7 Motherless Kittens Found A Surrogate Dad In This Rescue Labrador Retriever Before They Found Their Forever Home

Who said that cats and dogs can’t get along? There are many cases which prove otherwise. Take, for example, this rescue Labrador retriever Bertie, a one-year-old dog: he rose to the occasion, selflessly raised 7 motherless kittens and greatly helped Rachel, head nurse of the Battersea animal rescue charity, to manage the situation. Rachel volunteered to take these 7 lovely kittens after they were found on the streets without their mother. Rachel soon found out that the situation was a little bit overwhelming, and who knows what would’ve happened if the dog didn’t look after them. Perhaps he was sympathetic to the situation, as he was a rescue himself? Or maybe he was just a good boy, as all dogs are? Have a read and decide for yourselves.

Bertie found some odd looking puppies and knew just what to do 😊 the simple pure world view of our loving cats and dogs and other pets is heartmelting

Such a good boy. If more kittens need fostering, we know who to look to for help.

That proves the animals' superiority to humans as well..a DOG has father instincts for a kitten, but a man fathers and leaves without remorse

It is fine and great for the kitten and nice Bertie. But PLEASE people get your cats sterilized. Too many cats are strays. Same for dogs. I love them too, believe me. I can't find people here who even want to adopt. Just common sense and less pain.

I wonder if they will mistakenly believe they are little puppies due to possible imprinting ?

My two cats were raised by a collie dog on a sheep farm. They run and sit like dogs. Unfortunately they don't understand how to drink. Dogs lap water backwards with their tongue, cats lap forwards.
