with people, or would not date someone because of that. I am in my 40's and I would have no clue who anyone I know would vote for, not American, but it just does not seem like a thing in any other country but there ? An American friend once told me that you 'register your party' as in you like lock it in that you are such and such party follower. So bizarre to me.
America loves it's teams. Sports, politics, universities, it's all about who you cheer for. It's bizarre to me too.
Load More Replies...I'll be honest: I don't fully associate with either major political party. That's why I avoid politics like the PLAGUE.
If you watch the episode, her Republican friend is actually very manipulative and conniving. She's not a nice person.
no toilets in hades..eternal suffering without relief...so stinky and sticky
"15 minute discussion of gender inequality in the solar system"
Actually, Pluto isn’t a planet because there are other celestial bodies in the kuiper belt (yes that’s how it’s spelled).
I think you mean Art College. Colleges that focus explicitly on preparing you for the workforce are worth the investment.

Load More Replies...In Family Guy, I want Meg to get revenge, not make an episode about it but just her getting a small revenge like a comeback or returning a prank. Eventually there will be more and more occurrences until she goes from “punching bag” to “mess with me so I can kill you” similar to how Brian went from “voice of reason” to “preachy hypocrite”.
Everyone is Matter it's what we do with the Matter we are made of to make us matter.
You don't throw away your lunch box when you're done eating, you bring it back home with you.
When my husband starts talking I lose him in a dream land and when he stops I kind of have the same question.
Yep, that's absolutely true. Sorry guys - be helpful if you were clairvoyants!

If there was one thing that Homer was consistently good at, it's expressing his affection for Marge.

Load More Replies...That's one of the best gags if the entire show. Simpson men killed her twice.
I'm of the opinion that the early seasons were better (they had less direct pop culture references, for one thing), but that doesn't mean NOTHING in the later episodes were funny, just that they tended not to be as good as a whole when you compared the separate seasons.
True as your comment may be, the earlier seasons were filled with direct pop culture references, but from the 80s and 90s. If you weren't around then, you're less likely to notice them as quickly.
Load More Replies...When I was five, my dad started to let me watch The Simpsons with him. My mom constantly nagged at him about it but that didn't make him reverse that decision and the jokes went over my head anyway. 25 years later and I've been watching The Simpsons every Sunday with my dad since. I don't care what anyone says. That show is still hilarious. I actually love it even more NOW because I am an adult and thus old enough to grasp the pop culture nods. Obviously, I can understand the older episodes but they're dated. During the major holidays and FXX runs those Every Simpons Ever marathons, the only older ones I watch are the Treehouse of Horror ones. *shrug* But I seem to be in the minority. I get that, though I still think The Simpsons are great.
