Enola Reven’s Debut Album Expresses Struggles With Mental Illness In A Bizarre Blend Of Music
enola reven, a solo experimental electronic rock project and one-man band created by vocalist Himitsu, released it’s debut album- a bizarre blend of sounds and music styles that express struggles with various mental illnesses.
The title track, Disassociation Fugue, opens up the album with a chilling angst-filled piano ballad, leading into the somewhat psychedelic, aggressive ‘Anxiety’ and ‘fibromyalgia’, to settle into the sad but beautiful lullaby of ‘Depression’ before finishing up with the more metal-ish tracks ‘monster’ and ‘PTSD’. Spaced out between intermissions reminiscent of a JRPG background music, these songs will bring you on a journey through some very unpleasant mindsets…or perhaps help you through yours.
