She determined that the single man that lived next door was gay. Why? He did all of his own housework. We all looked that confused look. Straight guys do housework. No, he needs to find a woman to do his housework. We just had to walk away from one.
My sister is the WORST Housekeeper I have ever seen! On the other hand, my 3 brothers who served in our Armed Forces are the neatest and well-organized people I know!
Bored Panda reached out to Lainey again to get to know more about her creative process. We asked her where she gets inspiration and motivation for her work. The artist replied that besides getting inspired by her own experience as a woman, she also follows a variety of content creators from psychologists, spiritual pages, body-positive influencers, mom influencers, and other inspiring people to "understand more about matters thousands or even millions of women go through."
Yep...My wife was going somewhere (can't remember, its been awhile.) Anyway, she was putting on makeup and doing her hair and such, and I ask her why. She said that since she has been working from home, she kinda misses getting "made up" ( not that she needs it. I think shes fine in sweats and her hair rolled in a bun) and it makes feel good...she was doing it for herself and not anyone else. I just always thought it was a chore that she would rather not deal with.
Why is it so hard to admit that sometimes women want to look good for a man when all those things you do "just for your self" just happens to attract the opposite sex?
Because most people arent actually dressing to look "attractive" to other people. Also lesbians and aromantic people exist
Load More Replies...As a man, I dress for my women. It's actually depressing, to know that it's not other way around...
It depends on the person, but the main reason for dressing the way you do should never be for how someone else sees you
Load More Replies...It's sad that locational safety has to be a factor, but that's the messed up world we live in.
I dress for practicality, cold wear loose warm clothes in layers. Hot, wear less and loose clothes for cool. I wear what I like and feel comfortable and ready for my own lifestyle. I as a woman, I also don't like wearing super tight and revealing clothing. To me it makes me an object and doesn't let me be myself. I don't like men constantly staring down my shirt. Who said women need long hair and thair butt and boobs all perked and out? I wont and havent since i was a teen. I am aTom boy! Always have been always will be. The only man who gets to see me in revealing clothes is my fiancé.
normalize having a roll or two! even if you work out for 5 hours daily, eat only healthy food, and wake up at 4 am to punch the sun, you're not gonna have a completely flat belly. NORMALIZE THAT. IT IS NORMAL.
I don't mean this negatively but minus the baby belly aren't the rest just the same normal and natural bellies is there really a distinction or is that the point that there shouldn't be? I do apologise if asking this causes anyone to get upset I genuinely am curious and am happy to take this comment off if anyone desires me to much love to these natural human bodies.
No, no harm. That was the point, just saying that it doesn't matter what reason you may have a belly it doesn't matter, they're normal and perfectly fine
Load More Replies...I want to shove it into my father's face and yell NO COMMENTARY CAN YOU SEE THAT
I know a girl who is a bikini model in her spare time. She has an incredibly flat belly. I asked her how she does it. No gym & she lives on pizza & soda. She's a nice girl so don't hate on her too much.
Since the majority of Lainey's illustrations are about women, we got curious whether she receives some feedback from men that are following her on social media. The artist replied that only 5% of her audience is men and she has experienced two kinds of interactions with them on different ends of a spectrum. "Some men are really warm and kind and express their support and understanding, ask about what they can do better, or tell me that they are having conversations about the topics I bring up with their families or friends. On the other hand, unfortunately, the majority of comments and messages from men are deeply misogynistic or they are trying to force aggressive arguments. Nothing I engage in, we are clearly not on the same page."
Ur still beautiful in the last pic too gurly :D.. but i see ur point
I don’t see any problems with any of these three. They’re all amazing. There’s nothing wrong with a natural face/body and wearing comfortable clothes!
NOTHING WRONG WITH WEARING BLACK OR HAVING ACNE AND BAGS UNDER EYES.
What is this, rock/goth shaming? So having tattoos, wearing black and not spending 2 hours on hair and makeup is epitome of being ugly?
Shave off the hair and add 100 pounds, and that's me on the right. No exaggeration.
Not a gender thing, the difference is the direction of social power flow, and assumed influence of the individuals between the parties.
Lainey revealed that she receives countless requests from teachers from all over the world to get permission to print out her illustrations for their classrooms, which shows that this medium seems to express a message very well.
And some women personally prefer to shave everything and that's okay ✌
Load More Replies...I don't think I'll ever understand why women are required to hide their nipples but men aren't
Personally I don't like arm hair on either gender. Just another reason to be ace 🙃
Nipples need to either an offence or acceptable for both men and women. Its dumb to demonize them for one and not the other. As for hair... Hair is hair. It doesnt really matter all that much to be real honest.
You can show his but not her nipples … (non-sexually intended)
