There are so many dog breeds, it's incredibly easy to mistake one pooch for another. Luckily, St. Louis-based artist Grace Gogarty (a.k.a. Little Tunny) has created a comprehensive comic series that will help you identify most of the dog types.

"I've been drawing comics since I was a kid," Grace told Bored Panda. "I absolutely love animals, so that's usually my focus! I worked as a supervisor at a doggy daycare for years and got to meet lots of dogs. The cartoon dogs featured in this guide are the breeds I met the most of."

The artist has divided the series into three parts - big, medium, and small dog breeds, so no k9s are left behind. Great Danes? Check. Border Collies, Yorkshire Terriers? Yep. Pugs, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherds? Yup. "Sadly, I haven't met every dog in the word yet so that I couldn't write about them all," Grace said. "Although I stereotype them, all dogs are wonderful individuals, so I couldn't possibly pick a favorite breed!"

Among the animals Gogarty owns, there's one pooch as well. "His Name is Huey, and he is an enigma. We have no idea what kind of breeds he's comprised of!" Scroll down to meet the dog memes, and remember - even if some traits sound better than others, every dog deserves a to be a pet. Even if it pees all over your new rug.

I always feel sorry for huskies who are adopted by lazy people. They should get a lazy dog or a goldfish.

Labs are great! They are smart, and loyal,....if you can keep them at home. They're Big-Time roamers. Unfortunately, they don't do all that well in the house. My black Lab, 'Captain Black' had a lethal tail, which was always sweeping back and forth. Unfortunately, he could clear a coffee table in a matter of just a few seconds. The Captain was the main reason why I happily switched from red wine to white wine. Oh, and the Captain sure could fart up a storm too. :D

2 Dobermans used to bark furiously at me every morning as I walked to school bus. One morning I spoke to them. Then on, our routine was they would wait for me eagerly every morning, and I would stop and talk to them. They were happy to see me.

My dog loves to play with the rottweiler mix down the street. He looks like a purebreed, like no sign of the dalmation or the mastiff in him. Everytime he sees our dog he jumps up and down like a little puppy.

The Yorkshire terrier will also show its affection by nipping your ankles. They have teeth sharp enough to draw blood at every nip. (Don't tell me that I should break them of that habit, please -- they're not my dogs but a friend's.)

Still miss ours. He was awesome. Never really had to train him and he listened perfectly. Would just walk near you and come when called. Kinda obsessed about bananas and would do anything for 1. (Stole a whole bunch of the table once... Silly dog) He hated water so when it was bath time, I would just get in the shower with him and close the door. He loved getting brushed and groomed though.

The border collie needs to have work to do or it will be neurotic. If you don't have time to spend training your dog, get something less intelligent. Sometimes a border collie will herd your kids to keep them from getting separated from you.

Tsundere lol that actually sums it up pretty well. Mine sometimes wants to be pet hard and long, but mostly she'll lay down somewhere close and love you from a distance - just don't touch her or she'll leave.

Just adopted an old man doxie with no teeth. Jef is right, he will eat rabbit poops, frozen bread in the yard for the birds, anything off the floor. He doesn't look to see what it is, he just gulps it down.

Have an old deaf/blind doxie, his routine is to troll the kitchen 3+ times a day, cleaning up every little crumb he can sniff out!

The most distinctive characteristic I've noticed about dachshunds is that they will not stop eating. They scavenge and hunt all the time, and will eat any nasty thing they come across. They need to be slender or their backs give out (it is VERY dangerous for them to be overweight), but they are hungry all the time. I feel sorry for them.

I have 3 dachshunds (they're like potato chips, can't have just one) and if it's raining they will NOT go outside. They'll look straight at you and pee on the rug if it's raining. "Whatcha gonna do about it, huh?" But if the weather's fine, they'll go in the back yard and dig tunnels into the next county.

I had a friend watch mine once when I was out of town. She went grocery shopping and carried in a load of stuff, sat it on the floor in the kitchen and then went back to her car to get more. Big mistake. Luckily she thought it was funny, but that dog opened every bag she could in 1 minute and ate like a little queen. Personality saved her butt many times.

We had a Mini Weenie named Sassy. She was the funniest, loudest, sweetest little thing. Barked at air and loved attention. She thought she was a "big dog" and would try to take on the Samoyed that lived next door. She was a master at honking our car horns and loved having "Sing-a-longs" with her best buddy, our Cockatiel Kemo. God, I miss that little dog.

Best dogs ever! We've owned 6, including one rescu, and one re-homed. I know that are prone to back injuries, and I've had 2 that have been treated with NSAIDS for back pain, but I've never had one go down in their back. Handle with care! When treated well they are the sweetest, most loving, and exuberant dogs!

There are a few other things.... like... will bark at everything..themselves,wind leaves and even if you don't have a lap or are in bed they will try and find a place to lay down on top of you...btw... small excitable bladders... need eternal access from their indoor (yes yours) dog house or you need to get exercise letting them out every 12-15 min....

Our 10 year old Dachshund eats almost everything on the floor... barks at a light flickering outside... but is loyal and a protector to a fault... never met a blanket he didn't like.

I once reached down to pet a mini dachshund, forgetting that they are longer than they are tall. Just as I reached, he stood up on his hind legs and swiped his tongue over my lips. I cannot begin to describe the odor-taste that filled my mouth. I ran to the bathroom, screaming like Lucy: Ugh! Dog germs!

My dachshund doesn't know how to bark. At all. He actually has a nice deep voice like that of a big dog but it's been months since I heard it. He does vacuum everything from the floor/ground though like a vacuum cleaner -___- And he's as stubborn as anything. Still a sweet long fella though:)

Loved Dachshunds. Barky, but sweet as anything. Get a mounting block or stairs and they can get on the highest bed.

My grandma had an insane dachshund when I was a kid. We were told not to pet him because he would start to run after his tail and make sounds like it was possessed by the devil. Just picture it...

You're thinking about akitas. Shibas (mostly) like petting. Akitas are like "no way, dude" as they slip just out of your reach. Not fan of strangers.

In my seventy plus years, I have always been a dog lover/owner. Big dogs, medium dogs, and small ones. But when I got my first shih-tzu I've never looked back since. They're very energetic, love kids, easy to hold, and the most expensive part to them is the grooming every 6-7 weeks. They don't eat a lot, and best of all, they don't leave big piles that need cleaning up. Oh, and they look like hairy little children, in need of affection. I love my CharlieK. Period!
