I know a man that had trouble accepting his amputation until he adopt a 3 legs dog that also survived a crash. Maybe we're attracted to animals who look like us because it brings up our empathy, maybe it's just fun to look alike your pet, for some particularities, maybe we know that the pet will have less chances to get adoption.