I know it's pretty common knowledge now that women started shaving because Gillette convinced them to do it to sell more razors. The irony is they sold them on it by claiming European women were already doing it. And then French women became the butt of jokes in the US because they DIDN'T shave their armpits.
IKR THIS IS JUST ME AT THE MOMENT JUST AA 14 Y/O GOWRL JUST BEING SAD AND BORED BUT NOT WANTING ANY ATTENTION LIKE BRO WHY IS LIFE SO COMPLICATED
Load More Replies...I'm 40 and it's really isolated at times. Kids are grown and I am not married. Sometimes I get tired of doing things alone. My best friend is my dog and while she is the absolute best, It would be nice to have human friends at this age. But it's incredibly difficult to make new friends after mid 30s.
Hear me out, fellow introverts: join a club for something you enjoy. Even if it's just online. If you're lonely interaction is out there. Sure, @ssholes are too, but that's true for everything. And if you're perfectly happy on your own 98% of the time that's perfectly ok too.
Yeah time becomes quite a valuable currency, treasure it, for we don't know how much of it we will get in our lifetimes.
I'm married and relate to this. I honestly never felt more alone being single than I do being married.
As long as this is what you enjoy, everything is good. If you actually feel lonely and sad because of this, then find things, that you enjoy. Hobbies, where you meet new people etc.
Yes, I'm a nomad I haven't lived in the same city for very long and once I do make friends there, I seem to move on. I've been in limbo since June, not sure where I want to go in January. I'm still debating between going to a city with friends or going to a new city and maybe staying there for a few months and then make a decision if I want to stay there or go to a city with friends. But their still my friends. I'm just 3-10 hours away most of the time. Maybe one day I'll settle down in the big city and fall into a normal/socical accepted rhythm of life
The artist shared that if all goes well, she's going to start writing her book very soon! "Besides being an illustrator and content creator I’m also an author (my first book came out in my native Hungarian in 2014) and it’s time to share my story along with drawings and the wisdom I picked up about womanhood over the years!"
I honestly don’t get why people got so upset over Ariel’s casting. The only part of her racial identity that has significance in the story is the fact that she’s a mermaid. I guess it could be a nostalgia thing but honestly you’d be better off sticking to the original in that case.
I don't know how to feel about this. It is fantastic that Disney represents different ethnicities in its films. But we should have new black Disney characters introduced, not just grab any white Disney character and make them black.
Load More Replies...Ariel's being white is not important to the plot or storyline of either movie, her skin colour should not make a difference.
Exactly...she's a fish lady. As long as she's still half fish and half lady everything checks out.
Load More Replies...Do I prefer my childhood heroes to look the same? Yes, just like I hate the animation look. Can I ignore the tiny issue for me for solving a bigger issue? YES
As an old school Little Mermaid fan the only thing I was "worried" about was whether or not she kept the sidhe red hair and can sing. All my boxes are checked, looking hopefully towards this live action remake. The others haven't blown me away, but I reserve the possibility of being impressed. It could happen.
I'm so triggered here. This is wrong, wrong, WRONG. There should not be KNEES in a fish tail!
I don't understand why people made about something that's fiction. I would been mad if they not being historical accurate. But Its a made up tale of a mermaid.
Even if it was a white girl playing Ariel, it would still be different than the original. That's kind of how remakes work.
As a blk woman MY representation always seem to look like ppl on the right. I love HER! But, I am so thankful for the character on the left. I'm thankful that countless blk girls have what I didn't. Why can't folks just be happy for "US"?
The secret is to just run from these people. Edit just to clarify that I don’t condone this in any way, just saying that it seems like it could very easily become dangerous here. Secondary edit: By not condoning this I was referring to the dude's behaviour
"This is a basket of snakes. Only some are venomous (not all snakes are killers). Would you like to hold one?"
purity culture is so weird, creepy, and filled with unfairness and double standards. you haven't had s3x? then you're a little angel who is dripping with innocence and a lot of men will be like "mm yeah". you have? then you're a sl*t, a succubus who deserves to die-but if a you deny someone s3x, then you're a prude. you've been assaulted? then you were "asking for it". when will anyone be satisfied? (typically this happens w/women, but it can happen to men, just less frequently.)
How did so many men grow up to think they’re entitled to any woman’s body? Needs? You have two hands, honey.
Correction, they will call you the first insult when you say no too.
Humans who think like that guy are trash. Dont hold on to trash. Throw it away.
Yeah in this scenario it's a lose lose, as stated it's better to excuse yourself and not interact with this individual.
The individual represents society tho, and you can't just remove yourself from society. This needs to be fixed.
Load More Replies...I used to think there weren't many men who thought like this, because I couldn't imagine thinking like this. But after a few decades of working with women I'm no longer surprised when a friend is angry and scared after a man who seems great from my perspective suddenly exhibits this very behavior. F**king neanderthals
“i’M a MAN, i HaVe NeEDs” Dude, shut your beak I’m referring to the man in the comic by the way
where does this leave mom's and wives? is their value gone because they aren't virgins?

