30 Times People Found Out Their Parents Were Cooler Than Them And Shared These Pics As Proof
There probably was a time when you thought your parents weren’t cool. That’s quite normal for teens who care about their reputation and status among their peers. You know how parents can be sometimes.
However, interestingly enough, there will come a time when you’ll look at your parents and think “huh, they certainly are cool,” despite them being at that very same, or very similar age in their lives that you were when you thought they weren’t all that cool.
Well, people on Twitter have been doing just that—being in awe at how cool their parents actually were back in their youth (or young adulthood) and sharing pictures.

I'm Jewish and my mom didn't want me to go to prom in the 90's with a black guy. Godspeed!
You do know that they are Africans Jews - both in the west and north. They had 2 Holocaust and several rescues from Africa funded by American Jews and the Israeli government. All black, all 100% Jews

Maybe she had a bad back or farted or was getting ready to sneeze. Literally these are someone's parents so obviously they liked being close at least once and just because they don't show it for the camera doesn't mean you're right. You're Karening too hard here. Your judgemental comment makes me really angry. Go better yourself.
Load More Replies...I am so sorry. She must have had some amazing stories. Right there witnessing music history. Being a part of music history. What a beautiful smile. I am so sorry. Your family must miss her so much.
She is so beautiful. Look at that smile! You can feel the kindness through the photo.
Lovely and the coolest. So sorry for your loss. May her memory be a blessing.
old age? this pic is late 50's/60's & they were in their 20's. That's a good life!
Load More Replies...Looks like a decent man. It is nice to see the parents when them were young.
Not too long ago, writer Adam Serwer tweeted a picture of his parents from the early 1960s. In the picture, the two are seemingly in a restaurant or bar of some sort, having some drinks and socializing.
And now that Adam is all grown up, he felt forced to admit that his parents were actually cooler than him. Around 19,000 people seemingly agreed that they are indeed cool by leaving a like under the photo.
Others started sharing pictures of their own parents and other relatives being cool, artsy, photogenic, what have you, from when they were young back in the ‘50s through to the ‘80s.
I know fashions change, but there was something inherently classy about the outfits of that era.
Load More Replies...Fashions were so much more flattering then, and this looks SO classy.
It's a boina. Idk its name in english, it's a traditional spanish hat
Load More Replies...My heart hurts for you. Looking back at pictures can bring back such wonderful memories. I'm glad you did get to say goodbye.
Very sorry to read this. I am now 54 and lost mine 13 years ago. But since that day I often dream of him. Nothing spectacular, we are just doing what we did since early childhood until he left, a walk and talking about everything. When I wake up I feel very good.
Can't help but notice how many pictures show people holding cigarettes.
Almost everyone smoked back in the day. They used to even consider it healthy.
Load More Replies...Those are wonderful pictures. Time really is so fleeting. We all need to do more to live in the here and now.
That is totally bad ass! Is that an old baseball card or a picture? Is that the same Bug Holliday from this Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bug_Holliday ?
Off topic from your post, but one of my brothers is a huge Pink Floyd fan.
Load More Replies...I just looked him up. He was good!! In the World Series repeatedly. NL home run leader. Pretty good batting average and a ton of RBIs. I bet he could tell some stories for sure 😃 I really hope you find his card 😁
the older sister is on the right, and the one you described sounds like the one on the left, who is the younger sister.

Load More Replies...I had a schoolgirl crush on a man who looks like a poor imitation of your very, very foxy father!
Great photo, but why are there two hands coming out of your Grampy's sleeve ?
Lol I think he's holding a tan paper in his right hand
Load More Replies...From the tiger's perspective. So....I'm just laying there mindin' my own business...
Load More Replies...I thought I was the only one! I am glad to know there is a community of tiger pee survivors after suffering alone in silence for so many years!
Please, tell all--in the form of a Haiku if necessary
Load More Replies...One of the zoos near me has a warning by the tiger exhibit that they may urinate on you.
More weddings should be like this. A genuinely happy couple with less fuss.
Yes, looks like my parents' 1950s wedding. Although she wore a tea-length bridal gown. Till death did them part.
Load More Replies...Was he in the home guard? That's pretty cool by itself but to be meeting Monty too.
Love that her dress and veil are blue. It was an "in thing" to have different colored wedding dresses.
Probably a bridesmaid. My parents married in 1968 and the maids had veils that matched their dresses.
Load More Replies...I'm pretty sure I just realised those are two different people.
Load More Replies...He looks a bit like David Thewlis (guy who played Lupin in the HP movies)
You can tell by his smile that she was the girl every guy wanted! Cat that got the cream
Definitely a big age difference. My parents were 12 years apart.
Load More Replies.....and they weren't using filters, photoshop, doing the Pooch Face while looking down cleavage or showing off their asses. It was genuine - real smiles, real faces, real photographers practicing craft that took talent and care. The Good Old Days. You could feel the whole mood and personality of the people. Now you look in the corners to find the wavy-lines mistakes of editing or the "I cry BS" techniques.
With all the hairspray she’s got on, dude better watch that she doesn’t just spontaneously combust!
Load More Replies...I don't really like sharing personal pictures, but if I didn't have that anxiety, I would have shared an image I have of my great grandmother in her youth (around the 1930's), all dressed up in her ballet wear and looking like a real classic beauty. I never got to meet her, unfortunately.
Can I just say that the fashion of the 40s-early 60s was so awesome?! Sometime I think I was born like 50 years too late.
It only looks that way because years ago everyone dressed up to leave the house. Now we are too addicted to comfort, nice clothes are really not that comfortable and we couldn't wait to get home and change.
I don't really see h the cooler factor here, but I was born in the late 60s. Maybe seeing photos like this my whole life is the difference? Not sure. I also always liked fashion and old movies.
I knew my dad was way cooler than I could ever aspire to be by the time I was 8. He drag raced pretty much from 18-30 and even won a lower-level stock championship by 19. Absolutely gutted me when he threw his trophies away.
My parents were super good looking in all their old photos, so I’m not sure what happened with me. XD
For the most part, these were regular people doing everyday things. Nothing badass about that.
In a time before digital cameras when you'd take the picture and not see if it turned out until you got the photos back from having the film developed. Which would take about a week. I don't know if I could revert to that method nowadays. I remember when 1hr photo came out and it was very exciting! My first digital camera was just as exciting. It now is packed away somewhere and hasn't been used in 10 years thanks to cellphone cameras.
And then there was the Polaroid camera where when you took the picture it spit out of the bottom of the camera and watched it develope. And black and white photos are cool because that is how things were. It is a true reflection of the past. To you its not cool, but to them it sure was.
