Labradors and Golden Retrievers are the most popular dogs in so many countries across the world, and it’s easy to see why. They are loads of fun, people-oriented, obedient yet curious and have a sharp intelligence that still shines through beneath their hilariously goofy nature.
Originating in Newfoundland, where they were first bred to help fishermen and hunters retrieve their nets and catch, Labradors are now commonly used as guide dogs and comfort animals for the disabled. Golden Retrievers are very similar to Labs, with slight differences between British, American, and Canadian types. They are all high-energy dogs, so they need plenty of exercise! They do love a cuddle as well though, and are always eager to please their humans. That's why we love them so much!

It's actually a training tip. Train a young dog who is excited to see visitors by putting a toy in their mouth. Instead of jumping on visitors to greet them, they will learn to bring them a toy as a welcoming gift to show they're happy to see you. Very good with big dogs so they don't risk to hurt anyone by enthusiastically jumping on themto say hi :)

All of my daughter's retrievers did the same. So have most of the other retriever sweeties that I have met. They'll grab anything because they are....well....retrievers!

Same here. My dogs collects magnets from the fridge and brings them to whoever shows up at the front door. Few of the magnets are still alive :D

My Golden, Tasha always did this. She also waited until you took your shoes to put them away. they are happiness incarnated.

You wouldn't realize by the much higher % of Golden retriever photos that Labs are by far the more popular breed.