Load More Replies...It can be so much cooler to travel alone, especially when exploring a city!
The one about fear is true, I got over my fear of being rejected and now my one year dating anniversary is coming up!
Lol I'm a tiny a*s female no way would I ever travel alone to another country let alone a hotel in the same state for more than a single night.
That's...kinda sad? Don't live your life being afraid. I'm also a woman and have gone on several trips alone. Just take common sense precautions. I would never want to base my traveling around whether someone else had the time/money/desire to go.
Load More Replies...Yes, absolutely. Do keep your wits about you if you're solo travelling though.
Now at 42 I wear all the dresses I wouldn't have before. And I feel fabulous, better than ever!
I'm 40 now and I'll wear whatever the hell I feel like putting on, thank you very much. Today that's an enormous toasty warm reindeer onesie that my cats love because it's slightly furry. Yes, I have left my house "like this", no I don't care. Gonna lay on my bed for a bit with the cattos and live my best snug life now.
I don’t even care if I’m wearing the craziest outfit. It’s my outfit. Mine.
Lol I’m 41 and I have those cherry earrings! I’ve never felt cuter than I do now :)
They are great! I own several. They match my cherry dress and cherry socks and cherry cardigan and...Well, I like cherries
Load More Replies...I feel like it's like this: after 30, you value your own opinion and comfort much more than other people's opinions. Or maybe I'm just lucky...
I am starting to wear clothes in the style I want and it only took 38 years.
The thing I find messed up is, 100 years ago we were fighting for the right for women to be allowed to wear trousers, and now we’re fighting for a 14-year-old girl to not get bullied for wearing a bright pink skirt. Society’s really f**ked up 😔
Why are we taught to not go out alone, or put your keys between your knuckles like a B rated Wolverine, etc etc....yet there is little discussion about consent?!
i heard of these gloves that woman used to wear that had spikes on the tips, we should bring them back

