I live near Vancouver Canada and while fall can be beautiful in my parts of the world, here in the Pacific NW, it means either rain or just drizzle but almost always overcast grey skies. Starting Saturday evening with heavy rain, it finally ended today (Monday) around 2 PM. Yesterday, we had over 100 mm (over 4 inches) rain while some places had close to 150 mm (6 inches). After midnight, I can check to see what today's total is. As of now, there's been flooding throughout and innumerable roads and bridges washed out. Our region, the lower southwest of the province (BC) is cut off by road from the rest of Canada. Never before has there been such a major widespread disaster in our region.

This is Tilly. i was looking after her while her owner was in hospital. she loved sprinting around with that wild sense of freedom only dogs released from the leash can show. always just out of reach when i tried to get her to return...until i fell on my ass while going downhill and she came to me and never left my side till i was at the bottom.

Used to love to go to Cades Cove with my kids when they were younger. Their dad used to take us at least once a month. Unfortunately haven't been back to Cades Cove SInce Smokey Mountains were on fire in November 2016 destroyed part of Gatlinburg and now I live too far away but my kids will probably be going during winter break when they go to their dad's in TN

Apparently someone gutted the place right before I explored the house, but it's still empty a year later. Who ever that was gonna buy it realized it's gonna cost more to renovate it than what it's worth.. Still looks the same inside a yr later. It's been abandoned since at least Aug of 2017 when I first moved to upstate SC it may have been abandoned for even longer I don't know.
