There are so many dog breeds, it's incredibly easy to mistake one pooch for another. Luckily, St. Louis-based artist Grace Gogarty (a.k.a. Little Tunny) has created a comprehensive comic series that will help you identify most of the dog types.

"I've been drawing comics since I was a kid," Grace told Bored Panda. "I absolutely love animals, so that's usually my focus! I worked as a supervisor at a doggy daycare for years and got to meet lots of dogs. The cartoon dogs featured in this guide are the breeds I met the most of."

The artist has divided the series into three parts - big, medium, and small dog breeds, so no k9s are left behind. Great Danes? Check. Border Collies, Yorkshire Terriers? Yep. Pugs, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherds? Yup. "Sadly, I haven't met every dog in the word yet so that I couldn't write about them all," Grace said. "Although I stereotype them, all dogs are wonderful individuals, so I couldn't possibly pick a favorite breed!"

Among the animals Gogarty owns, there's one pooch as well. "His Name is Huey, and he is an enigma. We have no idea what kind of breeds he's comprised of!" Scroll down to meet the dog memes, and remember - even if some traits sound better than others, every dog deserves a to be a pet. Even if it pees all over your new rug.

I always feel sorry for huskies who are adopted by lazy people. They should get a lazy dog or a goldfish.

Labs are great! They are smart, and loyal,....if you can keep them at home. They're Big-Time roamers. Unfortunately, they don't do all that well in the house. My black Lab, 'Captain Black' had a lethal tail, which was always sweeping back and forth. Unfortunately, he could clear a coffee table in a matter of just a few seconds. The Captain was the main reason why I happily switched from red wine to white wine. Oh, and the Captain sure could fart up a storm too. :D

2 Dobermans used to bark furiously at me every morning as I walked to school bus. One morning I spoke to them. Then on, our routine was they would wait for me eagerly every morning, and I would stop and talk to them. They were happy to see me.

My dog loves to play with the rottweiler mix down the street. He looks like a purebreed, like no sign of the dalmation or the mastiff in him. Everytime he sees our dog he jumps up and down like a little puppy.

The Yorkshire terrier will also show its affection by nipping your ankles. They have teeth sharp enough to draw blood at every nip. (Don't tell me that I should break them of that habit, please -- they're not my dogs but a friend's.)

Still miss ours. He was awesome. Never really had to train him and he listened perfectly. Would just walk near you and come when called. Kinda obsessed about bananas and would do anything for 1. (Stole a whole bunch of the table once... Silly dog) He hated water so when it was bath time, I would just get in the shower with him and close the door. He loved getting brushed and groomed though.

The border collie needs to have work to do or it will be neurotic. If you don't have time to spend training your dog, get something less intelligent. Sometimes a border collie will herd your kids to keep them from getting separated from you.

Tsundere lol that actually sums it up pretty well. Mine sometimes wants to be pet hard and long, but mostly she'll lay down somewhere close and love you from a distance - just don't touch her or she'll leave.

Just adopted an old man doxie with no teeth. Jef is right, he will eat rabbit poops, frozen bread in the yard for the birds, anything off the floor. He doesn't look to see what it is, he just gulps it down.

Difference between "rip your face off" and the exact opposite is socialization. Socialized chihuahuas are sweethearts. Unsocialized chihuahuas are more likely to bite you than any other breed.

This so much. I have an Akita, and she is an absolute sweetheart that won't ever get into a fight with another dog even if they go at her and at most will bark at people from a distance if she's afraid of them. Akitas are known for attacking both people and dogs out of nowhere without warning and I've seen some who have to go for walks with muzzles. It's all about getting them socialized and used to as many different dogs and people as you can.

Not all are like that, I have 2 and they are very sweat, of course being so smal they have to protect them selves and “warn the enemies” by barking.

Exactly. People behave aggressively toward little dogs without knowing it, doing things they would never do to a larger dog. They pick them up without warning, lean over them (dogs in general find this intimidating, but imagine if the Sears Tower leaned over you...it would be terrifying! Always sit down on the ground or squat down to the dog's level if you want to interact with them. Bending forward is very scary from underneath.) The other reason small dogs get a bad rap is because people ignore or simply don't understand the ways dogs tell us they are uncomfortable or afraid. In order of increasing fear: yawning, licking their lips, flattening their ears, looking at you sideways, and of course growling (which is often missed with little dogs because it can be quiet or is more high-pitched than many people think a growl will be) are all signs that the dog is afraid. Chihuahuas are wonderful dogs, we just need to pay attention to what they are telling us, not just what we tell then.

My Chihuahua will bark his head off the minute ANYONE walks through the door...even US but the minute anyone picks him up he is all nervous love

These dogs are not for me. Way too neurotic which is a shame but I really don't like it when they shake and tremble all the time. It seems like they are thinking you are going to hurt them or something.

They KNOW they are too small to defend themselves so they are scared of every other dog and every person but their protector.

Wild card is correct. We have a long haired chi and he LOVES humans, all humans, but he will growl and attack our other dogs for looking at him. We took him to obedience school when he was a pup and the trainer's words were, "He's a Chihuahua and will only do what he wants to do." That about sums it up. Oh, and he marks everything! I had to take down all of my curtains because he thinks they are his personal bathroom.

Low maintenance. You will know where you stand with her . She is sweet and loving if you are considered a friend and will ignore you and you get a cold shoulder when she doesn't like you.

How about Chihuahua: perfect angel, sent to Earth to solve the problem of evil so that when some would-be philosopher says, "Hey, God, if you're all good and all knowing and all powerful, how come there's evil?" God can say, "Yeah, but I made Chihuahuas, so it all averages out to the good. Problem solved."

My sister pointed out to me once, that if chihuahuas were the size of a labrador, they'd be a banned breed by now.

In my seventy plus years, I have always been a dog lover/owner. Big dogs, medium dogs, and small ones. But when I got my first shih-tzu I've never looked back since. They're very energetic, love kids, easy to hold, and the most expensive part to them is the grooming every 6-7 weeks. They don't eat a lot, and best of all, they don't leave big piles that need cleaning up. Oh, and they look like hairy little children, in need of affection. I love my CharlieK. Period!