It does not even matter now. People that love you - love you anyway. People that don't know you don't care. Let haters hate -you don't love the haters, right? So you shouldn't care eighter.

or Whatever you want to do. Or whatever you can do. Or whatever gets you the life you want.
Load More Replies...I'm so tired of our countries need to shame sex workers. Make it legal, make it safe!
I think a lot of the problem here is that we have created a situation where sex work is most often done by exploited people (not that other people aren't exploited, but it's not the industry standard) and the people doing that exploiting have motivation to make sure the work remains seen as shameful and fringe so they can keep the workers and the customers from having power and it also plays right into the pseudo-religious forgiveness industry to maintain guilt. Beyond that, sex work tends to make the workers vulnerable to violence even when not marginalized because the work is, by nature, personal and intimate, and something that is itself violence if not consensual (and it genuinely can be hard for a third party to sort out consent even with the best intentions and great wisdom. Having said all that, we have great evidence that destigmatizing, legalizing, and regulating sex work makes it safer and logically, with modern medicine, there is no reason to shame sexually active people.
Just TRY showing that third gal any disrespect…she KNOWS where that whip goes!
Us female athletes will NEVER be taken seriously. We're the Jr. Team to the pro team of men. Bet you men we could take you in any sport!
Because some professions and indoors are i inherently not respectable and harm society by simply existing. This is a bigger issue than just sex workers, the porn industry as a whole is bad for society.
Ok this is gonna get a lot of downvotes. Sex workers are oftentimes forced into the job, or raped in the process
I've been trying to as well but my mom thinks that because I'm a teenager (child in her eyes) I'm not allowed to say no or have boundaries. It's especially difficult with school because I'm required by law to go.

Load More Replies...This is actually a good valid point, boundaries by men and women need to be set early on, within and outside of a relationship on a daily basis. As such they need to be respected.
No, why are all your comments so mean? Like give at least some respect, you're getting banned from all those downvotes
Load More Replies...Same for masculinity! I’m a trans guy who likes wearing dresses and skirts sometimes and that makes me no less of a guy. It just makes me one who has a slightly more feminine gender expression.
There are men who look downright gorgeous in skirts or dresses. Women have fought for wearing "men wear" a.k.a trousers. It's time men fight for the acceptance for wearing "women wear". Clothes have no gender. Edit: Men should wear skirts/dresses when they want to, not when it looks good, of course. That first sentence was just an observation that I made over the years. Perhaps the gorgeousness came from the *selfsureness* (sorry, don't know the right word in English) they had
Load More Replies...I somewhat disagree. Femininity and masculinity are two different ways of presenting (though it should be noted that one can present as both), people can be masc/fem no matter their gender and it doesn't make their gender any less valid. These are simply descriptors! Although, they are defined by dated societal norms, and it feels a little unproductive to put everyone's style under labeled boxes.
Why's there even a need for femininity or a difference between what is and what is not in the first place? Both of them are women and look great in their preferred style, that's all what should matter.
I don't know dear, but when I was growing up it seemed to me that femininity was a limitation arbitrarily imposed to stop me doing or wearing things, with no actual logic behind it. Half a century later I see no reason to change that definition. On the contrary I expand it to include masculinity.
Load More Replies...People are as diverse as grains of sand are many I wish we could just let people be!
Clothes are clothes, anyone should be able to wear whatever they like without any judgement.
Nah, that's not what other people are doing. It's what they are posting on social media. Those smiles? Airbrushed. Those perfectly toned legs? Photoshopped. So please, please don't feel bad about feeling "uglier" or "less worthy" than models and influencers. They live the same lives as us.
Working vs staying at home? Not always. Only if the partner doesn't mind and you can afford it. Knew a couple who had no cent. We helped em, cause their 3 y o kid ate peanuts from hunger and they had no central heating. Then I got a baby and everyone asked her: why don't you get a job? No she had chosen to be a housewife. Well good luck. I didn't help her anymore.
Staying at home doesn’t mean you’re not working. Even a stay at home mom works, often more than someone who works outside of the home.
yeah, ik it looks weird but it is easy to hold them that way. (I had a baby brother- he grown up a little bit tho)
Load More Replies...GENDER of sexual / life partner. If you are a woman who likes women, that is perfectly okay with me. If you are a guy who likes guys, that is perfectly okay with me. And if you like both, that's also okay with me. And, guys, just because I comment on how nice a woman looks, doesn't mean I "like girls". It means I'm not blind and I can appreciate when someone -- anyone -- looks nice. And I'll probably go and compliment them, too! Deal with it.
Yes! Especially the children one we are NOT incubators for our parents or anyone else!!!
Number of s*xual partners? So you have a right to F around with everyone and want to be treated like a decent woman? HELL NO! My number is 2 and I married both of them. Take a note that women's and men's s*xual life depend on woman's decision. So don't you dare blaming men.
I was with you until you said "women's and men's sexual life depend on women's decision." You cannot put your own choices onto the opposite sex whether male or female. You don't want women to blame men, yet you put all the responsibility on women for the man's choice... that's hypocritical. Only you are responsible for your own behaviors!

