When a 33-year-old Ryan Jessen suddenly passed away from brain hemorrhage last month, hospital staff showed a very unexpected gesture. “The hospital did the sweetest thing for us and allowed us to bring my brother’s dog in to ‘say goodbye’ so she’d know why her human never came home. If you knew my brother, he really loved his sweet dog,” Ryan’s sister Michelle wrote on her Facebook page.
While the video capturing the tender moment between Ryan and his dog Molly was intended for the family circle, it got a response from all over the world. “We are sincerely touched and humbled by others’ stories, their sharing in our sadness and the kindness of so many people,” Michelle writes.
Ryan’s sister was quick to reassure that Molly the grieving dog is in good hands: “Don’t worry about the dog! We’re keeping her!!! She’s part of the family.” Michelle also added that Ryan’s donor heart is about to save the life of a 17-year-old, just in time for Christmas

Share on Facebookwhat have you done to me, this is heartbreaking. He seems to really know that his owner is dying, which is so sad
It doesn't seems like she knows. She knows for real.
Load More Replies...Bless those that helped to make this happen. I think since he loved his dog so very much, that he appreciated the gesture for Molly....i would want that for mine. Tears in my eyes:(
Just heart breaking. I love that they understood the dog would need that.
I am so happy to see that Molly got to see Ryan before the end. It's sooooooooooo sad . Pets do not understand so they would go wondering forever . I also firmly believe in a case like this or knowing the outcome was terminal , The hospital's Policy should be to allow your pet . Even if they have to supply a private room .After all it's the end of a human beings life.
I agree w you, but I do believe your pets know that you're ill. But, having a personal goodbye brings closure to everyone.

Animals know when a person is dying; they can smell something. Cats have been used for that purpose. This dog knew. What a kind hospital staff!
Can't. Stop. Sobbing. Poor Ryan. Poor Molly. Just...OMG this is so SAD. SO SAD. Look at the poor thing. She's obviously grieving. SO SAD :((((((((((((
This should be allowed to anyone that loves a pet, I know for me it would bring such comfort......just 'feeling my buddy' was there. Condolences for your loss.*
Made me cry so hard.... Tears of joy because they allowed her to say goodbye to her hooman but of sadness too b because he was so young.
The fact that this article is upvoted to the top, officially puts "Bored Panda" right next to "Examiner", "Daily Mail" and other trashy yellow press out there. No surprise, really, just mild disappointment.
What kind of articles were you expecting from a publication called "Bored Panda?"

One of 'the' saddest videos I have ever seen. The dignity of the parents and the gesture and all those wires. RIP.
His family just wanted to share their story with the world. There is nothing wrong with that.
