Designers Share How They Would Redesign Famous Brand Logos And Some Solutions Are Really Creative (25 Pics)
Top companies spend big bucks on their logo. After all, it's the visual representation of their character. An easily digestible display of their core values. In other words, a company's logo is its face. And you bet your wallet they want to look appealing.
So it's only natural when up-and-coming designers try to prove their worth by recreating famous logos. "These guys get paid millions of dollars but I can do it better for a fraction of that cost." The ultimate power move.
Take a look at some of these recreations we found on sites like dribbble and Behance. Upvote your favorites and let us know what you think about them in the comments! Enjoy.

I actually like the current one. At least it looks like a pin on a map. Unlike that G thingy
Load More Replies...Except neither of them really scream "maps" unless you're already familiar with the brand to begin with.
The marker on the lest does allude to maps, as it is the one to show your current location
Load More Replies...bro shut the actual f**k up u said that for literally every post
Load More Replies...No! Looses character and completely off brand! From a square to a dot? From blue to red? From a custom typeface to a generic one?
kid shut the f up, change ur ugly lookin pfp, and stay in school
Load More Replies...The original is outdated. This is a genuine upgrade. Actually expresses what the company actually does.
I can't be the only one that finds the old logo much more aesthetically pleasing...
The redesign is just a recolored version of Google Drive.
Load More Replies...Cleaner, but neither clearly define what the company actually does.
The redesign has pretty much the exact shape as Adobe logo. Not a good idea. Who would want to copy their competitors?
Why would someone want to look like cheeper version of waze? og-60957ce...33-png.jpg
Cute ghost. Looks a little like a thought balloon which is a plus. Also looks a little like a tape dispenser which is a minus. Not sure if I'd recognize it out of the context of the current ghost logo, though.
The problem with this one is that the new logo relies on a yellow background to portray the company colors. With the original, you could have the logo in black and yellow and show that on a white background (computer screen or a piece of paper) but the new one would have to be a yellow piece of paper or background unless you put a box around it.
no. the snapchat ghost/shrek wearing a ruffled collar is perfect
kid shut the f up, change ur ugly lookin pfp, and stay in school
Load More Replies...current one is a box, because everyone is boxed in by work. (joke not good, I'll see myself out)
I prefer the redesign, but I don't use linkedin so maybe that influenced my decision
Just awful. Sorry, this is one of those threads that just needs to be a reality check for the so called "designer". Anyone can rearrange letters and fonts and some cute add ons. But brands are called brands because it's pretty much branded on the company. To change it for the better, it needs to still follow the strenghts and add to it. That's not an easy task and many great designers fail at it because sometimes it's just impossible (but the company still insists).
I thought that the three black lines were imitating a sound wave, therefore the current one is more appropriate. Also, IMO, the ''S' in the redesign just doesn't look right.
Thk they r trying to make it look an 'S'. Kinda looks more like a 5 actually and a bit too on the nose. Prefer the old one.
How does the new one not make sense? Still reads as music streaming, but with an actual "s"
Not many 6 year-olds use cursive, and not many 18 year-olds, either, sadly. The second one looks to me like it was done by a girl who also uses a little heart or a smiley face instead of a dot over her 'i' .
Load More Replies...Is it just me or does the redesign look like the Chick-fil-A font?
The old one looks like it was written with a messy leaky pen, and the new one’s curlycues make it look like it says “lleetup” instead of “Meetup”.
kid shut the f up, change ur ugly lookin pfp, and stay in school
Load More Replies...I think the point was to incorporate "P" into the picture. I still like the current one better, but at least here the reasoning behind the redesign seems good, unlike a lot of others on this list.
Load More Replies...I like the current one. It looks like newsprint, which is kind of the whole point.
sans serif always or almost always looks better in logos in my opinion
Wordpress needs an update. Does the original look like a web hosting site? Looks like a typewriter.
THink I prefer the original one, the eleven is clearer than the redesign...
Disagree - it's a logo. Personally I feel the "11" is very obvious, but even if it isn't, it doesn't matter for a logo. Besides, there's enough brand recognition with the colors alone.
Load More Replies...The redesign totally obscures the paper airplane, making it unrecognizable.
Looks like a start up that spent more money on the web-design than the product
I like that the redesign is cleaner - if they could just make the G a little more obvious
Current is better. It's supposed to represent a lens...it would be better if they put three lenses...since that's kind of the trend now.