Load More Replies...Random fun fact I learned from youtube, the little ridge that some people have is called a dorsal bump, which I think is awesome because it makes me think of dolphins, and who doesn't love dolphins?
firstly, I thought I have to check something in the eyes (seems the eyes as an arrow on the top 2 pics) - only I got it when I look at the 3rd pics.
Bottom left describes my nose. When I was younger, I used to get teased by some people about it. I was so self-conscious about it that I would not let people see me from the side if I could help it. As I got older I stopped caring. Now as I see it as being unique. As for people expecting pearly white teeth, that bothers me. I've never had white teeth and I've been drinking a lot of coffee lately, so that just exacerbates the problem. I've even had a couple rude people over the years ask me why my teeth are yellow. They're not yellow, per se, they're just not the fake white you see on TV or in magazines. Because of those people, I don't smile very much anymore. It's ingrained in my head.
Can someone remove this Sarah Elizabeth and her/his.\/their blatant scam promotion? (I reported it twice already)
One can only be truly happy by being happy on his/her own. The partner is only complimentary, not provider of happiness
Or you can be alone, that doesn't make you any less worthy to have a happy relationship with other people.
I have this issue. I tend to need more personal space than what folks are willing to give me.... I tell them this up front, before we even get into it, and months later it's like their LIVES ARE OVER simply because I don't want to spend 34/7 with them. Makes me wonder if they were even listening at the start, or did they just agree because they thought I would change?

That man has mental problems. Too much money and fame and no damn sense. And it's "defcon", dumbass.
He does have mental problems. He’s also a Nazi. A Nazi with mental problems. To just say “he has mental problems” is an insult to mentally unstable people everywhere. He’s a Nazi and always has been; his mental illness has just removed the barriers that kept him from bragging about it.

Who the hell has time or the desire to watch a TV show at least 15 times? I could understand if it was a movie, if you’ve watched it yearly since childhood or something. — I would think that panel was just an exaggeration, but the other 3 panels are pretty spot on.
i have all of those (except the self help books, i steal my moms) and im only 14
I read that orange book, my friend got me to, I didn't finnish it though.
I’m 37 and I don’t have any of these. I don’t need help going to sleep. I repeat binge the same shows but not FIFTEEN times. I don’t have three unfinished self help books and I like heels more than comfortable shoes.

Load More Replies...Somewhat realistic, but there's nothing stopping you from getting tips from the people doing better. You know that is if they are a decent person to be around.
Nah. Don't compare yourself in the first place. Success is relative.
Nah. It’s not good to be unable to bond with someone because they’re “better at” your shared interests. The lady here lost a great opportunity for inspiration, growth, and self-improvement. In the end, she’s just acting from a place of deep insecurity, and instead of addressing her insecurities she’s found a person that she perceives as less threatening to her ego to be her “tribe”. Probably wouldn’t make the friend/tribe person feel too awesome if she learned of her new “friend”’s motives.
Its pride that tells us to "step down" so we compare better... If you feel like you are comparing poorly, set a goal, make a change, learn a skill and ask people who are a little ahead for their valuable wisdom. that humility will take you father than "sitting steady with your tribe". Build your tribe out of people who cheer eachother on.
Its a pride cycle that tells us to surround ourselves with people exactly like us so we dont "compare" poorly. If you compare poorly, set a goal and make a change, learn a skill etc. value the step your on and ask those ahead of you for valuable wisdom. that humility will get you farther that "sitting steady" with your tribe.

