Society puts pressure on everyone: most are expected to be someone, do something and whatever else. But that does not mean that those expectations are valid, or if the pressure is really necessary. Who knows, perhaps we're forced to chase after goals that don't really reflect our true self, or even worse, we can lose our true selves whilst chasing them.

If that's the case, perhaps we need to do the opposite It's very important to continually deprogram ourselves from things that are not true, and in some cases even harmful. Therefore we need to find ways to heal ourselves from the harm that modern life may cause.

33-Year-Old Independent Modern Woman Draws Comics On Her Observations About Society (44 New Pics)

lainey.molnar Report

Which is why it's great to have artists like Lainey Molnar, who help others to do exactly that. She has a mission to point out all of the wrong and right things of what it means to be a woman at this day and age, and illustrates these things in a very accurate and aesthetic way. In her comics, she explores the topic of femininity, double standards, societal pressures, expectations, and various other problems that modern independent women face every day.

Yes. It's never about the clothes. You should be able to control yourself and your thoughts.

Controlling myself is absolutely necessary. But how can I control my thoughts. Being a starting guy wouldn't a girl wearing something sexy or nothing at all cause me to have sexual thoughts? Isn't this natural?

Im not trying to go against any side, but as a guy wo has no problems with the way people dress...revealing dresses are sometimes hard to not look at or have sexual thoughts about....i think its more about how well you can control yourself to not be rude or intruding.

You can have as many sexual thoughts as you want as long as you keep them to yourself and not make delusions like "oh she wears this sexy thing only for me, the dude she doesn't even know exists because we never talked!"

Especially when high school girls aren't allowed to wear whatever they want because "Boys get distracted " why are girls responsible for boys disgusting thoughts about their bodies?

Thoughts? So you want men tocontrol their thoughts or even control them yourself? LOL, If someone looks attractive (or indecent - if you like that word), it's normal to feel attracted (or horny). It simply doesn't allow you to ashame someone or make unsolicited opinions.

That the dumbest s**t I have ever seen. Its denying the fact that women do dress provocatively, to attract the attention of men. And then... pick and chose which men's attention they want... its like putting up a sign saying "look here, I want you to look here" and then going apeshit at the men they don't want to look, but open invitation to those they do. its a stupid premise.

As a human being, I have an issue with this one. 1. Orwell in his novel wrote about a thought crime - the moment, thinking becomes a crime and we'll be allowed to think only in one, "correct" way - something will be very wrong in the world. 2. Why one right to wear "whatever they want" is in opposition to the right of another "think whatever you want"? 3. Let's make the roles reverse - what about a man that keeps half of his balls or part of his di*k out? When a guy's a**e crack is visible, it is disgusting. When a man would wear leggings that will get so close to the body that everything will be fully visible, including his genitalia - it will be disgusting. Why's that? Every time I go to the gym, excluding a few weirdos, most men wear loose (or quite loose) t-shirts and shorts. Women on the other hand - in most cases I can see every single curve on their bodies. Including sometimes breasts and camel toes...

Continuation: Most popular women's gym clothes are leggings and tops with visible shoulders and cleavage. Sometimes without a bra, making their breast visible. Don't get me wrong - it's just a body - but I have the right to think whatever I want about it. It still not changing a fact that none should molest, attack rape, or whatever anybody else, but... They should be allowed to think and speak their thoughts. I've never heard that a woman who wears a suit isn't decent. On the other hand - I haven't heard too many good opinions about shirtless guys or the ones with visible crotches/cracks. As a final thought - reading many comments online - you can clearly see that in many cases "clothes shaming" is women's domain. Men aren't putting that much pressure on how you're dressed or how many times you wear the same skirt. Women do. All men can wear the same suit/clothes and nobody will have an issue with it. Most men don't need to stand out from the crowd.

Yeah I'm on the fence about this, everybody has indecent thoughts when they see half naked people, women and men included. That's why there is a term about guys wearing grey sweatpants. It goes both ways. And this isn't a good representation....he has on a full business suit and she has on what? Like girl read the room and go change.

Maybe they are at starbucks, he is working and she is going to the store? The point of this comic is that other peoples thoughts are not responsibility of the wearer (male or female). Its OK to have thoughts about peoples clothes as long as you dont judge, advise, assault, shame or act on them.

A woman's body is tempting to a man no matter what and it has nothing to do with thoughts at all. We were created or evolved (depending of what you believe) this way. So this whole idea of control your thoughts is a b******t. I believe that both sexes should wear decent cloths so do not tempt the other sex.

What's great about these illustrations is that their tone isn't restricted to criticism and negative stuff. While she criticizes, which is an important and a difficult task in itself, she also promotes body positivity and mental wellbeing. She kindly reminds us not to follow norms which don't suit your natural needs, she reminds us that we're all beautiful and normal in our own special way. No size is wrong, no height is wrong, and no habit is disgusting. All of it is you, and you should accept that first and foremost. And if the other's can't accept that, we'll, sucks to be them.

Though the expectations and the pressure for women in our society may sometimes feel like they're crushing you, don't give up, girls. Just remember, diamonds are made under pressure. They're also a woman's best friend. This might be that extra bit of inspiration you may have wanted to hear to get out there and take over the world. Tread on, women!

Never. My therapist said "your progress is not lost just because you had a bad moment". Better to let it out rather than let it eat you up from the inside. It's just a bump in the road, not the end.