Good logos are timeless and not bound by random short trends.
Load More Replies...Enough with making every damn logo and icon circular, damnit! That is not "Redesigning" its just plain lazy.
kid shut the f up, change ur ugly lookin pfp, and stay in school
Load More Replies...The redesign erases the stars, ffs. Leave this one alone. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Do not like at all. The original NASA logo is iconic and still looks modern after all these years. History: The round red, white and blue insignia, nicknamed the "meatball," was designed by employee James Modarelli in 1959, NASA's second year. The design incorporates references to different aspects of the mission of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The round shape of the insignia represents a planet. The stars represent space. The red v-shaped wing represents aeronautics. The circular orbit around the agency's name represents space travel.
I like the old one. It shows more what they do and it’s a beautiful drawing.
Once again, the "redesign" is; Make everything a circle, and remove the details. Piss-poor IMO.
Or the Keymaster and Gatekeeper from the original Ghostbusters.
Load More Replies...Absolutely, doesn't bring the pose of the bull in mind. Also lopsided horns.
Load More Replies...The designer really like their circle to the left of the company name!
Redesign misses the purpose of the arrow. amazon ships everything from "A" to "Z". Redesign just looks like another smiley face.
The other one reminds me of a smile. The new one just looks to simple and I can’t really see it.
Well the point of the arrow is that they have products from a to z, and also looks more like a smile. So I would say no on all counts
So they basically did a kind of negative image and tweaked the graphic at the end. Real original. Not.
Adding the F to the swirl doesn't bring anything extra. If something makes it too literal, and therefore, poorer.
I don’t like the redesigns that take away all the detail in the originals. They just look lazy and untalented.
At least part of the reason that people buy Bentleys is to remind them of the hundred-year-old tradition and winning races with big powerful cars. The present company has no connection with the original Bentley designs except the badge, so dumping that effectively tells people there's no particular point in driving one.
Is "Bentley" the name of a dystopian galactic dictator? Seriously, it looks cool.
The current is famous for a reason; it is pleasing to the eye. The redesign doesn't even look like feathers, it looks like plastic strips.
i dont rlly like the new one, because the logo is pics art logo :/ pics-art-6...2efaba.png
No, leave it alone. The redesign doesn't convey the same message. Nice try; guys,
The current design looks like 1994 decided to live on forever...
Load More Replies...Nope, Current one has symbolic meaning for blue oval - representing Galaxy
Reminds me of the new GM logo... Went from instantly recognizable to "wtf is that?"
The point of the original is to look like the video start arrow, something totally lost in the redesign.
what? I've never seen a mix of a PS and a google logo... that's weird.
Load More Replies...Original! The redesign is too abstract-looking. Basically a red rectangle with some coloured droplets on the side.
No! I can’t even read the design. The old one is already simple. No need to oversimplify it more.
Don't. Touch. The IKEA logo. Sincerely, IKEA (and me). That font has a great subtlety that goes with the abbreviation that it is (and why it's all spelled in all caps). It's Ingvar Kamprad, Elmatryd, Agunnaryd. Respectively first and last name of the founder, the farm he lived and the name of the place where it stood.
This looks like the snout of a CliniClown. Clowns don't save children, they lure them into the sewers with balloons.
or a run-over pigeon, depending what angle you look. Or a bird just about to pick up an insect. But not tweeting, at all, which is what it's supposed to do.
Load More Replies...Isn't it supposed to look like a bird? This looks like something from Chernobyl
Why can't we just get a cute little fat bird like this? download-6...54d4d.jpeg
If you had the bird dropping the dot on the i - then it would be better.
Most of those just changed the font from something original to something completely generic. Meh.
Sucked out any little smidgen of soul that might have been in it :/
Load More Replies...All of the"redesigns" are terrible. Every single one of them, not one offers any improvement whatsoever.
I did professional graphic design for years and I can tell you that is takes a lot to design a logo. You have to design a small visual that in the few seconds someone looks at it, portrays your company's brand, style, personality, industry, etc. It also has to work across al media types including a computer screen and on paper as well as being reproduced in color and black and white. It's actually really hard. Especially when top executives think they know better just because they want to say that part of it was their idea.
terrible job! waste of your time. sorry, mate. don't quite your day job.
Anyone can redesign a logo, what matters though is understanding what the client actually wants, what their wider design principles are, how their brand influences their style and what elements they want to include or change in a redesign. It's never just what the designer can redesign where big brands are involved