Ok, serious question. I ask because I don't know. In the top right panel, they are shaving with underwear on and there's an advertisement that shows the same. Is that an actual practice or just for the ad? I'm guessing just for the ad, but I don't know everything.
It can be an actual practice if you only do it to look good in a bikini for the swimming pool.

Noooo!! Don’t do it Sedona! Seeing yourself in the little window while looking at all those other girls who have the “perfect “ face is the worst way to see YOURSELF. See yourself when you’re laughing or crying and see how beautiful it is that you can laugh and cry. Look at your face when you’re happy and smiling and look at it when you’re sad. It’s YOUR face it’s for YOU. Not for anyone else to cut up or judge. You’re beautiful!!
It is not a scar, it is a cleft lip which happens during fetal development.

I don't know of this was intentional, but thank you for including (what I assume to be) a Orthodox Jewish woman, because as a Orthodox Jewish female/feminist, it always bugs me that never do they show a lady in a tichel when we talk about girl power, so thank you for making me feel included :) your posts are so true and awesome!!!!!!!!!
Ahh... Lelo... the sex toys that, with one look you know... maaaybe you don't need the Rolls-Royce of vibrators... (seriously. Crazy. Craaaazy overpriced).
We (hubby helped, he loves our sex life) got my bbbbzzzzzz off a big brand name store here in the USA. Super cheap but has lasted and it's rechargeable so no worries over batteries or acid burn from them.
Load More Replies...Ok, honest question..is the woman in the middle "talking" about a bedroom toy?
Vibrators, yes, go for it, but I do not feel comfortable with my partner discussing my size or our sexual life with strangers. Especially because I always know when they did. I hate those meaningful looks and laughs when they see me.
What a weird conversation. They're trying to talk about fruits and vegetables and the bi*ch keeps talking about how she's masturbating. What the hell.
Shame is also a valuable too. You should have a healthy relationship with both shame and pleasure
Are you saying they should be ashamed of themselves, or and I misinterpreting you?
Load More Replies...I'm fine with the rest, but don't over pluck your brows, kids! You can get new jeans, wash off the glitter, and pretend the dumb hairstyles didn't happen. But your pencil thin eyebrows will be with you forever.
I use my barely-there eyebrows as a reference for my girls to make sure they don't over pluck.
I'm just waiting for the Elizabethen fashoin trend of having no eyebrows is back in.
As a female, no it doesn't. WE ALL just need to remember that it isn't realistic. I don't need porn to be politically correct.
As long as everyone participating in the porn consented to being there and they are all legal adults it's fine. Everyone has their fetishes and preferences and that's none of my business.
Load More Replies...Yes. Just because I don't like "Porn Type A" doesn't mean I can censor it and restrict other people from enjoying it. As long as we all remember it's fiction, like 2picklesinabun said, it's all good.

I freaking love all the diversity in these comics. Absolutely amazing
Genuinely curious, but are there any comics like this for men? I tried looking it up, but didn't find any. All that showed up in google was superhero stuff, or politics
These are all so amazingly cathartic to read . We all need these affirmations.
I dont like how the focus is made on male vs female. I agree there's statistics relevance for it, but it take aways the core of the problem and focus it on gender rater than the problem. For exemple "harassment is not tolerable and should not be shameful for the harassed person" is really different from the statement "women harassment is not tolerable and should..." both are true, but one put the problem on gender and not behavior!
Gosh yes. All those smiling female faces just *scream* bitterness.
